Book of Monsters (AU)
The sleepy town of Umbermoor boasts beautiful forests, clear blue lakes, and fields filled with flowers. But the villagers have reported strange happenings in recent years, as shadows have prowled the land and taken residence in the abandoned ruins that dot the countryside. Until recently, the grand castle of Leybourne sat empty, until its recent acquisition by Lady Aurelia de Vahl, a woman of impressive means.
And now, Lady de Vahl and her retinue have moved in. Only, it takes more than a roof and some furniture to call a house a home. Sometimes, it takes a greasing of palms, holy water, a stake, and silver bullets. And other times, perhaps all it takes is true love.

Touching Heinrix's frozen body is painful. It feels as if you are embracing a block of ice. Steeling yourself, you wrap your arms around him.
Slowly, very slowly, the otherworldly chill begins to retreat from the air around you. A flicker of life appears in Heinrix's face — his eyelids blink in exhaustion, he pulls a ragged breath in past his blue lips, and violent tremors wrack his body.
"I remember. I remember being on the deck… the officer… the breach…" He stares back at you. "And I remember that out of all the places on the ship, I came here. To you."

I did what I could. I'm not very good with slutty designs and Theciya specifically dresses for authority/impressiveness/eccentricity, not sexual appeal. But I still tried my best xD

Being together again, even for a short while, comes as a blessing from the God-Emperor Himself...but as the Lord Inquisitor discovers, there are certain things not even he had foreseen.
(basically this is my headcanon for my RT and Heinrix' first meeting post-game, in comic form!)

Becoming a Sanctioned Psyker in the Inquisition is indeed one of the "best" fates a psyker can get in the Imperium.
One of the few ways a psyker can truly be respected in the society.
Especially once you become an Inquisitor.
I suppose that's why Heinrix considers himself lucky. He could've been fed to the Astronomican instead.
It's sad but, it is what it is 😔
Was asked for a bit of context for this post by @istanbulite and why I am absolutely unwell when it comes to any mention of Heinrix's eyes or restoring them. And since this will be spoilers and I have a lot of thoughts on the matter I decided to make it a seperate thing.
That said, below the cut there will be spoilers for Hainrix's background and his act 3 romance (the taking him with you route).
From what he tells us, he was born into an Imperial Knight nobility, and from my understanding Knights are basically mechs they take into battle and use via some kind of implants.
We learn from him that his psyker abilities manifested themselves in his adolescence, so somewhere between his early to late teens. During this time he was already in possesion of said implants, that were literally torn out of him the moment his family disinherited him.
During this he lost one if his eyes along with a chunk of his cranium (I believe he also mentioned one of his hands being paralysed, which is just...another thing). He was basically maimed, this teen boy, and thrown out to a dumpster. Later, when he survived the sanctioning ordeal he was crudely patched up and sent on his merry way.
And in Commorragh, after who knows how long torture he just goes "yeah, I healed myself from being maimed and crippled before countless times, give me a sec, I'll be back to normal in a jiffy." SIR? You did what now how many times??
And then he hits us with the infromation he spent years mastering his biomancy to just...feel human again, to heal, to grow his eye back and he still didn't manage to do it properly. He regained his sight, restored his nerves, the shape is passable, but the eye has a slightly different color which is also mentioned quite early in his romance and thinking back to it after we learn the truth just makes me WEAK.
So yeah, this is why every slight mention of his biomancy and his eyes makes me go feral and let out pterodactyl noises. Because he just wants to be a freaking person while ultimately being reduced to a tool and considers this being "lucky".

Couple sketchy, little comic strips to put a bow on the...less Tumblr-safe illustrations I've been working on. Still scraping of layers of rust after not doing comics. Or lettering. Or settling into new character voices for a while, but this was a fun one.
Also I gotta say, Abelard just acting like femRT's protective dad if she's going for Heinrix is sending me in the best way.

*aggressively shakes Heinrix's shoulders*
Okay. So my game bugged out, and I had to re-do almost entire 3rd chapter, but this time I decided to leave Heinrix behind on the ship. And holy shit, was the man worried, lol
Rest of the dialogue under the cut. Gotta say I love both versions but I feel that I like more the one where the 'all-seeing/knowing/two-steps-ahead agent of Inquisition' is turned into the nervous mess because a Rogue Trader disappeared right under his nose.
