Total Eclipse Of The Heart
Prompt: After almost a year of negative pregnancy test, Jill finally got a positive test, but not all is as magical and special as things could have been.
Content Warning(s): Pregnancy, labor and delivery, difficult labor and delivery, birth complications, c-section.
Rating: M
Jill just laid there and silently bawled her eyes out as she was getting stitched up. She and Chris wanted this more than anything, they wanted a baby more than anything, but now their little one was struggling to hold on to his life that had just started.
AO3 Link
She was lying upside down in their bed, not knowing what exactly to do or feel at that moment.
“Okay Redfield, you got this!” Jill said to herself. “It’s a fucking stick, it’s not gonna kill you. Change your life forever, yes, but it’s not gonna kill you.” Jill ranted to herself and held the stick in her hands.
“Are you okay?” Chris asked as he walked into their room. He laughed when he saw Jill lying upside down on their bed.
“No! I’m being defeated by a stick! A fucking stick!” Jill frowned. The two had been married for almost three years and had been talking about possibly having a kid for the past year.
“Okay, come on.” Chris walked over to the bed and picked Jill up and sat her in front of him. “Jill, it’s a stick. All you have to do is pee on it.”
“I know, I’m just…nervous,” Jill admitted. They had been trying for a baby for almost a year and Jill had already gotten eight negative tests. Yes, this upset her a little, but she knew things could be a lot worse.
“I just, I feel like maybe it’s just not the right time. I feel like if this one is negative, maybe we should stop actively trying, just let it happen if it happens.” Jill let out a long sigh before looking down at the test in her hand.
Jill was normally the positive one between the two, so seeing her so upset hurt Chris very badly.
“Hey,” Chris started, he grabbed Jill’s chin and brought her face up to meet his lips for a kiss, “If that’s what you want then that’s fine. If this one turns out negative then we can just let things happen on their own as you said.”
Jill looked up at Chris and smiled before kissing him again. “Okay, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” Jill got up off the bed and took a deep breath before opening the bathroom door and going to take the test.
“I can’t just sit here and wait. You can watch it if you want, but I’m gonna go finish reading that report I need for my meeting tomorrow,” Jill said as she opened the bathroom door and put the test down on the bathroom sink.
Jill had already read the report she was referring to, but she couldn’t just sit there and look at the test and wait.
Those three minutes seemed like three hours, she was sitting at her desk just dozing off. It was only when Chris called her that she snapped back into reality.
“Jill!” Chris called out. Jill’s eyes widened and she ran to their bathroom. Chris turned around and looked at her. He looked up at her and smiled.
She knew what that meant.
“Really?” Jill asked, her voice muffled due to her hands being over her mouth. Chris couldn’t say anything, he just smiled at her.
“Chris…” Jill’s voice was just above a whisper. She couldn’t believe that she had her first positive pregnancy test.
“We’re gonna have a baby?” Jill questioned, still unable to wrap her head around what just happened. Chris cupped her face and his thumb ran over her cheekbone. “We are going to have a baby…!”
Those nine months just seemed to fly by. Jill was lucky and had a relatively easy pregnancy, with barely any morning sickness or nausea. Because of this, Jill didn’t stop working, she said she would take it kind of easy, but still wouldn’t stop until she had the baby.
She did stay home whenever she needed to though, but she didn’t like it. She would get super bored and a bored Jill was usually a bad Jill. She would mainly call Chris and tell him her water broke just to see what he would do.
“How long are you going to be out after you have the baby?” Rebecca spun around in her chair to look at Jill.
“10 weeks. I’m gonna be working from home. I'll still have cases, I just won’t physically be here and I’ll be doing more of the behind-the-scenes stuff because I’m one of the original 11 which is a huge perk in this matter,” Jill said with a small laugh.
“I still don’t see why you’re still working at 35 weeks pregnant. You were out on the field today after a BOW attack. I know you didn’t do anything you shouldn’t have, but you were walking and moving around a lot and I honestly thought you went into labor. I know you can still see your toes and you look like you’re barely 5 months pregnant, but I was still super worried.” Rebecca told Jill as they both started getting ready to leave work for the day.
“Honestly, me too. I was having bad braxton hicks contractions and thought I was gonna start having actual contractions after 45 minutes. I think I’m gonna stay home tomorrow and rest just to be safe, Fetus has been moving a lot since we got back.”
“Please do, I want a chunky niece or nephew that I won’t have to worry about breaking while holding them.” Rebecca laughed as they walked out of their shared office and down the hall to Chris’ office.
“Well, I’ll text you tomorrow. Night,” Rebecca said, waving off Jill. “Talk to you tomorrow. Night Becca,” Jill responded before opening Chris’ office door.
“You ready to go?” Jill asked after she closed the door.
“Just about, just submitting this report. Kid still active?” Chris asked as he turned his chair around and put his hand on Jill’s stomach.
“Extremely! This kid was kicking and moving a second ago. I’m telling you now, if fetus keeps this up I’m not gonna get any sleep tonight.”
“You gonna stay home tomorrow?” Chris asked as he felt how active their unborn child was.
“Probably, I’m so extremely tired, and little one is probably not going to sleep tonight.” Jill pouted.
Chris gave a soft laugh at Jill’s pouty face before he turned his laptop off and got his things ready to go.
“Well I’m ready to go so c’mon, maybe the kid will be calm by the time we get home,” Chris said as he opened his office door.
“That’s what I’m hoping for,” Jill laughed. The drive from work to their house wasn’t too long, only 25 minutes, but during the drive home, Chris noticed Jill shifting in her seat every now and then.
“You okay?” Chris asked, you could hear the concern in his voice. “Yeah, I’m okay, kid just keeps pushing on my blather so now I need to pee.” Jill laughed as she reassured her husband.
When they finally got home, Chris got out of the car and went around to open Jill’s door. He stood behind the door and watched as Jill got up and then just stood there, typing something up on her phone.
“Jill, what are you working on? We just got home and you need to relax. Can you leave the email or whatever you're working on for tomorrow and come inside?” Chris asked. “I would, but my water just broke,” Jill said as she continued to look at her phone.
“Jill, are you being for real!?” Chris asked her. Since Jill would always prank him and say her water broke, he didn’t know if she was messing with him or not. “Deadass. Give me a minute to process and then I’m gonna go change and you can grab the hospital bags and food because they won’t let me eat.”
Not knowing if it was his training or seeing how calm his wife was, Chris had managed to stay calm and did everything Jill asked him to do while she changed.
