One of my coworkers asked me if I had collections as a kid and I said yes and that I still collect stuff. Normally kids have one or two interests but… did anyone else collect absolutely everything? I feel crazy
I have boxes and totes FULL of books, magazines, Barbie’s, Beanie Babies, baby dolls, tea sets, thimbles, salt and pepper shakers (a collection I continued from my great grandma), cups and mugs, hoodies, tshirts, crystals and gems, CDs, vinyl records… anyone else?? Tell me I’m not crazy

So I'm thinking about selling my albums (everything included, photo cards, ect). That came with the albums).
I'm just not as interested in collecting then anymore, even though I still love who I listen to and will continue to support them through streaming their music.
I'll probably post pictures of the albums I have soon. They've been in a box for a couple of years and need to go to a place that will give them love.
If people are interested, please feel free to message me.

Reassurance - Jongho
Tumblr media
find more content here: ateez masterlist  ↬ summary: sometimes, little words does the trick and all you really needed was a good long hug ↬ tags: idol/ non-idol! au, gn! reader, a healthy relationship! ↬ word count: 308 words
“My love…?”
Jongho’s thoughts of whipping up dinner immediately dissipated, and he gave his fullest attention to you. He quickly kicked off his shoes, crossing the living room in 3 quick strides. The groceries could wait, whatever you had to say definitely shouldn’t.
He sat down beside you on the couch, eyes genuinely searching yours. “Yes?”
“I feel like…I haven’t got the most reassurance from you today.” You fidgeted with the quilt in your hands, tucking your legs towards you. Your gaze was downcast as you hurriedly explained your sudden statement.
“I mean I understand you’re busy and I’m busy too. I just—”
“Come here.” Jongho opened his arms and you curled up in his lap without a moment of hesitation. Taking in a deep breath, he lightly rocked you back and forth, stroking your back as he did.
“I’m sorry you didn’t get enough love today.” He peppered kisses all over your face, those feather-light ones that he knew would make you smile. Pulling away from each other, he pressed one last kiss on your lips.
“You’ve been there for me through my tough times, so let me be here for you too. Is there any way I can make it up to you?”
“I had a long day, and…I don’t really want to talk about it. So…just hold me, please.” You leaned towards him and he tightly wrapped his arms around you.
“Yeah, of course.”
Together, in serene stillness, sat the two of you in your own little bubble. Jongho was more than willing to be that pillar of support, just as you have been for him when he was struggling.
“Let’s just lie here for a little longer.” Since his beloved was asking, Jongho definitely couldn’t refuse. Sitting back against the couch, he cuddled you, not letting you go.
Yeah, the groceries can definitely wait.

There's a place called Eris, where magic runs deep in the lands. A place where creatures of high nobility live, like elves and humans, even warlocks and faeries. Up in the mountain and deep in the caves, some dwarves dwell, that mine and smelt gold. There are even monstrous species, such as dragons and behemoths. Yet some species are slowly going extinct, like the phoenix.
Eris is a world of myth and magic, it was also once a place of peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, the plague of greed waged war for the land, and some species sought out those who could be bent to their will for their gain.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
The human king, King Ainar, of Deimos, sought a cure for his ailing wife. His court physicians couldn't figure out what was wrong. No treatment seemed to work. Every remedy they tried failed. So, he sought out warlocks, witches, and the fae folk. The results were the same. No potion, tonic, or balm seemed to ease the illness that befell the Queen of Deimos. Over a year, many had failed to cure the queen, and she remained husk-like in her bed.
And then, there was one last chance the King had, a rumor at most, but it was a small grain of hope for him. There is an island called Thelea, home to the phoenix, which is a land made purely of volcanic rock and ash, except when spring arrives then there is life on the island.
King Ainar took the only lead he had and readied a fleet to storm Thelea. But why search for the phoenix? There was a myth that the bird of flames could cure or heal any ailment with a single drop of their golden blood.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
Rowboats scratched against the gravel of the shore of Thelea in the dark of night. The knights that King Ainar had sent out have finally reached the land of fire, and secured as many of the phoenixes as they could.
The sound of iron boots and chain mail could be heard as the knights began the raid.
