That didn’t make much of a difference but that’s why I’m re-glazing them. At least I know it’s cleaned and prepped, definitely got the dirt and pollen off of them.
Ok. I have TWO goals for today. Two mile walk and color my hair! Other than that relax on Saturday!
Shoot! Wait. Next week’s gonna be warm. Perfect glaze curing weather. So I need to clean the sink and bathtub with bathroom cleaner today, so I can denature with alcohol tomorrow, and glaze on Monday. Three. KK, then relaxation.
Shit! Four. I’ve got clothes in the wash that need to be dried and folded.
Today is Prom Day. And I’m looking forward to it being over. I’ve discovered that Sixx is the absolute worst at planning. I’ve been asking her for weeks if she needed a boutonniere for her date. “No, we’re just friends. We’re not doing the flowers thing.” Thursday evening she jumps into the car “They got me a corsage!” So Friday I had to scramble but luckily found a florist to help me out.
So when is he picking you up?
“We’re gonna meet there.”
Ok. What time do you have to be there?
“I don’t know”
As of this morning she still didn’t know. There’s no time listed in the school’s website. Ended up finding it on Facebook. The announcements start at 7pm.
“Oh and Caleb’s parents want to pick me up.”
Do you want me to curl your hair?
“No.”
Guarantee you at 6:30 she’s going to ask me to do her hair.
Here’s me. My Junior Prom 39 years ago. THIRTY FRIGGIN NINE. How is that even possible?
How 80s is that!? Lol! 1985
Le sigh. Prom day always reminds me of first love. And would someone tell me to stand up straight, please! Jeez, Stoopit photographer.
Picked up a couple books for my son. One to give him a better idea of where his sister is living and the other to teach him about voting.
He says he doesn’t want to register to vote, but I think it’s just his anxiety and not knowing what to expect. If he reads this book - about a mayoral race- and we do some social stories and skill building, he may change his mind. I’d love for him to register and take part.
Same here. I don’t think we’ll ever recover. And our mortgage, which would have been paid off in 10 years, will now follow us into our 80s. Ah, the American Dream!
No one should have to go bankrupt because of medical bills. We have to make lobbying congress illegal bc that is why we do not have Universal Healthcare.
My husband was CRAZY last night. Granted he was asleep, but my gawd, I wanted to harm him.
He had a horrible day so he went to bed at 9. I followed literally 5 mins later. I get upstairs and he’s already snoring. And his snoring is out of control on a normal night, but last night was not normal.
Not only was he snoring, he was talking, moaning, exhaling in my face…I even heard animal noises.
Then there was the tossing and turning. Not unlike Hugh Grant purchasing a mattress. I was all WTAF?!?! I got kicked, punched, pushed, stripped of all the covers. It was insane.
So at midnight, having given up all hope of ever sleeping, I put down the pillow I had perched above his sleeping fucking face and got up and walked to the hall and called to my son telling him to go to bed not worrying if I woke Sir Snores-a-lot. Then went back to bed and that either settled him down or I was so exhausted at that point I passed out no matter what kind of circus was taking place on his side of the bed.
Basically, all I’m saying is if you’re gonna be an ass in bed, you better look like Hugh Grant doing it. I think. I don’t know anymore. But I do like that movie.
I feel like it’s flown by and I’ve not finished anything I really needed to.
Monday, my tire alarm went off while driving Sixx to school. Sure enough, front drivers side was flat. Had it patched up … again! That’s twice now. They’re all in bad shape but we’ll be buying 2 new ones for the front at the end of the month when the hubs gets paid.
In the meantime someone’s supposed to be here tonite to buy our old Sand Filter/Pool Pump so that’s 1/3 of the tires paid for.
After tonite’s storms go through it looks like we warm up nicely and for good (at least no weather below 55 degrees) so I can get that tub glazed. We can clean up. I can finish furnishing the bath house and then the airbnb can go live. Hopefully that will ease the $$ woes a bit. I’ve already got people waiting to book it.
Sixx’ things for her prom came in yesterday. She bought her dress with her own money and some help from big sister, and I bought her the accessories - a wrap, a purse, a headband, and some matching nail polish. She should be all set for the ball now. You know you’ll see pictures!