“So, you’ve been having conversations and didn’t think to tell me?” Chris questioned as they got back to the car with everything Jill wanted and needed.
“I mean they weren’t bad so I kind of just let it happen. I honestly thought I just peed myself at first because I had just sneezed and this kid has been moving a lot and I already really had to pee.” Jill shrugged. Luckily her contractions still weren’t painful when she got to the hospital and since her water had already broken they went ahead and admitted her and got her into a room.
“So do you know what you’re having?” Jill’s nurse asked as she got her settled in her hospital bed. “No, we wanted some surprises in our life.” Jill chuckled as she watched her nurse put some monitors on her stomach.
“Well, I’ll make sure to put that in your chart. You were at four centimeters when you came in so I’ll be back to check how far along you are in half an hour, but if you think you feel anything I will check you right away. If you need anything just hit the call bottom and I’ll be here as fast as I can.”
Jill thanked her nurse before she left and then looked over at Chris with a nervous smile. “It’s happening. We’re gonna take an actual baby home by the end of the week!”
“And you said me making sure everything was ready last week was me being too controlling.” Chris teased.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah! Hey, you might want to let Piers know you won’t be there this week and fill him in on your cases.” Jill said after she grabbed her phone to text Rebecca and Claire.
Both Jill and Chris were able to relax and take a nap for about an hour before Jill started to feel uncomfortable.
A couple of hours after Jill was admitted, her contractions started to pick up which caused her to panic a little. The only position that made her comfortable and relaxed was sitting crisscrossed and leaning back on her hands while Chris rubbed her back. Her head rested on her shoulder as she did her best to keep her breathing steady.
“It’s like—it feels like that one time whenever I fell down that elevator shaft and landed on my knife.” Jill managed to say. Talking seemed to keep her mind off of everything and as much as she wanted some quiet time, she was making Chris talk to her about anything and everything to keep her mind off of the pain.
After a couple more hours of contractions and moving around to try to get somewhat comfortable, Jill had finally found some type of relief by laying on her side a specific way.
“Your kid won’t let me relax.” Jill groaned as she tried her best to close her eyes for at least 20 minutes. She had one hand on her bump and the other putting pressure on her lower back which was helping to relieve some pain.
“Now it’s just my kid?” Chris joked. “Fetus has been good up until now, so yes, now that the kid is misbehaving, it’s just your kid. God, I’m so ready to stop calling our baby ‘it’.” Jill chuckled and moved her hair out of her face.
“I’m getting sweaty and my hair is sticking to my forehead and it’s kind of pissing me off. Can you put my hair u-oh shit…!” Jill wasn’t able to finish her sentence before she got another bad contraction.
“Chris, I love you, but please don’t touch me right now. I know I asked you to put my hair up, but give me a second.” Jill said as sweetly as possible before she buried her head in one of her pillows.
Jill reached her hands out to grab another pillow to put under her hip but couldn’t find it, lucky for her, she had an amazing husband who was there to help her get comfortable.
After another couple of hours, Jill’s contractions started to get worse and were now starting to kick her ass to the point where she started crying. Even though she felt like she was dying, Jill was still extremely stubborn and was refusing the epidural even though she had been in labor for a total of 30 now.
She was doing everything she could to not get an epidural, but after a very scary drop in her baby’s blood pressure and her developing a high fever, she was rushed into an emergency c-section.
“Okay, I don’t want to scare either of you, but I am letting you know baby is not gonna cry once they come out. From what we can see right now, the cord is around the neck. We’re gonna rush baby back so you guys won’t get to see your baby for a little bit, but I promise everything else looks perfect!”
Chris looked over at Jill and saw her close her eyes to hold back tears. Even though the doctor promised that ‘everything else looks perfect’, she was still scared.
Her child wasn’t breathing. How could things still be considered perfect?!
Both of their hearts broke when they saw their baby being rushed away and they didn’t hear anything.
No cries, not even a whimper. Just a blue, little baby that was barely moving.
“I know you’re scared, but your baby has steady vital signs right now so I need you to focus on that. There is a heartbeat and your baby IS still alive.” One of the nurses came back after a couple of minutes and looked down at Jill.
“Your baby is already getting color back, I promise everything will be okay. Once you’re in recovery I promise I will give you an update.”
Jill just lied there and silently bawled her eyes out as she was getting stitched up. She and Chris wanted this more than anything, they wanted a baby more than anything, but now their little one was struggling to hold on to his life that had just started.
Chris was barely keeping it together, he let a few tears slip out here and there, but he knew he had to keep it together for the both of them so he just sat next to Jill and stroked her head and kissed her occasionally.
“Can you just put me out? Can you put me out please?” Jill begged as she started shaking.
“I can’t since we’re already almost done here, but they can give you something when you get to recovery.”
Jill looked up at Chris, she was looking at him for comfort while also trying to comfort him because she knew this was just as hard on him as it was on her.
Once Jill was stitched up and taken to her recovery room, her nurse came to help her relax and get as comfortable as possible.
“I know it’s extremely hard to relax right now so I’m just going to give you something to get your blood pressure down and it will knock you out within the hour. I’m going to go check on your baby and see if I can get an update. If you need or want anything just let me know,” Jill’s nurse said in a soft voice.
After Jill’s nurse had checked on her baby and given both Chris and Jill an update, Jill fell asleep.
Chris stepped out once he knew Jill was out cold and went to his car to just let himself feel all his emotions and to let Rebecca and Claire know what was going on.
After a while, Chris got himself together as best as he could and went back up to Jill’s room and sat next to her, holding her hand and watching her, making sure that she wasn’t having a nightmare.
Once she woke up, she had a breakdown, she cried and cried and held onto Chris for dear life before her nurse had to give her more medication because her blood pressure had spiked again. The medication calmed her down and put her to sleep again.
Once she woke up again, Jill sat in her hospital bed, biting at her fingers. They still weren’t allowed to see their baby because they still had him under close observation in the NICU. It had been six hours since her surgery and they still hadn’t gotten an update since the first one, six hours ago.
After sitting in silence for 3 more hours, Jill just started crying again. Chris got up from his chair and went to hug her.
“Hey, everything is gonna be okay. We’re gonna see the baby soon.” He reassured her.
“I know, I’m just so frustrated! I just wanted to come in, have my baby, and be happy. I wanted to just have that moment of our child being put on my chest and all the tears of joy, but instead, we’re both crying tears of sorrow, and our baby almost died! We still don’t even know if we have a son or a daughter. I’m so exhausted and frustrated!”