Homes were set aflame and the air turned rancid with smoke, all in attempts to flush out some of the phoenixes from their homes and out into the open. It wasn't long before startled screams and shouts filled the air, and the sound of iron nets being cast as they clinked against each other.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
Small soot-stained hands clawed at the floorboard under them trying desperately to escape the support beam that fell from the rafters of her family home. Every gasp and cough that left her as she struggled left her lungs burnings. Her eyes stung from the smoke and she could only see orange and yellow flames behind her bleary eyes.
It was only a matter of time now. She knew these were probably her final moments. She could hear her parents' screams get farther and farther away.
Feeling the last of the strength leave her body, she feels heat ignite from inside her chest. It's instantaneous, the rapidly growing fire consumes the small feathered girl and leaves a pile of ash in its wake.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
A small thunder of dragons flies overhead, getting ready to head back to their home in the Mountains of Altair when they notice the smoking ruins of Thelea.
"Look over there," a silver female wyvern pointed out, craning her neck in the direction of the smoke plumes.
The large black dragon at the head of the group angled his wings to land in the ruins of Thelea, the rest of the group following his lead in the descent.
The black dragon touches down first closely followed by the silver female. It's not too long after that four small hatchlings stumble upon their landings.
Among the hatchlings, there is a crimson scaled dragon, it's dark scales shimmering brightly like the lava pools in Thelea. A dragon with scales as black as the night sky and eyes that compare to the emeralds that the dwarves of Erbor mine. The third hatchling to touch down is a dragon with gold scales like the large wheat fields that cover most of Diemos. The last one to land is the youngest, a snow white wyvern, who stumbles the most out of the hatchlings since he only has two legs.
The unmistakable sounds of bones compacting and joints popping reach the ears of the thunder, and before them stands a motherly woman with silvery hair in a long braid, and a plain pleated dress.
"Amia, what are you doing?" The black dragon's voice vertebrates inside her head. It's almost loud enough that it feels like his words are bouncing off her skull.
"Looking for survivors. This isn't natural," she insists and begins to make her way to the center of town.
More popping can be heard and a mop of straw colored hair is bounding after the woman.
"Yunho!" The dragon calls, but gets ignored by the hatchling and soon the other three are following his lead.
Shaking his head the elder follows suit, quick to hurry after his wife and the four hatchlings who were supposed to be doing flight training.
Amia picks up the dress of skirt as she picks her way through the deserted town. Distress evident on her face as she walks up to one of the charred remains of a home and spots a small doll laying in a puddle, covered in soot.
The male, known as Izar, walks up to his wife, eyes scanning everything. Hoping for a sign of life, or something that'll explain what happened.
"It doesn't look like any of them are here," Izar states, placing what he hopes is a comforting hand on his wife's shoulder.
The four hatchlings have wandered over to the other side of the town square. A weird tug pulling at each of them in the direction of a house with a collapsed roof.
Seonghwa nudges Hongjoong's ribs and they share a look with each other before slowly stepping into the threshold of the house. Calculating eyes searching, but they aren't quite sure what they're looking for.
Yeosang stands on his tippy toes to look over Hongjoong’s shoulder and points at a pile of ash on the floor.
"What's that?" He asks, carefully stepping out from behind his elder.
He receives a shrug and the four of them begin to make their way to the center of the room and together the four lift the center beam.
Yunho bends down, about to touch the pile when they all hear their names being called by Izar and Amia.
"Time to go," Seonghwa mumbles, picking his way back to what would be the front door.
As the four of them begin to turn away from the strange pile of ash, they feel heat warm their backs. The heat isn't harsh, but it's warm and inviting and it makes them freeze in their place and turn around. Stunned they watch as the ashes reignite before their eyes, and in the orange glow of the fire a shape starts to take place before the fire dies out. Eyes wide and mouths agape they stare as a small bird with burgundy and gold feathers with brilliant blue eyes.
"Guys," Hongjoong looks at the other hatchlings.
Swallowing thickly, Seonghwa carefully picks up the phoenix and cradles it between his palms.
"So, what now?" He asks, turning around.
