I'm shooting so far in the dark but what if the rat grinders were trying to bring back the nameless rage god (presumably Ankarna) so they could figure out how to get rid for the anti resurrection runes on Lucy Frostblade's bones.

Something happened in the chaos mountains. They all died, but Lucy was the only one to decline on following the way of the rage. What if they're just trying to save her? That's why they seem to becoming more desperate as time runs out to save Lucy.

I've slept like 2 hours in the last 48 hours so I'm kinda losing my mind

one side of the table sweating bullets to do the math problem and the other side just absolutely not caring is so funny to me

torn between my hatred of the idea of hallariel having more children, being the mother to them that she never bothered to be to fabian, and my love of reluctant big brother fabian, who under the guise of dueling them on their 18th birthday cares very deeply about his new siblings

it really does drive me crazy trying to interact with any of the popular fantasy high posts on here. because people will say with their whole chest they hate and have got no sympathy for the rat grinders and that a) jawbone should've punched kipperlilly for coming to him with her Undiagnosed Mental Health Issues (you know, like the ones adaine used to have in freshman year?) b) the bad kids should take them all someplace to 6v1 them one by one and cold blooded murder them (??????) c) whole heartedly hate and make fun of them for being scared and alone and dead when they went on an adventure with a teacher and adult who was supposed to PROTECT them in a place they weren't prepared for.

the rat grinders were just. normal students. they are more like you than you could ever be like the bad kids. they were mid & they didn't want to be so they pushed themselves too fast too far and now all of them have got the worst survivor's guilt on earth on top of actively having to serve the rage incarnation of a dead god.

if you have the cognitive dissonance where one of the bad kids was in the plot line and you'd be drawing fanart making angsty meta crying about your poor baby forced into a bad situation and turn around and go 'lol nah shoot THESE guys in the head though' when it's an NPC I can only assume you've not understood narrative parallels or learned empathy past, like, a kindergarten level

The amount of. Just anger i feel toward porter is insurmountable he is fully looking at a student that he refuses to understand and looks at said students close friend and says “i like you more than my student of going on 3 years” LIKE SHUT UP god he pisses me off so much its like he expects every barbarian to be the exact same and the MOMENT gorgug is like “haha i do this a bit differently and i like being nice and processing my emotions but im still a functional barbarian and also i like making magical tools” he refuses to help or understand and instead constantly within one day has insulted him to his face ALSO in front of his friends and its like why does gorgug have to try so fucking hard god i hate him so much and i hate that hed fucking like how much i hate his stupid fucking face it is rare that i feel like this in regards to a character but it is difficult for me to have an understanding of a character that teaches fucking children and refuses to understand one of his students in such a way where he is actively holding him back to where he has to do so much to do what he wants he makes me so upset IM SORRY this is so disorganized and theres barely any sort of stop or punctuation here its difficult for me to not be upset by this stupid fictional character that hits too close to home bc i unfortunately relate to the character hes a fucking ass to

Ok ive calmed down a bit and i know that porter thinks he is helping but at the end of the day its just. Detrimental. And being angry and a fictional character helps no one but i had to say it or id keep thinking about it. Someone please tell me if porter stops being. The way hes been. Like character development. At some point. Im on ep 4 of fhjy and having fun i swear

i have some thoughts about Kipperlilly and how she’s mad because Riz’s life has been harder than hers, and how that relates to trauma.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s really fucked up that she wishes she had that tragic backstory or family death because it gives them an “unfair advantage”, and yeah I agree that the reasoning’s messed up. They definitely don’t have an advantage, and Riz didn’t ask for a hard time and didn’t deserve it, but just because she is asking for one doesn’t mean she deserves it either.

I feel bad for Kipperlilly personally, I can empathise with her longing for that tragedy. Sometimes when a person has a lot of micro-traumas, for example emotional abuse of your friends repeatedly doing things to trigger your anger issues (which you are trying to work on with a councillor), or the pain of knowing you died and came back different, people do find themselves wishing awful things have happened to them. It’s a way of validation. It’s a thinking trap of “maybe if people could see the pain I was in, they’d help”. And that really fucks you up, I’ve been there. And then when something bad does happen, you blame yourself and think you deserve it because you asked for it.