Jill was just so over everything at this point. Her body had worked so hard and she didn’t feel like the work she and her body had done over the past nine months paid off.
“I know you’re upset and frustrated, but right now all we can do is hope for the best. Your nurse said the baby was okay. Hopefully, we will get to see for ourselves soon.”
“Have you talked to Claire and Rebecca?” Jill asked as she wrapped herself in Chris’ arms. “I told them that little one was here and there were complications, but everyone is alive. Claire said to let her know if we need anything and Rebecca said to take our time with updates and just to focus on us right now.”
Both Chris and Jill sat in that quiet room for what felt like forever, but after a total of 13 hours, their child was finally brought to them. Both Jill and Chris immediately started crying as they saw and heard their baby cry for the first time.
“Alright Mom and Dad, here is your healthy 5 pounds 8 ounces, 18.2 inches, baby boy.”
Jill let out a small laugh and wiped her tears before looking up at her husband. “We have a baby boy?” She whispered. “We have a son..!” Chris said excitedly.
The nurse rolled the incubator closer to Jill so the baby could finally be put on his mother's chest. He stopped crying as soon as he was against her. Jill couldn’t help but cry more.
“We’re gonna go ahead and keep both of you here for about three days. We just want to make sure both of your vitals are stable and we want to keep an eye on your spleen because it looks a little inflamed. Other than that you are both perfect.” The nurse smiled and put a blanket over the infant to keep him warm.
“Do you guys have a name picked out?” The nurse asked as she made sure both Jill and the baby were settling in fine. Both Jill and Chris looked at each other and then down at their son.
“Archer Elliot,” Chris said proudly.
Archer was his dad’s name and Elliot was Jill’s twin brothers name who passed when he and Jill were in collage.
“That's a beautiful name. I will go ahead and bring a birth certificate whenever you’re ready to fill it out and if you want and or need anything else just let me know.” Both Jill and Chris thanked the nurse before socking up their baby boy.
“Awe, look at you, you’re so small…” Jill whispered with her eyes glued on her newfound love. “He looks too much like you.” Jill chuckled as she looked over at Chris.
Chris laughed in response before whipping Jill’s stray tears off of her cheeks.
It was true, although Archer had just been born, he was already a spitting image of his dad. The same nose, face shape, lips, and the same black hair, some red scattered here and there.
“I’m gonna be mad if he didn’t at least get my eye color.” Jill joked. She was already madly in love with this little boy and she wanted to hold him closer even though he was already skin-to-skin with her.
“Is it just me or does the love you have for him feel different, almost like it’s so strong that it hurts.” Jill looked over at Chris and then back down at their son.
“It’s not just you. My whole body hurts in a way.” Chris admitted to Jill.
Jill closed her eyes for a minute and just embraced her little boy. Chris quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a picture of the two before brushing some of Jill’s hair out of her face and kissing her forehead.
Jill and her little one ended up falling asleep soon after being reunited because they both had a very long past few days. Jill was giving birth to her son and her son was busy being born and fighting for his life.
Chris took this time to send an update to Rebecca and Claire. He also sent out an email to the team to let them know he and Jill would be out for a while and that Piers would be holding down the fort till he got back to work.
Chris also took this time to just admire Jill and their son. He knew his wife was amazing and strong, but after everything she had endured over the past couple of days, Chris had a new admiration for her. He just sat there and admired them for two hours before Jill had woken up from her nap.
“You are fucking amazing, Jill.” Chris smiled down at Jill and kissed her forehead before he caressed her temple.
“Can you help me sit up so I can pass him over so I can send a picture to Claire and Becca,” Jill said as she passed Archer over to his dad so he could place him in his bassinet and help her sit up before Chris couple pick Archer up again and sit next to Jill on the hospital bed.
Archer settled perfectly into his father's arms before letting out a yawn. Jill smiled and then took the picture and sent it to Claire and Rebecca.
“Oh, those are blue eyes,” Chris said after seeing his son open his eyes just for a second. “He’s so perfect, even if his eyes don’t stay blue, he’s still perfect. I mean, look at him.” Jill rested her head on Chris’ shoulder and leaned down to kiss Archer's head.
“He is most definitely perfect and very adorable,” Chris said softly before he leaned down to kiss Jill.
The two of them were extremely grateful that they were able to get a lot of help and advice from the nurses for the few days they were there, but they were so ready to go home so the day both Jill and Archer were to get discharged Chris and Jill were quick to get all their belongings together and themselves ready to go.
After Chris got all the bags in his car and Jill signed her discharge papers, Archer was put into his car seat and they were officially ready to go home.
“We have a baby. We have a whole baby,” Jill said as she looked down at Archer who was in his car seat. Though he was three days old, it had just hit her that she had a baby.
“Yes, we do, he’s been here for a few days now.” Chris chuckled as he leaned down to kiss Jill before fixing his son’s blanket.
“Are you ready to go?” Chris asked Jill. She looked back at Chris and smiled before looking back at their son.
“I’m so ready. I’m ready to go home as a family of three.”
Chris smiled and kissed her again before picking up Archer's car seat.
“Alright, then, let’s go.”

I wanna write a collage au with Sherry and Jake so bad! I honestly just might do a wip because I have a headcannon that they study together and Jake had a hard time studying because he had ADHD and Sherry had trouble with some things because she’s dyslexic. They normally just sit there to keep each other accountable, but Sherry will help him focus and Jake helps her comprehend things and tell her words and their meanings when she struggles.

In case you haven’t noticed I have dyslexia and it’s hard to read/write properly if I don’t have a yellow overlay over what I’m doing because the words will bunch up, so yeah, sorry about that🥲

So since I’ve been working on my Shake (Sherry X Jake) AU, I have a headcannon that Leon LOVES being a grandpa! Leon loves being a grandparent so much that sometimes it seems he likes being a grandparent better than a parent lol! Claire also loved being a grandma, but she hates being called grandma because she still had two under 10, but she does love it

A New Chapter In Our Story
Prompt: Jake and Sherry get a new job positions and have to move their family, but they get a fresh start
Warning(s): None
Rating: E
“I am ready to have a home and not just a house though." Sherry smiled and took one last look at the apartment.