"I guess, we bring it to Amia," Hongjoong answers, leading the way back to the center of town.
The four boys hurry to find their caretakers and call out to them.
It doesn't take long for them to notice the new phoenix in Seonghwa's hands, and Amia is hurrying over to see the young one.
"Oh, Mother," Amia whispers, her hand covering her mouth.
Izar takes another look around the place before letting out a heavy sigh, "I guess we will take this one home with us. Seonghwa, will you be alright holding onto them while we fly home?"
Seonghwa nods his head, his arms holding the bird a little bit more firmly without crushing it.
"Well then," Izar announces right before shifting, "Let's head home."
Five dragons take off from Thelea heading West towards the Mountains of Altair, and perched on the back of the Izar, is Seonghwa holding the small bird made of sol.

Once upon a Wendigo
Vernon x reader, OC! Dani (@soft4svt )
AN: So this is completely based on a dream I had. I don't plan on extending this into chapters and it'll be a stand alone story, considering this was a dream. It might now be very detailed in some places, but I'd simply like to focus on the main plot of my dream, more like a nightmare. Although it never got bad enough that I consider it to be a nightmare. Also this story will not connect to how it started either. It's simply following the path my dream took before I woke up.
Warnings: gore, angst, violence, slight nudity, trust issues, slight fluff, cliff hanger

You could hear the voices of your friends searching for you filtering through the floorboards above you. Not entirely sure where you are within the cabin. Maybe a crawl space of sorts. Matter of fact is that you're covered in your own blood, dusted and bruised. To top that off, you're bound with rope. All belongings; phone, shoes, anything that could remotely be useful to you have been scattered around the small area.
The voices of your friends seem to be getting more frantic, and yet you can hear your own voice, except it's not coming from you. No, it hurts to talk and the room seems to be getting darker.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
"Hey, the turn off is in half a mile," your friend Dani tells you, placing a hand on your shoulder as she points to the map in her hand.
Startled, you suck in a breath.
"Hey, you okay?" She asks, looking at your face. If she looks closely enough it almost looked like you had a thin layer of sweat on your brow.
"Oh, yeah. Sure. I'm good," you brush it off. Eyes focusing back on the road.
I should be dead. I died, right? One hand leaves the steering wheel, and you chew the skin around the edge of your thumb. A nervous tick you picked up. Why am I back here?
You exhale shakily as you turn down the dirt road that leads to the cabin you and your friends rented for the weekend. A weird sense of deja vu settles in the back of your mind and your stomach rolls with unease as you pull up to the cabin.
"God, I'm so excited to see them again! It's been awhile since we all got together," Dani smiles, grabbing her bag from the back seat.
You nod and give a smile, even though it doesn't quite reach your eyes. "Yeah, it'll be good catching up with everyone."
Pulling out your phone you glance and see if you received any texts from the guys.
"Damn. We lost service when we pulled off onto the road. Do you know when they said they'd be here?" You ask, following the blonde up the steps to the large cabin.
"Not really, they just said "later"," She tells you, inserting the key and giving the door a push.
"Ah, so the usual," you mutter sarcastically, dropping your bag by the door.
"Oh, come on, it won't be that bad. I'm pretty sure they're bringing dinner," she tells you, walking up the large stairs to the second level.
Stretching your arms over your head you lean back until you hear the satisfying crack before picking up your duffle bag and following her up to the room.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
"Hey, we're here!" Soonyoung shouts, toeing the front door open as he lugs the cooler inside.
Vernon shoulders his backpack a little higher as he steps through the door and looks around.
"Hoping to find your girlfriend?" Jun teases, clapping a hand on his friend's shoulder.
"She's not my girlfriend," he mumbles, rolling his eyes.
"Not yet~," Jun sing-songs, leaving Vernon in the entryway.
Rolling his eyes, he follows the guys to the kitchen to help put the food they brought away and start making dinner.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
"Hey, Dani?" You call, digging through your bag.
"Yeah?"
"I think I'm going to shower before heading downstairs," you tell her, finally digging out your towel.
"Alright, I'm going to go down. I think the guys are here," she gives you a wave before closing the door behind her.