So yeah, I think Kipperlilly’s thinking is flawed, but I don’t blame her for it. I don’t think she’s fundamentally a bad person because of it. Sometimes attention seeking behaviours are because they’re necessary - needing attention because you’re hurting (eg. due to uncontrolled anger issues) is valid. It’s not healthy when it’s actively hurting others, but it should be recognised at least by Jawbone that there could well be an underlying reason for her thinking and acting in that way.

Kipperlilly, I’m sorry for how they’re treating you. I’m not trying to victimise you, because you are causing harm, and that is wrong. But I see you. I hope you can learn to accept that pain is relative.

FANTASY HIGH JUNIOR YEAR SPOILERS

i 100% think Ankarna/ uncorrupted ankarna is Figs nightmare king/Cassandra. This deity was made for her, just the description of this deities original domain 100% resonated with her, summoned a steed that was one of ankarnas, pulled ankarnas domain into her own, has been using magic that looks like SUNLIGHT instead of FLAME, and i think the decision emily makes that changes the direction of figs story has to do with ankarna

just like how Ally choosing to have Kristen worship the unnamed goddess and trust the unnamed goddess and the nightmare king were one and the same changed her story completely as well

HELL FIG IS DATING A PHOENIX, KRISTEN WAS DATING A WOLF WHEN SHE STARTED WORSHIPPING A GODDEXX OF THE NIGHT

And while neither Ayda or Tracker worship the goddess that their girlfriends chose/might choose to worship, they still have a major connection to the subject matter of these goddesses imo

just a little theory i have about what might come up, im obsessed with this show and so excited for the next episode!!!

Thinking about ankarna and how right now she’s corrupted and a goddess of rage but it feels like figs trying to uncorrupt her and bring her back to what she was and now I’m thinking that when she’s successful what will happen to the ratgrinders? Will they still worship her rage? Will they be free to worship whoever they want after that? If so would buddy still choose her? Just lots of thoughts

because she's not nameless. her name is ankarna, apparently. adaine found it. adaine abernant, elven oracle, read it aloud to the cosmos and destroyed the oblivati mori.

but buddy does not follow ankarna. buddy follows a nameless god.

the rat grinders do not know the name of the god they follow. they do not know the cause in which they fight for. we were warned by pok, episode 13, that if someone began worshipping ankarna, it would be unsafe. but the rat grinders do not follow ankarna. they follow someone unnamed.

i wonder what would happen if the rat grinders learned her name.

And maybe if your killed by somone revived by Ankarna, they get the chance to be brought back in her service. As we know, rejecting that puts that symbol on you, seemingly preventing revival and torturing(?) you.

I can’t wait for the final Rat Grinders fight. Just thinking about it from Kipperlilly’s perspective is funny to me.

“Okay, so Riz and Kristen have been my two most consistent antagonists, we’ve had multiple bad interactions and I Hate Them both specifically and its shared. They’ll probably rush me, but that should leave Buddy Dawn open”

And then when the fight actually happens, Adaine just fucking ANNIHILATES her first turn because she hates Kilperlilly so much and so much more violently then anyone else.

Kristen wants to beat her, Riz doesnt like what she stands for, bur Adaine? Adaine has not spoken to this bitch once as far as I’m aware yet she is always and will always be the first to shit talk her.

Once again just bored to tears by The Disk Horse of people who can seemingly only engage with art on the level of an Aesop fable, with the reassuringly definite conclusion of THIS CHARACTER GOOD or THIS CHARACTER BAD. Giving fictional characters the moral thumbs up or thumbs down to show how virtuous you are is definitely the point of all these tens of hours of RPing. That's why we tell stories, right? So we can say horrific things to actual people over their opinions of imaginary people.

I feel like so many people have been forgetting the rat grinders are children. "lucy was the only one with integrity!" THEY WERE 15-16 YEARS OLD. like yeah they can be assholes sometimes they're teenagers! that doesn't make them evil or worthy of death! if you were violently killed in your sophomore year of highschool by a horrifying unnamed god of rage and were told your only options were to be brought back to worship it or be dead and have your soul trapped from going to any afterlife or being magically resurrected look me in the eyes you're not choosing to be brought back. like I don't feel like that makes any of them evil! just scared children!