"I just, I never imagined this for me-for us. Don't get me wrong, I love you and I'm so madly in love with our little boy, but I feel like I'm dreaming. I never thought we would slow down a little, get married, have a kid, and now have an official home. I got so used to the fast pace that nothing like this ever crossed my mind."
Ao3 Link
Edit September 2023: Just realized in all my other parts Jake doesn’t have a mom so I had to fix that haha
Packing was something Sherry did better when she was alone because when she was in go mode, she was in go mode. She was packing up all the last-minute things they need for their move. They were moving from Washington to Boston. Even with her foot in a boot due to a broken ankle, she received from her last mission, she was kicking ass right now.
Chris, Claire, and Leon had made a couple of trips down to Boston with Sherry to help her move a lot of stuff while Jake stayed back with their son. Sherry figured it was better for Jake to stay back with their seven-month-old so his schedule wouldn't be thrown off.
Leon and Chris had come over right after Jake left so they could take all the bedroom furniture and the last of Aiden's bedroom furniture.
Their son did have an appointment that day so Sherry had Jake take him while she stayed back and packed all the things that they had left at the apartment so they could still live there until they had to leave for Boston.
The move was something very last minute, they only had a month to prepare. After the Chef of the DSO Boston headquarters offered Jake and Sherry a new position there, they had to hurry and find a house.
They were lucky to find a house that wasn't too far away from their new office and big enough for the three of them to live very comfortably.
The decision was hard on Sherry and Jake but since they had worked with the Boston team many times before and every mission they had helped the Boston team on was a success, and the fact that they knew how things operated over there, helped them come to a decision.

Hey, just finished up here with Rebecca, are Aiden and I allowed to come home yet?
SuperWife🤍💍
Ha! I know you're joking but no actually. Can you two stay out for a while? I need to focus and get Aiden's room done and I can't do that with you two here. You are both too distracting.
Jake❤️
You know what, I'm gonna take that as a compliment...I guess Aiden and I will find something to do. Need me to pick anything up when I am allowed to come home?
SuperWife🤍💍
Of course, you are...and yes, please! I need more tape for all the boxes I've already packed. Also, send me a picture of our kid, I haven't seen him today!
Jake❤️
Okay and will do! Let me know if you need anything else.

Sherry put her phone back in her pocket and looked at her son's room and sighed, she had started packing clothes, diapers, and other things like that the night before when he was asleep. She knew his room was going to take her a while, not only because of how much stuff he had but because of how emotional it was for her.
After about two and a half hours, Sherry could hear the sound of the door being opened and closed.
"We're back!" Jake called out from the front door. He was shocked to see almost everything packed and ready to go.
"I'm in Aiden's room!" Sherry called back. Jake smiled and then walked through the small, almost completely empty, apartment to their son's room.
"Looks like you've been doing a lot of work while we were gone, supergirl." Jake chuckled.
"I've been putting off his room all morning, it's kinda sad to take all his things down and put them in boxes." Sherry looked around at the almost empty nursery. It made her sad to see all his pictures and things put away.
"Hey, how was his appointment?" Sherry asked, bringing her attention to her son and husband and away from packing for a minute.
Jake smiled and kissed Sherry's head before sitting down on the floor next to her.
"It went very well. Rebecca just said to bring him back one to two times a month so she can check him out."
Since both Jake and Sherry were genetically modified and had active cells of the C and G virus living and flowing through their body, Aiden was born with both the C and G virus mutations in his blood. Rebecca was always checking Aiden out to make sure he was okay since he could be considered a BOW because he had both the G and C viruses. So far, he was harmless and they wanted to keep it that way.
"Okay, that's good." Sherry smiled as she took Aiden out of his car seat. "You look wide awake bubs. Did you just wake up from a nap?" Sherry smiled at her son. His blue-grey eyes were wide open and his red hair was a little messy meaning he took a very good nap.
"He took a two-hour nap. I went to the office to sign some last-minute papers and I went to go get more tape like you asked me to and he slept the whole time which is kind of surprising. I was also going to get you flowers but I felt like now wasn't a good time because, well, you know," Jake added. Sherry looked over at Jake and smiled before kissing him.
Ever since they were dating, Jake would bring home flowers for Sherry if he was out without her. He did it on their wedding day, on their honeymoon, and every day she was in the hospital whenever Aiden was born.
"You are the best husband ever." Sherry giggled as she got up with Aiden and walk to the kitchen.
Jake smiled at Sherry's compliment before getting up and following her to the kitchen. He leaned against the kitchen island and watched as Sherry open the cabinet doors and tippy-toed to reach the top shelf.
"Want me to take him?" Jake asked as he saw Sherry getting some glass plates out of the kitchen cupboards.
"Umm, I think he's okay for now, he seems like he will stay still, but can you help me grab the plates please?" Sherry answered as she looked down at her son who seems pretty content and happy with just playing with the necklace she was wearing.
"Hey, we're staying at your Claire and Leon tonight, right?" Sherry asked as she wrapped the dishes in some towels as Jake handed them to her so they wouldn't break during transport.
"Yeah, we can head over to her house as soon as we're done here."
The kitchen only took her about half an hour to pack and luckily for her, Aiden hadn't gotten upset or bored yet but she still needed to hustle.
After Jake took all the kitchen boxes down to the car, Sherry walked over to the last remaining things in the living room and grabbed a pacifier for her son since he was starting to get a little fussy. She sat him on her hip and closed her eyes to think.
She could hear Jake walking back into the apartment and towards her, probably to ask if she was okay or to make a snarky remark.
"Don't say anything. I need you to shut up for a minute so I can make sure I got everything from his room and our room." Sherry's tone was soft, she wasn't by any means trying to be rude, she just need to picture everything in her head to make sure she got everything from the bedrooms.
"There is still a box in our bathroom. Can you go grab it please while I finish up things in here?" Sherry asked as she opened her eyes.
"Yes ma'am." Jake smiled as he went to go do what he was asked. As Jake walked off, Aiden grabbed Sherry's face and smiled at her even though he had a pacifier in his mouth. Even he could tell that his mama was upset and tense.
"You look too much like your daddy." Sherry smiled as she moved Aiden from her left to her right.
"You wanna play while Mama finishes packing?" Aiden smiled up at his mom and then rested his head on her chest as if he was hugging her. He was the sweetest little baby and it melted her heart.
Sherry walked to the few boxes that she had packed the night before and looked threw them for Aiden's toys.
