with the classes coming together, kiga had hopes for maybe making some more friends - since she severely lacked in the category. as people broke into groups, yellow eyes scanned the area until she spots a girl about her height. she looked friendly. despite her shyness, the child of the sun approaches and offers a smile.   “ mind if i sit with you? ”

     she’d heard tell of the one who sparkles through words passed in the halls and lunch room, but kiga had never actually seen the individual  — until now. yellow eyes watch as he sits across from her at the lunch table and the girl cannot help but smile. it was impossible to not smile with the confidence he radiated off of him. she wondered how he could be so confident....oh, and she was staring.  “ um, hi! ” a quick greeting to makeup for her lingering gaze.

     the moon was still out, though just barely. kiga always woke up first thing in the morning before the sun could rise so she could absorb as much light as possible. most people were still asleep at this hour but as she began to move along to the stone paths of the campus, she spotted a familiar face.  “ usagi, right? ”  the girl spoke in a low voice, offering a friendly smile.

     this was risky but kigata was growing desperate. her quirk was strong, sure, but she had no idea how to really utilize it. there were a couple of people around the school that she could’ve gone to but  — for some reason  — she was standing in front of bakugou.  “ um, hi. ”  the girl greets nervously, forcing a small smile.  “ bakugou, right? ”

kiga is a descendent of the sun goddess: oriana

her mother’s side of the family is those descended of oriana. the ancient family used to rule the kingdom of solis, the kingdom that sits highest in the hills and closest to the sun - naturally. each descendent used to be able to harness the power of the sun and use it’s magic.

they fell from their rule when the powers of oriana faded from existence and the family was deemed unworthy to rule solis anymore. they were forced from rule and exiled.

years and years have passed and those powers suddenly reappeared when kigata was born, causing her mother to resent kiga bc she wished to have the ability

kiga found out she had the powers of oriana through a vision one night when oriana visited her and told her of this as well as her royal duty: to retake solis in the name of the sun

now, equipped with her abilities, kiga has set out to retake her rightful throne and bring light back to the now dark, and cursed, solis

Shit. Fucking shit. It’s not like he cares about some extra’s story. He doesn’t. He had every intention to keep on his way and forget this encounter ever happened. But from the corner of his eyes he sees some girls walk by with a self-satisfied smile. He hears the one in front of him sigh in dejected acceptance. And suddenly he’s back in middle school — with him being the one to walk by, leaving Deku to pick up whatever scraps of pieces he leaves behind. 

And he hates this, this random girl’s problems is none of his goddamn business, and he’s not Deku who sticks his nose where it doesn’t fucking belong. But hearing this girl’s excuse, in that same goddamn tone he has heard the shit nerd use all the fucking time —— something in him aches, even as he doesn’t want to fucking deal with this. 

And yet, with an irritated click of tongue, he glares at the girls passing by, as well as all the other shit extras staring like this is some sort of soap show, before looking back at the one who bumped into him before. There’s too many damn people here. “Late, huh?” He drawls, clear in his disbelief before he jerks his chin to the side. “Whatever. If you’re late anyways, then follow.” And he walks off without further explanation, figuring even if the other doesn’t follow, well, it’s not like any of this is his business anyways. Makes no damn difference to him. ( it doesn’t ) He stops as soon as they reach an empty hall, people already well on their way back to dorms with classes over, giving them some semblance of privacy. “So? You’re a shit liar so wanna try again?”

she sees the faces of the girl’s as they walk by, causing her stomach to turn and eyes to quickly turn to the ground. this was not how she thought today was going to happen. kiga was hoping that she could get through the day and back to the dorm room without any sort of instance or running into that pack of girls  — who was more like a pack of rabid hyenas.

if she thought about it, maybe it was lucky that she had run into bakugou  — even though he did scare and intimidate the crap out of her. his presence had warded off those girls, had almost protected her in a sense. and he looked...angry?

his demand breaks her thoughts, causing kiga to not think much but immediately trail after him. yellow eyes glance back towards the one’s who had chased her ; they all looked so disappointed. good. the moment they were alone, he spoke and kiga was caught off guard. so, he knew it was a lie. lips press into a line as the girl tries to think of another lie to use but, if he caught that one, he would be sure to catch the next.   “ just some girl’s from general studies. we went to middle school together. i thought maybe they would ease up when we got here, but . . . ”  voice trails off, clearly the subject getting a bit more touchy than kiga was anticipating.   “ look, it’s fine. okay? i’m fine. ”   another lie.

