Bruno had been emotionally exhausted the past few days, more than normal. It was normal for him to feel tired and upset, he hadn’t seen his family in ages and they had given up on looking for him. But that was good, right? If he was gone (from what they knew) then his gift couldn’t harm anyone else.

But even if he was doing this because of what he thought was for the better, he stiller missed his family. He missed his mamá, and his hermanas, dearly.

He started feeling extra heavy and sad after the recent family dinner. Maribel has brought up his name and everybody silenced her, like speaking of him was some sort of forbidden sin. This happened occasionally, but this time when Pepa silencer Maribel, it was like there was a hiss to her voice. Did his own hermana hate him that much?

He had walked away from his own makeshift table and made his way down a darkish hallway he had grow oh so familiar to. It was cold, and the freaks make it feel so, empty. Which lead him to where he is now.

—a small corner with a blanket and a small bird stuffie, his mindset slowly reverting to one of a toddler’s. luckily it was voluntary this time, so he wasn’t being pushed into a huge negative spiral by his own thoughts.

over the past few years, the rats had caught onto how Bruno acted during these times, and tried to help the best they could.

one climbed onto bruno’s knee and titled its head, which caused a giggle from Bruno. “hihi mr.rat” the regressor gave a sad smile, trying his best to think positively. soon a group of rats came by with a pacifier and some even pushed along a glass of water. they signaled for Bruno to dip the rat patterned pacifier into the glass before use. Bruno followed as directed and plopped the paci into his mouth.

he gave a genuine smile that time as a few of the rats laid down on his head. he gave a few pats to the ones still on the floor, they were a lot softer than they seemed. eventually Bruno grew tired, once the rats realized they pushed a pillow towards him and he laid down. he made sure to get comfy as some of the them laid down next to him. soon enough he closed his eyes and mumbled a small thank you as he drifted to sleep.

do you have any specific encanto agere headcanons? i personally think bruno n mirabel are both regressors :3

I've mostly latched onto Bruno as a regressor bc he's my little scrimblo cat, so here's some little Bruno hcs!

☆ Probably regresses to a kiddo age, somewhere around 5-7

☆ Absolutely has a rat plushie and needs to have it with him at all times

☆ Probably also has a blankie he's really attached to! It's probably in desperate need of being cleaned tho,,,

☆ He's a quiet little guy. He starts off shy with most people but even as he warms up to them he tends to stay pretty quiet for the most part

☆ I imagine his rats mix up their programming a bit, so he can watch something a bit more kid friendly than his usual telenovelas

☆ I think he's just the clumsiest little guy. Always bumping into things