"Baby, do you know where Aiden's toys are?" Sherry called out. "Leon told me that he took some of the boxes by the door this morning so he might have taken them," Jake responded before he walked back to the living room and put the box he was asked to grab by the front door with the other boxes Sherry had packed.
"Now what do we do to keep him occupied?" Sherry looked around at the empty apartment hoping that there was something to keep him in a good mood and occupied for about an hour.
"Here, look." Jake took Aiden from Sherry and put him in an empty box and put his blanket over him. Aiden pulled the blanket down and looked at his dad and giggled.
"Jake, you can't do that." Sherry laughed. "Why not? It's keeping him in one place and he seems pretty happy." Jake defended himself.
"Or I can also do this." Jake grabbed one of the flaps from the box and started pulling his son around in the box.
The baby's laughter only grew louder and wilder. Sherry couldn't help but laugh herself as she watch Jake pull their child around in a box.
"Why don't you take a break and play with him and I can do some packing, you've been on your feet all day, your ankle has to be killing you."
"My ankle is killing me, but I want to keep going, I just want to keep my mind occupied," Sherry answered as she walked over to Jake and Aiden and gave them both a kiss before going back to work.
After an hour of hard work and help from her husband, the house was finally empty. No family pictures, no baby toys scattered around the living room, nothing. Their apartment was 100% empty.
"Where is your gun?" Jake asked Sherry after he came back from putting the last box in the car.
"I left it in the closet while I packed. Yours?" Sherry asked as she grabbed her keys and put her shoe on.
"Mine is in the car's glove box, I didn't feel the need to bring it in."
"Can you put him in his car seat while I go grab mine from the closet and do one final sweep to make sure I got everything?" Sherry asked before she passed Aiden over to Jake.
Jake smiled and happily put his son in his car seat. "We're gonna go spend the night with your grandma so you gotta sleep through the night. Deal?"
Aiden looked up at his dad and smiled.
"Are you ready to go?" Jake asked Sherry as he picked up their son's car seat from the floor and watched her walk back into the living room. Sherry looked back at her husband with a bittersweet smile.
"No...We've lived in this apartment since we were dating and this is the plane we brought Aiden to after he was born. It's bittersweet for me." Sherry admitted truthfully.
"I mean, I know this place isn't home, but I'm still a little sad," Sherry added. Jake put Aiden's car seat back down and then went to go hug Sherry. He knew Sherry didn't do well with change so he knew how difficult this was on her.
"I know, but it's going to be okay. You're allowed to be sad, supergirl." Jake cupped Sherry's face in both hands before kissing her.
"I am ready to have a home and not just a house though." Sherry smiled and took one last look at the apartment.
Sherry had always wanted to settle down before she met Jake, but when they got together she wasn't in a rush at all. She liked the fast pace of life and had never given a thought about getting married, starting a family, and having a home.
"I know how you feel. Before you, I never thought I would slow down or be the person I am today, but after I spent a good two years with you I knew one day we would slow down, but I didn't expect the kid or the home." Jake looked down at Sherry and laughed before kissing her again.
"Two years?" Sherry teased and laughed when she saw that Jake got flustered.
"You know what I mean! I knew I wanted to marry you after our very first date. It was after two years I realized that I was ready to settle down." Jake tilted Sherry's chin up before giving her a quick kiss.
It was reassuring to Sherry to hear that Jake felt the same way as she did, to know that he thought the same as she did.
"Okay, I'm ready now." Sherry looked back over her shoulder and took in the fact that this chapter of their life was over.
"You sure?" Jake wanted to make sure that his wife was ready to officially leave.
"Yeah, I'm ready. I'm also getting hungry and Claire said she would start making dinner at 5:00 and it's almost 5:30." Sherry nudged Jake's shoulder with hers before she grabbed her son's car seat and opened the apartment door.
“Claire is cooking? Hell yes! Let go!”

can you do jake x sherry headcannons doing cute stuff like hugging, cuddling and sleeping together and some little nsfw? hehe thanks!
I’ve been waiting for this question!! I actually have a lot of Jake x Sherry headcnnons so yes!! I also have some specifically for my Jake and Sherry AU so let me know if you would like you see that as well!
This is pretty long so get ready haha
They both have the same love language. I think they both like quality time and acts of service. They both also really like physical touch but not in public.
Neither of them are a fan of PDA, but sometimes Jake will kiss her on the cheek or put his hands on her wait or shoulders out of habit.
I think they had a situationship going on for like a year.
Jake was staying with her on and off for a year before one day he just showed up with his stuff and told her that he quit all his jobs.
Sherry was so happy because she knew he trusted her. They definitely celebrated all night and Sherry was late for work in the morning.
Sometimes when they’re taking and looking/gazing at each other they will just start laughing because they feel awkward and a strong sexual tension hehe
Sherry likes when Jake hugs her from behind while she’s cooking, getting ready, or when they’re cuddling.
Jake smacks Sherry’s butt anytime he passes by her or when she bends down to reach for something.
The first time Jake hit her butt, Sherry just stopped what she was doing and looking at him. He just smirked at her and walked away.
One time he grabbed her ass while they were at work, lucky no one was there to see this, but Sherry definitely made him work for it when they got home.
It takes both of them time to learn how to sleep in the same bed as someone.
One night Sherry is having a really bad nightmare she wakes up and panics when she see’s Jake in her bed because she hasn’t fully woken up and she falls out of bed, causing Jake to wake up and when he see’s that she’s holding her gun he doesn’t panic.
This truly doesn’t faze him, he understands.
He slowly gets out of bed and takes the gun from her and puts it back on her nightstand before he holds her and feels tears start to fall into his shoulder.
He doesn’t bring this up ever again because he doesn’t want to embarrass her or make her feel bad.
It takes Jake just a little longer to adjust to sleeping in the bed with her.
When they first started living together and Jake was just getting used to everything, Sherry actually rolls onto his side of the bed (because she isn’t used to not having the bed to herself) and this freaks Jake out.
He grabs her and rolls them both off the bed and pins her down on the floor. If Sherry hadn’t yelled “hey” out of surprise, Jake would have most definitely tried to choke her.
She just looks up at him with a blank expression and asks if he’s okay. Jake apologizes profusely when he sits up and realizes what just happened. Sherry is quick to calm him down and they fall asleep sitting on the floor, but when she wakes up she’s asleep on her side of the bed and she finds Jake asleep on the couch.
This was the only time either of them freak out, now, they can’t sleep without each other.