You eye the towel in your hand and then the bathroom. The unsettling feeling comes back full force leaving you queasy.
Carefully, you make your way to the bathroom door and give it a gentle push. Only to be greeted by nothing.
"I hate this," you mutter, stepping into the room so you can shower.
Reaching your hand around the curtain you check to see if the temperature is finally warm enough before stepping in. You're about halfway through washing the soap out of your hair when you hear something outside of the bathroom. The footsteps are heavier than any of your friends and there's a slight scraping noise that follows the steps.
Shutting the water off you gently pull the curtain back and pick up your towel to cover yourself. Your brows furrow as you quietly make your way back to the bedroom door.
Twisting the door handle you carefully peek around it, only to find the room how you left it. Fully stepping out into the room you call out hesitantly, "Hello?"
You receive no answer as you take steps toward the bed. Your eyes wander around for a brief moment before settling on the ceiling. You're positive it wasn't scratched up before when you first got here. Anxiety prices your skin as you peel your eyes away from the scratches so you can get dressed.
A knock on the door has your hand leaping to your chest and eyes wide open as you look to see who is there.
"Hey, uh, YN. It's Vernon. Can I come in?"
Clearing your throat you tell him he can come in.
Waves of brown hair peek around the door followed by hazel eyes, and you relax just a little bit. He's only halfway in the door before he realizes you're still in a towel.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry. I thought you were already dressed. I can wait outside!" He rushes to get all of that out, cheeks dusted pink.
He's already trying to close the door when you stop him "Vern, could you, could you actually stay in here… with me?"
You see the door pause for a moment before hesitantly opening again.
"Are you sure? I can just wait for you in the hallway?" His face is no longer just dusted in pink, he looks rather flushed now.
Your shoulders sag as you look at him, "please?"
It's his turn for his shoulders to sag, but there's a small defeated smile as he enters the room fully, but he turns and faces the door.
"Thank you Vern," he hears you murmur as you rummage to get dressed.
"It's not a problem. We finished making dinner a while ago and wanted to make sure you were okay."
You smile as you finish tying your shoe. "Well I appreciate you coming to check on me," you give him a genuine smile for the first time that night.
"Yeah, yeah no problem," he scratches the back of his head, slightly flustered that the smile was directed at him. Noticing you're almost out the door he quickly goes to your side and slips his hand into yours.
You look down at your joined hands and then back at him.
"Is this," he coughs, "is this okay?"
"Yeah this is okay," you give his hand a small squeeze as he leads down to the others.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
You can hear laughter coming from the kitchen where everyone else is gathered.
When you enter the room you notice that Seokmin is in a debate with Chan and Soonyoung and it's getting heated. Jun and Dani are dishing out plates, but pause as you walk in together. Jun wiggles his brows at you both and Dani slaps his shoulder but gives the two of you a smile.
"About time you graced us with your presence," Jun teases, earning another slap from Dani.
"Ah, yes. I just knew you missed me so much," you tease back.
For the first time that night you felt truly relaxed and at ease in the presence of your friends, that was until there was a knock on the cabin door.
"We weren't expecting anyone else right?" Chan asks, starting to stand from his chair.
"No, I don't think so," Jun tells him.
Nerves dance across your skin and you stand up a little too quickly causing your chair to make a scratching sound against the floor.
"I'll um, I'll get it," you quickly tell them, pointing in the direction of the door.
Everyone is alarmed by our reaction, and Chan slowly sits back down in his chair.
The way you are acting about the person at the door causes the group to look at each other with unease. They don't like how you are carefully placing your feet against the creaky floorboards and staying out of line with the windows.
"Dude, if this is some prank then cut it out," Soonyoung calls, only to be shushed and waved off.
At this Vernon stands and tries to make his way to you only to freeze when he sees that you have one of the curtains pulled tightly shut, the other one wide open with a creature looking through it. Deer like antlers sit atop of what he can only assume is a horse skull, but the body is very human-like. The lack of eyes stared back at him.
"Don't move," you whisper, slowly bracing yourself against the door.
Vernon's eyes watch as the creature disappears from view only to flinch when he hears the door open slightly.
