Do you happen to know any casual clothes that Light wore in the series? The only things I remember are from his train station "date", what he wore when he lost his memory, and what he wore on a cover of one of the manga.

I ask this because I’m cosplaying Light and I don’t want to do school or end series Light as it would be too expensive.

Publishing this because I’ve noticed that whenever I do private answers images tend to just… not work. Also everyone needs to look at Light’s nerdy wardrobe, clearly. I love it so much.

But yeah, Light has a large number of casual outfits in first Arc and then just does his suit / dress-shirt thing through most of canon, so here’s some casual Lightos from Arc 1. Color!Manga-version, because I don’t have anime references as readily available. They might be colored differently there, hmh.

THIS SPIRALED INTO A DOCUMENTATION OF ALL LIGHT’S CASUAL CLOTHES IN FIRST ARC. I AM SORRY (?).

Added in with an anime design sheet because the manga never truly shows the front of the jacket in this scene. Also closeup to the shirt collar and sleeves.

(He wears the same jacket again though with a diff outfit so here’s the front in original manga version:

… which is the same as the anime, unsurprisingly. He wears that thing a ton.)

This might be the same shirt as in the first look? It looks SLIGHTLY different but not really, haha. Buuuut worn with a dress shirt under, this time.

Heyy as somebody who grew up watching mlp(and still loves it) and got into Death Note when was 11, I love both of the shows soo much RELIGIOUSLY. I really tried to combine them and draw smth but my untalented ass just couldn't-😭. I just found out your Death note×mlp art and today and all I can say is OH. MY. GOD. so i came up with a death note soul eater au

the plot ⬇️

- light (a meister) is the top student at DWMA and a battle strategy prodigy. but he can’t find a good weapon

- L (a weapon) is also a battle strategy prodigy. he works independently from the DWMA with Watari as his meister. they fight evil on their own but sometimes the DWMA asks for their help because they’re so boss at hunting people down

- light devises a plan to make ragnarok (ryuknarok. in this au.) because he wants to become a death scythe but no weapons at the DWMA are on his skill level. he knows the risks of the black blood and creates it anyway

- the madness gets to him so light kills a bunch of people HE deems as evil (even though they mostly aren’t) with ryuknarok. so the DWMA calls in L and Watari to hunt him down

- they battle it out for a LONG TIME because both of them are crazy talented in battle strat (watari included) and somehow match every single one of each others moves. eventually L/Watari win and capture light

- they figure out how to separate light from ryuknarok (though the black blood is still in light. so he’s still a little crazy)

- L knows this, but he also did research on Light and knows how good of a meister he is (and knows he’s a prodigy like him). and after seeing light fight he’s like… 1. i can’t let this guy back out on the street. he’s insane and volatile. 2. don’t want to kill him he’s too smart it’d be a waste 3. He’s amazing in battle and the only person who has ever given watari and I a challenge. SO L makes a deal with him and instead of light getting locked away, he can be L’s new meister. so L can keep him in check. (but mostly because L wanted him sooooo bad)

- they become death scythes very easily and everyone hates them for it. everyone also hates them for being too powerful (their soul resonance is unheard of) and for being the DWMA’s most obnoxious staff couple

wataris design is just this. It’s already so obnoxious