They always have to be touching while they’re in bed hanging out of sleeping. Either they have to be cuddling, holding hands, or even just their legs just tangled together.
Sherry LOVES when Jake lets her hold him.
Jake would always hold Sherry when they were snuggled up with each other. It was in his nature to be this strong, almost possessive, man who always protected people who he loved. It was something he grew into when he was left to take care of his sick mom before his age was in double digits.
Jake likes spooning her because he likes to grab or hold her boob’s sometimes hehe.
I WILL SAY THIS FOREVER AND EVER! JAKE ALWAYS MAKES SHERRY PAPER RINGS WITH STEAW WRAPPERS WHEN THEY GO OUT ON DATES AND SHE KEEPS THEM ALL!
Jake HAS to hold Sherry’s hand when he’s driving.
When they argue (which is not often at all) they argue in Italian or French. Jake knew the language very well and Sherry picked up on it over the years because he would always make comment and self notes to himself in one of those two languages.
NSFW wise
Sherry likes it when he’s rough with her because she knows he doesn’t see her as a glass doll or something.
Leon saw three hickeys on Jake once and he was absolutely livid! He wanted to kill Jake so bad.
Jake like when Sherry rides him because he loves looking at her and he can see her face better when he kisses, bites, rubs, or touched a specific part of her body.
Sherry loves when he chokes her a little.
Sherry also loves to give him head, she can get herself off just by thinking about having him in her mouth.
It drives Sherry insane when he picks her up and does her against a wall or in the shower and it’s game over for her when he holds her hand.
Jake will sext her in Italian when she’s out on missions he has loves to teas her.
They will usually shower together after sex. Sometimes they get in another round and sometimes they just shower and pass out.
Jake always has to eat her out before he fucks her.

Hi! I’m Mae!
I write RE fic’s and I am always welcome to request, but I'm not really good at NSFW, I mean I try, but I'm not good.
If you'd like to come along for the ride of me trying to become more confident in my work, I'd love to have you!
The only thing I don’t do at the moment (December 2023) is heavy nsfw. If you do ask for something I did not mention in my won’t do I will let you know.
Which Resident Evil ships I do/will write about:
Rebecca and Billy
Claire and Leon
Leon and Ada
Carlos and Jill
Jill and Chris
Chris and Leon
Sherry and Jake
This is only because these are the ships I know and vibe with I guess you can say haha. I can always TRY to do someone else if you have a request or an idea, but there is no guarantee. Again, I will update my list if/when things change :)

Hard Working Lady
Prompt: Claire has a late night at the office and Leon stops by to pick up their daughter and make’s a bet with her
Warning(s): None
Rating: E
"On a scale of 1-10, how tired are you?" Claire asked as she turned back around to look at Leon. He looked at her with his brows raised and a grin on his face. "About 4. Why are you asking?"
"Im about 4 as well. What if I can promise you something better then 40 bucks?" Claire smiled as she pushed Leon's hair out of his face so she could see his reaction to her alternative offer.

It was well past midnight when Claire started to feel frustrated with her report. She had been working on it since that afternoon.
Her thumb was fiddling with her wedding ring, her long, red hair was up in a now messy bun, her jacket was over her shoulders, and she was now wearing her glasses due to the burning in her eyes. She was so focused on her computer screen that she didn't notice her husband standing at her open office door.
He stood there for about ten minutes before realizing she wouldn't be looking up anytime soon so he knocked on the door to bring her attention away from the computer.
"You're still going at that report, Red?" Leon joked as he walked into Claire's office and sat on her desk. Claire looked at Leon before she threw herself back in her chair and let out a sign of defeat.
"Not only am I not done with it, but I'm so fucking over it already!" Claire groaned and rested her head in the palms of her hands.
"I thought you said you were going home after I drop Sherry off with you." Leon teased as he leaned down for a kiss. Leon had picked up Sherry from school that day and then dropped her off with Claire because he still had a lot of work to do before he would be heading home and Claire was supposed to be home before 5 o'clock.
Their buildings were only fifteen minutes away from each other so when Leon had passed by her building on his way home and saw Claire's car was still there, he knew she was overworking herself.
"I told her to remind me to get going at six, I guess she fell asleep after she did her homework. Poor baby only ate a bag of chips for dinner."
Claire looked over her computer and saw Sherry passed out on the small couch that she had in her office. She took off her glasses and sighed before walking over to her daughter, not even noticing how her jacket had fallen off her chair when she scooted it back.
She was so focused on her daughter who should be asleep in her own bed, not on the couch that was in her mother's office.
"Aww, I'm sorry sweet girl. I promise we will go to the craft store tomorrow." Claire whipped to her daughter before pushing her hair behind her ear so that she could kiss her forehead.
Leon smiled and picked up Claire's jacket from off the floor and put it over the back of her desk chair. When Claire sat back down, she rested her head in her hands again and looked up at Leon.
He looked down at her and leaned down for another comforting kiss before getting off of her desk. Leon took his coat off and placed it over Sherry before picking her up.
"I'm gonna get her home and put her to bed. I know tomorrow is Saturday but please be home no later than 2." Leon begged his wife.
"Bet you 20 bucks I'll be home on time," Claire told Leon with a smirk. "Oh, you're on, Red!" Leon smirked as he walked closer to the door.
"But seriously, be home soon. I love you." Leon said with a smile. "Yeah, yeah! Whatever you say," Claire teased. Leon chuckled before closing her office door.
Once Leon left Claire looked at the time and then cracked her knuckles. "All right Kennedy, you got this. You're almost done." Both she and Leon were very competitive so now that there was something on the line, she was determined to be home by 2.
Sadly, after twenty minutes her determination had died and she was bored and frustrated again so she decided to switch to her second project.
After finishing up her second project, Claire looked at the clock in her office and sighed before she took her glasses off and rubbed the sleep off of her eyes before grabbing her phone to call her favorite person, other than her husband and daughter of course.
"Hey, are you busy?" Claire asked Jill as soon as she answered the phone. "Nope, you're stupid brother is still working so I'm stuck at work. What's up?" Jill reply. Claire could hear Chris let out an offended 'hey' in the background.
"I just wanted to let you know that I'm finished with the things you needed. I got the evidence and the reports that you need and I'm going to email them to you now. I'm sorry it took so long, I have this stupid report due tomorrow morning." Claire told Jill as she got the files ready to send.
"Thank you so much, Claire! This is why you are my favorite Redfield!"