One look at your face and his heartbreaks. Silent tears are falling from your eyes as you do your best to keep the creature at bay. His eyes look from you to the window and back again, and when he does, he sees you mouth something.
"Run!"

Previously on The Hunt:
Your eyes flit over to Wonwoo as you watch him rip the head away from the body, the wet noise leaving a sickening feeling in your gut. Moving back to the task at hand, you inch your way back to Adam's body. Hasn't been long enough for the body to grow cold, but the grip you have on his cold fingers is enough to let you know that he's gone.
Wonwoo watches as you bring your friend into your arms and hold him like your life depends on it. His heart twists as he listens to the sobs that wrack through your body at the loss of your friend.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
Tumblr media
Nudging you with his snout, he slowly prods you to get up. Even though doing so physically pains him as he hears you sob harder.
"No, please. I can't just leave him down here."
Your wails touch his sensitive ears and he just can't bear to see you so broken. In the short time he's known you, you carried a sense of confidence in you and now it was just gone.
He continues his nudging until you finally are standing. Wonwoo watches as you take the sleeve of your flannel and try to clean yourself of your tears the best you can, but the waterworks just don't seem to stop.
It's when he turns away from you that the tears seem to pause before curiosity gets the best of you.
Hiccuping, you watch as Wonwoo gingerly grips Adam’s shirt. "What are you doing?"
Nodding his head to the door he begins to drag your friend's body out of the warehouse.
You stand stunned for a moment before, your feet sluggishly follow after the giant wolf.
After a few minutes of silence, save for the sound of a body being dragged across the dirty floor and the sound of your footsteps, you finally speak up. "Um, thank you. For everything."
You can't tell if he doesn't acknowledge you or if he just pretends not to hear you, but you don't get a physical reaction.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
Finally reaching the front doors of the now abandoned building you are met with the rest of the pack who are sitting on their haunches. Some of them avert their gaze from the body that Wonwoo carries, and the others seem to avoid you. Frankly you are too tired to care what combination it is. All you know is that you still have one task left to do for the night and it's going to be a long night.
Your feet carry you farther away from the pack and in the direction that you came. They watch as you stumble slightly before righting yourself and carrying on.
Seongcheol eyes Wonwoo and the man who shirt he still grips between his teeth, before going to take his place.
Cheol, what're you doing? Wonwoo asks, feeling the alpha push him away from the body.
I'm taking over. I think you're needed elsewhere. Is all he says before dragging the blonde in your direction. The rest of the pack starts to shake out their limbs as they follow their pack leader.
Finally catching on, Wonwoo jogs ahead of the group to catch up to you, and he seems to meet you just in time as you lose your footing. Sliding himself under your body he picks you up.
Seeming to get the hint, you adjust your body so that you're clinging to Wonwoo's body. The heat radiating off him is enough to make your aching body slowly drift off to sleep and you mumble quietly, "Please wake me up when we get there."
You aren't quite sure where there is, but right now, you feel safe and could care less about where that is.
You feel small vibrations coming from the wolf, and that just seals the deal as you doze off.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
You wake to the feeling of being carried into a log cabin, the same one you were abducted to. Your eyes look over a now clothed shoulder into the front of the house and notice it's still dark out. You still have time.
Tapping one of the arms that's wrapped around you, you glance up to see the bespectacled face of Wonwoo. You can't help but realize how firm his arms are, but you cough quietly and push the thought away.
"You guys don't happen to have enough wood to build a pyre, do you?
Wonwoo looks at you then stares off into the distance for a moment. Which to you, makes it looks like he's zoning out before his eyes refocus.
"Yeah, we should have some by the shed."
You expect him to take you there, but are more surprised when he starts to carry you up the stairs.
"Where are we going?"
Wonwoo hums slightly, "well, you're still covered in blood. I just figured you might want to clean up. We brought your car over so I can bring up your duffel bag while you shower."
Your cheeks heat slightly as you imagine how bad you must smell to him right now. It's only when you stretch in his hold that you can feel the grime and dry blood covering you.
"Showering would be nice," you admit.
Wonwoo gives you a gentle smile as he sets you down. "I'll be back with your duffel bag in a few minutes. Then once you're ready we can do whatever it is you need to."
