Happy Halloween (slightly late) 🎃🍬
I obviously didn't bring a costume so I made do with what I had and some horns I bought at a convenience store

I was practicing bass in the music room, and a bunch of the elementary schoolers came in. They've been super shy towards me, even though I can tell they're really curious and want to say hi. I expected them to just leave once they saw I was there, but they all came in and sat down in front of me. One of them pointed at my bass and made a questioning sound, so I played a short riff I was practicing. They all clapped and got super excited so I just kept practicing. They watched me for about 20 minutes until my hands started to cramp so I left. That was the cutest moment of my life oh my god 😭

My favorite game ever, Detention, a game by a Taiwanese studio that takes place in Taiwan.
I don't really have anything to say about this, It's just cool to be in Taiwan and actually be able to see the unique architecture and culture that's shown in this game, it's been my favorite game for years.

I never shared these photos from my flight.
The stuffed animal in the chair is a sight i came across on my way to my connecting flight, it was an almost entirely empty hallway so I thought it was really interesting. I hope it's not a kids lost toy.

I said goodbye to my host family yesterday, and came back to school. I made so many wonderful memories in those short 5 days that I'll never forget.

I've got a tiny bit of catching up to do.
This is from my third day with my host family. We started the day with hotpot for lunch, then we headed out towards the Taichung Opera House, a very famous opera house in their city. We had sushi for dinner and closed the day out with sweet potato ice cream. This day was so wonderful and I tried so many new things!

Today we went to the Tea Expo in Nantou!
I've never been to an event like it, we walked around and sampled teas and foods, it was the best.
My host family is so excited to feed me traditional and trendy foods, I'm full to bursting with all the food they pass to me. They're so kind and I'm so glad they're as excited as I am that I'm here!
Here I am eating a pig blood rice cake, a traditional Taiwanese food. I've never had pig blood before and was initially hesitant, but it's absolutely delicious! I'm trying to push past my comfort zone and try new and unique things.
I'm really starting to find my rhythm here, I'm still thrown off by the waves of uncertainty and fear, but I'm learning to surf. (Cheesiest sentence I've ever written.)

Sorry for the jarring mix of well thought out blog entries and random pictures with no caption.