"It's no problem, let me know how everything goes. I'll see you tomorrow."
After hanging up with her sister, she finally decided to focus on her report that was due soon. The only reason Claire heated field assignments was because of how much paperwork she would have to fill out, especially if she was assigned to go out with DSO and or the BSAA.
Even though Leon had asked Claire to be home by 2, she was barely starting to get ready to leave work at 2:30 AM and she wasn't home till 3. Claire quietly took off her shoes and put her bag on the couch before walking down the hall to her daughter's room. Claire was careful not to trip over their dog when she walk into the room to check on Sherry.
Sherry's hair was damp and she was in pajamas meaning she probably woke up when she and Leon got home. Claire smiled down at her and kissed her head before petting their dog's head. "Good boy, Bentley."
Claire made sure to close the door quietly before she made her way to the kitchen and grabbed herself a snack before she went to go shower.
It had to be almost 3:40 when Claire was out of the shower and in bed. She was barely awake and barely managed to get herself dressed and into her bed. She pulled the blankets over her and got settled in on her side of the bed when all of a sudden she felt a shift and a pair of arms being wrapped around her.
"Should I be expecting my 20 bucks in the morning or..." Leon chuckled before he kissed Claire's head.
"Oh, you hush." Claire giggled and playfully pushed Leon's face away from her. "Bet you double or nothing that I'll be up before nine," Claire said. She turned over and kissed Leon a few times before getting comfortable in bed again.
"Looks like I'm making an easy 40 bucks."
"Ma'am, I used to be an officer of the law, are you trying to prostitute yourself to me?" Leon chuckled.
"Oh my god! I can't with you!" Claire laughed as Leon got on top of her. "But, are you saying that you're gonna pass up on my offer?"
"Never would or never could, Sweetheart."

Redfield
Prompt: Leon has the day off so he and his and Chris’ little girl visit Chris at work :)
Warnings: Very cute lol
Rating: E
“Okay, c’mon little miss. Let’s get you dressed so we can go see daddy.” Leon picked up Scout and threw her up in the air. She shrieked with a wide smile on her face. Leon went to go pick out a plain white romper and two blue bows for his daughter before taking her to his bathroom to get her ready.
AO3 Link
“You have crazy bedhead just like your daddy.” Leon laughed as he picked up their daughter from her crib. Her black hair was all over the place.
“Is she up? I’m about to head out and I’m not sure what time I get out today.” Chris said as he walked down the hall that lead to his daughter's nursery. He smiled when he walked into the nursery and saw Leon getting Scout out of her crib.
“Good morning sweet girl. Did you sleep well?” Chris said as he went to grab their daughter from Leon.
The baby was still out of it a little since it was 5:40am and she normally didn’t wake up till 7:00 o’clock, but when Chris or Leon went in before then, they always liked to see their baby before they left. Scout rested her head in the nook of her dad's neck and began to fall back to sleep. Chris frowned and rubbed her back.
“Daddy has to go to work sweetheart, but I’ll be home later.” Chris kissed Scout’s head and then carefully passed her back to Leon.
“I wish I had today off too.” Chris sighed. “I promise to call you when she's up and in a good mood so you can see her.” Leon smiled before he leaned over to kiss his husband.
“Okay, I gotta go. I’ll see you when I get home. I love you.” Chris went in for another kiss and then went to grab his things.
“Be safe and let me know if they send you out.” Leon waved Chris off as he walked out the door and left.
“Dada…” Scout whined. Looking up at her dad with very sleepy eyes. “I know baby, we’re gonna go back to sleep in the big bed for a little longer.” Leon smiled as he rocked his daughter to keep her in a daze.
It was at 7:30 when Leon was abruptly woken up by the sound of a sneeze. Leon’s eyes went wide as he realized his daughter had just sneezed all over his face and didn’t care. Scout only looked at her dad and laughed.
“Well good morning to you, you little snot rocket.” Leon gave a fake smiled and whipped his daughter's germs off of his face before sitting up and sitting her in front of him on the bed.
“Okay, let’s change your diaper, and then we can brush our teeth and make breakfast. Does that sound like a plan?”
Scout leaned forward and laughed. Leon booped her nose before grabbing a diaper and whips. Scout hated being changed in the morning so Leon was quick to get her changed and back into her pajamas. Once Scout was back in her pj’s, Leon walked to the bathroom and sat Scout on the bathroom counter.
“Here, brush your teeth.” Leon handed Scout a small toothbrush that just had water on it. Scout's version of brushing her teeth was just chewing on the bristles, but she enjoyed it.
After they both finished brushing their teeth, Leon put Scout's messy bead head up in a little ponytail before putting her down to crawl on the floor so that they could ‘race’ to the kitchen.
Scout won, obviously.
“You wanna call your dad and see what he’s up to?” Leon smiled at Scout as he sat her down in her highchair and leaned his phone against the fruit bowl on the table so that they could FaceTimed Chris.
He picked up after only two rings, so Leon knew he wasn’t busy.
“You caught me at the perfect timing. My meeting was canceled so I have nothing to do till after lunch.” Chris said to Leon when he answered his FaceTime call.
“Scout and I are about to have breakfast and she’s in a really good mood so I thought now was a good time to call,” Leon told Chris. Chris could hear pots and pans clinging in the background and the sound of the fridge opening and closing.
“There is my favorite little girl! How did you and daddy sleep?” Chris asked Scout. Though she only knew one word, she babbled all the time so they still liked to talk to her. She did know a lot of sign language though. With Chris having served in the Air Force and Leon being a private agent, it’s something they wanted her to learn at an early age.
“We slept well after you left, up until she sneezed all over my face and laughed after.” Chris heard Leon say off-screen.
Right before Chris could say something, he saw his office door open. “Hey, I have that file you-oh sorry, are you on the phone?”
“No, you’re good,” Chris told his sister, gesturing for her to come in and sit. “Hi, Claire!” Leon called out.
“Is that Scout?” Claire asked after she heard it was Leon who was on the phone. “Unless she magically learned how to talk since I left and she sounds like Leon, then no.” Chris joked.
“Let me see her!” Claire exclaimed as she went to go stand behind Chris. “There is my favorite stinker!” Scout smiled at Claire and waved. “Here, bite,” Leon told Scout as walked over to her with scrambled eggs.
“Careful, she has a new tooth coming in and she will bite you.” Just as Chris warned his husband, he saw him quickly pull his hand back.