You try to muster up a smile, but you feel like it was more of a grimace as you watch him walk back down the steps.
Closing the door, you let out a hefty sigh. Flicking on the light, you finally got a good look at yourself in the mirror. You have dried blood caked in your hair, and you can assume it's only yours as you run your fingers through your hair. Scalp feeling tender under your touch. You have scratch marks across your cheek which have clotted slightly, but you know it'll probably reopen when you go to clean up. Your eyes drift lower as you notice dark spots blooming on your skin, you can't help the way you lean into the mirror to get a better look. You can make out the thumb on one side of your neck and the rest of the fingers on the other side from where you were being choked by the vampire. Turning away from the mirror you turn the shower and on that is when you notice how dirty your hands are. Your fingernails have blood and dirt caked under them, and there's some in the creases of your knuckles.
A humorless laugh passes your lips as you step into the shower, that turns into a hiss as the warm water touches the cuts and scrapes on your body. You watch numbingly as the dirty water swirls at your feet before it finally starts to run clear. Deciding it's been long enough you reach for the soap and begin to clean up.
As you turn the shower off you hear a knock on the bathroom door. Grabbing a towel you wrap it around you and open the door a crack to see Wonwoo on the other side.
"I got your duffel bag," Wonwoo says, holding it up for you to see.
Stepping back, you open the door further so you can take the bag from him. It's only then that Wonwoo sees that the cut on your face has reopened. "I'll be back with the med kit once you're dressed, alright?"
You just nod and shut the door, almost like you're moving on auto pilot at this point.
You throw on a pair of sweats and an old t-shirt as you make a home for yourself on the toilet seat.
There's another knock on the door, and you clear your throat, "Come in."
Wonwoo opens the door slowly and peeks his head around the door to see that you're waiting for him.
He kneels down in front of you as he opens the first aid kit. Opening up an antiseptic wipe he tells you that it will sting and you grit your teeth in anticipation. The cold wipe meets your cheek and you suck in a breath as it burns.
"Almost done," Wonwoo murmurs, finishing the cleaning process before tossing the wipe in the trash. Looking in the first aid kit he finds gauze and some tape to place over the cuts on your skin.
"That should be okay for now," he tells you, as he packs up the first aid kit.
"Thank you Wonwoo."
He freezes for a brief second as his cheeks warm up, before giving you a small grin, "you're welcome."
He places the first aid on the counter and exchanges it for your duffel bag and holds out his hand.
You glance at it momentarily before placing your hand in his as you follow his lead.
He stops at a room and lets go of your hand so he can place the duffel bag on the bed. You peer into the room and notice the various stacks of books on the nightstand and the shelves on one side of the room. You don't see much as he takes your hand again and leads you down the stairs.
Your eyes dance across the room and notice some of the pack members are in the living room and a few are in the kitchen making food. The living room has a large couch and some smaller lounge chairs with a coffee table in the middle. Knick knacks are placed on the coffee table and the entertainment center where there's a decent size TV.
The kitchen has a 'kiss the chef' sign above the stove with a pot that seems to have some food in it as you can smell something good being made.
There is a tall man standing behind the stove with a pink apron and he gives whatever is inside a stir, before scooping some contents out in some bowls. Wonwoo stops in the kitchen and you awkwardly stand there behind the counter as you watch him speak with the tall man who nods and dishes out another bowl with a smile. Bringing the bowls over he sets them on the counter and pulls a chair out for you.
You glance at him hesitantly and slide into the chair. This just felt so strange to you. Most of the hunters in the community all knew that werewolves preyed on humans, more specifically their hearts. They weren't tame, and easy to anger. What was happening in this pack?
You can't help but stare down at the stew in front of you, and then glance at Wonwoo who is scooping some into his mouth but pauses as he feels your stare.
"It's deer meat if that's what you're curious about. Whatever questions you have we can answer later, for now just eat."
You nod again and lift the spoon to your lips. The warm broth washes over your taste buds and the piece of meat melts on your tongue.
You don't notice but the man who made the soup, Mingyu, smiles and turns back to dishing out more bowls.
