HEY EVERYONE I was supposed to do a jefftony or magypsies drawing for pride month but my markers died and I couldn't so I'm going to give my arguments why jefftony can be canon since I'd like to post something in pride month First of all we are not going to take the novel seriously (literally Ness and Porky become brothers so we must not take the novel seriously).

With that clear, let's start xd, OBVIOUSLY we ALL know that the dialogue where Tony says "Ahh Jeff I just dreamed that you and I were taking a walk together" was done like that ON PURPOSE, and although it sounds strange, the final dialogue from Jeff about Tony, the one of "Ahh, you saw it, that Tony has a heart of gold" is also phrased that way on purpose, I'd like to analyze those two sentences so you understand what I mean.

I know this will sound strange too, but I think it's necessary to compare the subtext of the Ness and Paula couple, and the one of Jeff and Tony. For example, when Paula joins Ness, we all knew that the game would ship them because Paula is a girl and Ness is a boy, so if you see them together, you will ship them too, also the game makes you understand that there is tension between them for the dialogues of the game's NPCs and the simple fact that one is a girl and the other is a boy.

BUT now suppose you don't know that Earthbound touches on inclusive themes, if a player who doesn't know that, sees Tony and Jeff just like that, it won't generate the same impact as with Ness and Paula because Jeff is a boy and well Tony too, then just It will be like "oh they're friends" unlike with Ness and Paula you see them and it's like "oh they like each other".

That's why just by seeing them you just think that they have nothing between them, but the game decides to take a rather ingenious path, as the player will not identify the first time that they have feelings for each other, what the game does is (as I mentioned before) make the dialogues that one of them says about the each other something "exaggerated" to put it in some way, or rather not exaggerated but VERY obvious so that you suspect that they like each other.

Also am i the only one that already realize that when the talk about each other they say the "Ahhh" as if they were sighing for love when speaking or thinking of the other.

So that's all i wanted to say, happy pride month! :D