“Did she bite you?” Both Chris and Claire laughed. Leon didn’t respond but only chuckled.
“Hey, Claire. Can you ask Sherry if she can drop some papers off in my office? I got an email from Hunnigan this morning saying she has some papers for me.” Leon asked his sister-in-law.
“She’s in a meeting right now, but I’ll text her and ask her,” Claire answered. “Anyways, I have to run. I was just supposed to drop these files off and then go help Berry with something,” Claire said as she moved from behind Chris to standing next to him.
“Bye stinker.” Claire smiled and waved off Scout.
Scout smiled at Claire and waved at her. “Bye, guys. Let me know if you need any more files, Chris,” Claire said as she waved off her brothers and left the room.
“Hey, they're sending me out next Thursday through Monday. I have to attend this banquet thing, it’s on Sunday so you and Scout can come and we can just hang out Friday and Saturday.” Chris smiled as Scout talked back to him. She was a little chatterbox.
“The one in Florida, right?” Leon looked back at Scout and saw she was signing juice so Leon went to grab her a drink to keep her happy.
“Yea-wait, how did you know?” Chris questioned, this was the first time he was telling Leon about this, he himself had only found out that morning.
Leon smiled at Chris before walking away aging to finish up making breakfast.
“I have to go to, they need a DSO representative. Sherry has a field assignment and Helena went to the last one so I’m going to this one. Although we work with BSAA, we’re still considered as just DSO agents so one of us has to go.”
“Are those the papers you were talking about?” Chris chuckled. Leon didn’t say anything, just gave a mischievous look when he walked back into the frame holding two bowls.
“You got it, baby?” Leon asked Scout as he gave her a spoon so she can eat her oatmeal. Scout looked at her dad and smiled before taking the spoon so she could eat.
Leon and Chris talked some more about Florida and making plans since it would be Scout's first ‘beach vacation’ before they had to end their call.
After Scout and Leon finished up their breakfast and did the dishes, they did some activity and cleaning before Leon put Scout down for her first nap of the day.
He was able to get almost all the house chores done and was able to shower and read some emails in peace before Scout woke up from her afternoon nap.
They did some more playing before Leon thought it would be nice to go and see Chris and get some lunch together.
“Hey stinker, you wanna go see dada at work?” Leon asked Scout. They were currently doing a puzzle on the floor. Scout smiled and clapped her hands, Leon chuckled at her reaction and kissed her head before standing up.
He sat Scout on the bathroom counter and kissed her cheek before getting together everything he needed to do her hair. As Leon started brushing Scouts hair, he practiced some signs with her, working on words she hadn’t been signing lately.
“Can you show daddy silent?” Leon asked his daughter as he started working on her pigtails. She looked at him through the mirror and showed him how to sign silent.
“Good girl! Now can you do understand?” Again, Scout showed her daddy the sign before looking at him.
“You are so smart, baby! One more then we’ll get you dressed. Show daddy commander.” Commander was one of the words Scout struggled with so Leon helped her when she saw her getting frustrated.
He signed the word for her and then watched her give it another try. “There you go.” Leon smiled and kissed her cheek which made her shriek with happiness.
“All done and you look so pretty! Let’s go get you some shoes and then we can leave.”
Leon grabbed Scout a pair of shoes and then put her in her car seat and walked out the door. As the pair walked outside, the mailman just so happened to be there, so Leon took the mail and quickly glanced through it before he saw something that caught his eye.
He smiled and then put the other letters in the mailbox before finally getting in the car with Scout.
Scout ‘talked’ to Leon the whole 35 minute drive and she also danced to almost all the songs on the radio and held her dad's hand for half of the drive.
“Here, you hold.” Leon took Scout out of her car seat and handed her his work ID and keycard to he could grab her diaper bag.
Once Scout realized where she was she pointed at the building and smiled and yelled dada.
Leon chuckled and closed the car door before taking his ID and keycard back from Scout before walking into his work building. After Scout's diaper bag was checked, the two were able to head up the elevator to the third floor where Chris’ office was.
“We’re gonna go see your dad, we’re gonna go see your dad!” Leon chanted as he walked out of the elevator and down the halls while bouncing Scout in his arms.
“Hey, Agent Redfield! What are you doing here on your off day and who is that pretty girl you have with you.” Leon looked back to see Piers coming from behind him.
“Piers, for the last time. It’s Leon, you’re my daughter’s godfather for god sake.” Leon laughed, “We’re here to see her dad and to take him out for lunch. Is he in his office?”
“Yes sir, I think he’s just signing some papers right now,” Piers said. He smiled when Scout reached out to grab his hand so she could play with him.
“Hi, little lady. Did you come to see your dad?” Piers asked Scout. Scout smiled and looked down the hallway. Even though she was a baby, she knew this building pretty darn well.
“Well, I’ve got to run. I’ll see you later Agen—I mean Leon. I’ll see you later pretty girl.” Piers squished Scout's cheeks and waved them both off.
Both Scout and Leon waved Piers off before continuing their walk down the hall. Scout kept saying ‘dada’ as they got closer to the office.
She signed open once they were only one door down, Leon laughed before opening the door.
Chris smiled as he saw Leon walk in with their daughter. Scout's green eyes look at her other dad.
“There is my sweet baby girl! You look so pretty!” Chris said excitedly. Scout started bouncing in Leon’s arms and reaching out for Chris while she chanted ‘dada’. He happily took the baby before kissing his husband.
“What good thing did I do to get this special visit on your day off?” Chris asked as he sat at the edge of his desk with Scout on his knee.
“Scout and I wanted to know if you would like to go to lunch with us and something came in the mail today and I couldn’t wait for you to get home to show you.” Leon smiled as he pulled out a manilla envelope from their baby’s diaper bag.
Chris opened the envelope and read the paper that was inside it. It was their baby’s birth certificate. Chris looked up at Leon with a smile.
“She is officially Scout Morgan Redfield.” Leon smiled. They had adopted Scout when she was just 2 weeks old, now she was 9 months. After debating on hyphenating her last name, Leon had finally convinced Chris to just have Redfield as her last name.
“Are you sure it’s okay that we didn’t hyphenate her last name like yours?” Chris asked Leon as he put the papers away.
Leon smiled and walked over to Chris and stood in front of him. “Yes. I want her to have your last name. If I could have just your last name I would, but hyphenating it makes work easier.” Leon leaned in to kiss his husband.
“Come on, let’s go get lunch to celebrate Scout having your last name.”