Wonwoo smiles as he watches you finish your stew and stands to rinse them out in the sink.
You fold your hands into your lap as you watch him dry the utensils and bowls, and you let your eyes wander over the expanse of his back and shoulders before averting your gaze as he turns around.
"Ready to go out back?"
"Yeah."
Walking out back you notice that a pyre has already been set up and there's a body wrapped in a white sheet up top. Tears begin to prick your eyes as you realize they had set everything up for you.
"How'd you know?"
"Just figured. We might be wolves, but we do know some things from the grape vine."
"Do you have the keys to my car?"
Fishing them out of his pocket Wonwoo sets them in your hand and follows you around the house.
Opening the trunk of your car you dig around until you find a gas can, lighter and salt.
"Alright, I'm ready," you say, turning to him.
The two of you make the trek back to the pyre and Wonwoo sits back as he watches you dump the gasoline over the wood and covered body.
Dropping the gas can onto the grass you pick up the containers of salt and start shaking them out over Adam's covered body. Looking over your shoulder you tell Wonwoo, "Salt and burn the bones so they don't come back as a vengeful spirit."
Wonwoo just nods silently.
Stepping back so that you're standing next to him you flick open the lighter. You and Wonwoo share a silent look before you return your gaze to the pyre and toss the lighter on it. The pyre lights and orange dances over both of your features.
During all of this, some of the pack members had made their appearance on the back porch to observe your hunter's funeral. Their ears perk up though when you start talking.
Your eyes are glassy as you stare into the fire. The smell of burning flesh starts to become apparent, but at this point you're used to it, the various cases you've taken resulting in something similar to this.
"You know, I had no idea about this life. Had no idea that a world outside of humans existed. Only heard of vampires and ghosts and thought they were nothing more than the boogeyman." You murmur, but you know that the werewolf next to you can hear you clearly.
"Only found out about this life when my parents bought an ornate painting from an auction. Didn't think anything of it until one day things just started happening around the house, things moved out of place or moved to another room. Then things escalated. Things started being thrown violently. Had a vase shatter by my head one evening while we were having dinner."
You suck in a shaky breath before continuing, "the following morning both of my parents were found dead in their bed. I was chased out into the street by whatever it was. I guess our house had been watched by a couple of hunters for a while. Following the painting. Turns out it was Adam and his father, they were the ones that introduced me to this life."
Wonwoo gently takes your hand in his and you give it a small squeeze.
"Once you know of the unknown it's really hard to look the other way and pretend everything is normal. They showed me the ropes and took me on hunts. They essentially adopted me into their tiny family."
You didn't realize it, but a single tear had run down your cheek as you were brought back into your memories. You chuckle dryly and use your free hand to rub your face. "I guess there's some supernatural cases that even seasoned hunters don't know about."
Wonwoo glances down at you before flicking his gaze over his shoulder. He knew that the rest of the pack was listening to your story. He just knows that there's going to be more questions in the morning.

"Our high school used to do swim camps up at this very lake every summer," Soonyoung spoke, bringing the flashlight closer to his face as he told the ghost story. "They stopped coming after one of the kids drowned, and more kids would disappear if they ventured out onto the water. Rumor has it that the original kid to disappear was one of the best swimmers on the team."
"Hold up," Chan raises his drink at Soonyoung, "How does the best swimmer on the team end up drowning?"
Soonyoung shot him a glare, "well, I was about to tell you before you so rudely interrupted."
You snickered into your drink as you watched your two friends from camp bicker back and forth.
"Okay, okay, anyways!" Soonyoung spoke up so he could pick up where he left off. "The police reports mentioned foul play, but there was no proof of it since they were never able to recover his body."
Squinting your eyes at the storyteller you scoff, "There's no way you came up with this on your own."
"I most certainly did," Soonyoung raises his chin at you, but falters under your stare. "Okay, fine. You win. I found a snippet in the paper of a boy named Seungkwan who disappeared a couple years ago here, but they never did find his body anywhere."
"Well that's lovely," you mutter, resting your chin in your hand.
The three of you grew quiet for a bit as you stared into the fire.
What a horrible way to go, you think.