Narrowed red eyes stared blandly down at the girl in front of him, making no moves to help her back up. Instead his hands were firmly shoved in pockets, as he only stumbled back a couple of steps from the collision and barely needed to rebalance himself.

Not even addressing her apology, he grumbles out, “The hell you running around for? This ain’t grade school.” Though despite the unfriendly tone and words no yelling occurred — which may have been a bit of a surprise for one of his reputation.

she stands quickly from the ground, hands dusting at her uniform to rid it of any dirt that it might have gathered from her fall. yellow eyes glance around at some of the faces that are casually turned towards them ; no doubt people who saw the collision and were now waiting for whatever repercussion might be waiting. but, he seemed...calm.

“ oh, i was  — ”  konomaki stops herself from saying anymore, not wanting to sound childish or as if she was complaining. she watches as the very girls who were messing with her walk by as if nothing happened. a sigh escapes her.  “ i was just late to something. that’s all. ”

                  𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨   𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬   𝐭𝐡𝐞   𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞   &   𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬   𝐭𝐨   𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐰𝐚   𝐟𝐨𝐫   𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 ,    once permission is granted ,  he turns to walk out of the training grounds   &   on the way to recovery girl’s office .  the walk was silent ,  with a couple of glances over to check her condition ,  he’d never been great at making small talk with anyone in general ,  he didn’t even know her name to begin with .

       a moment of reluctance ,  shoto releases a soft exhale ,  before his lips part to speak ,   ❛  you were planning to hold back ,  weren’t you ?  ❜

     she was basically a doll at this point, being carried around by him with no control of her destination. though, this was what happened when someone got severely injured  — at least, she supposed. there was no one to blame for other than herself. kiga had made the mental decision to go easy. speaking of . . . silence is broken by question ; cheeks flush red.

    “ i  — yeah. i was, ”  the girl whispers, avoiding his gaze,  “ i don’t like my quirk. i don’t want to hurt someone with it. ”

   she was nervous. just a little. no, okay, a lot. being paired up with a pro-hero for a work study was a pretty big step to take towards becoming a hero herself and konomaki wasn’t sure if she was ready for such a leap. yet, here she sat, just outside the woman’s office with her own file in hand. her hero costume fit snug yet felt comfortable, it was her own skin that had her feel uncomfortable. the door opening suddenly caused her to jump, file sliding from her hands to the floor.

     “ no, you were fine! i just — ”  no words could come out before he was lifting her up into her arms and kiga found herself being cradled by the boy. cheeks turn flush as she glances away, embarrassed and nervous at the closeness.  “ thank you, but i can walk. ”  a pure, blatant lie. there was no way she was walking anywhere at this rate. kiga supposed, at this point, she was now in shoto todoroki’s care.

     the attack comes so quick that she has no time to react, getting blasted with with ice and sent straight to the ground. the glowing slowly fades to nothing as kiga comes to  — having been knocked out briefly by the hit. she’d hoped to get at least one hit in but todoroki was much too strong ; all the rumors she’d heard were true.  “ i  — yeah, ”   the girl replies as she tries to stand, collapsing almost immediately.

     the sight of the frost sends a chill down her spine, knowing that cold was her major weakness ; it was the first thing that he chose to go for which meant this fight was going to be over quick. deep breath before hands begin to radiate light, eyes glowing to match.  “ bring it on. ”

     “ oh, no! don’t apologize. it’s okay! ”   the girl offers him a soft smile, trying to reassure him that he hadn’t offended her in any way. she tended to keep to herself most days so friends weren’t exactly a thing. ( she was too scared of hurting them. )  he was much taller than her so she looked up towards him ; he was so stoic and quiet yet, for some reason, so incredibly intimidating.  “ i won’t hold back. i promise. ”  and that was a lie.