Lifting your drink to your lips you hesitate, "Hey, how many people went missing?"
Soonyoung and Chan look at each other and shrug.
"Something like thirteen, or so," Soonyoung mutters, quickly taking a sip of his drink.
"You don't actually believe him, right?" Chan teased, giving your knee a slight tap with cold fingers.
"Pft, no. Never," you said, blowing a raspberry.
"Ah c'mon, someone's scared," Chan teased, giving you a smirk.
"Am not."
"Then prove it," Chan said.
You couldn't place it but something about the way things were going unsettled you.
"And how am I supposed to do that?" You pretend to be unphased.
Chan looks over his shoulder to the dock, and you miss the way his lips pull into a grin.
"You could take the canoe to the middle of the lake and sit there for five minutes and then come back to shore."
"I-, Soonyoung tell him I don't have to do this," you plead, giving him your best puppy dog eyes.
Quickly averting his gaze from you he looks away, "No, nope. Don't give me that look YN."
Pouting you stand, "fine, if it's the only way."
Every step you take away from the fire plunges you further into darkness, until eventually the sea of your shoes meet the wood of the dock. Turning over your shoulder you see your two friends give you a thumbs up.
Sucking in a breath you step into the canoe, and it rocks under your weight until you finally settle into the seat with the oar in your hand.
"Just a canoe ride, nothing bad is going to happen," you reassure yourself as you pull away from the dock.
The two boys who were sitting by the fire had dissipated into mist as you moved closer to the center of the lake.
Finally reaching the center you pull out your phone, the light blinding you slightly as you go to set the timer. Looking up from your phone you shout to your friends who are sitting by the fire.
"I made it!" Your voice echoes off the water.
When you don't hear anything you turn around in your seat to look back. When your eyes are met with the dying light of the campfire you begin to panic.
"C'mon guys, this isn't funny anymore," you shout again, beginning to pick up your paddle.
Dipping it into the water you're met with a harsh tug on the end of the oar. Screaming you loosen your grip which results in your oar disappearing into the dark waters below you.
"No, no, no. This can't be happening," you mutter, gripping the edge of the canoe you lean over trying to see if you can spot your paddle anywhere with zero luck.

From below the surface of the water a boy stares up with milky eyes, watching the way the canoe causes ripples in the once calm water.
»»————- ➴ ————-««
"I'm going to kill them," you seethe, glaring at the water below.
As if your words spurred something into motion, a grey hand shot out of the water and grabbed your wrist in an iron-like hold. Your screams are abruptly cut off as you are yanked into the murky lake water. You can't stop the way your body coughs as you inhale even more lake water as you are pulled deeper.
Trying to wrestle your wrist free you open your eyes, only to see the blurry image of a boy with blonde hair. You can make out that his skin has lost its color and is now tinged grey and blue in areas. Parts of his skin are missing in places, like around his jaw and neck most likely from things eating away at him as he decomposed. The last thing you can barely make out are his eyes, lifeless and replaced with a milky iris.
Your attempts to escape become feeble as your body slowly shuts down as you are pulled to a watery grave. The pressure on your lungs becomes a burning sensation that mixes with the copious amounts of water you had inhaled. Bubbles of air seemingly escaping from your lungs without your consent. Eyelids grow heavy as the last bubbles slip past your lips.
Twelve other bodies float along the bottom of the lake, seeming to watch as you slowly drown at the hand of the boy with blonde hair, before disappearing.

"YN LN has been missing for the last four days after going up Gardner Lake. Police have searched the surrounding campgrounds for any evidence of their whereabouts, and have combed the bottom of the lake. If you have any news regarding the disappearance of LB please contact your local authorities."
The chief of police tosses the paper onto his desk after reading the most recent headline. This would make it the fourteenth cold case in the last three years where nothing has been found at Gardner Lake. Sticking the newspaper with the case file he adds it to the box of other disappearances before shelving it away. With a heavy sigh he grabs his coat and keys before giving the box one final look before he shuts off his office light and closes the door behind him.

More angst?? 😭
So I had this idea before bed last night and I started writing it before falling asleep. It's a little horror blurb for Seungkwan and it's gonna be spooky. 😈
