"character whose dilemma is deemed as too complex to warrant either heaven or hell so he stands guard between them" is an ostensibly really interesting concept and it's just such a shame they chose the least compelling backstory possible of "guy tried to get rid of an outsider group he didn't like by poisoning their food but it's ok because he saved a baby" for such a character
#in any other case committing such a transgression in the name of 'doing what's right For The Clan' would be seen as noble if not misguided#it's literally the whole reason mudclaw got to go to starclan lol why is it only bad when juniperclaw does it

if warrior cats pulled that scott shelby shit with one of the pov characters no matter how poorly foreshadowed it was no matter how little sense it made twitter warriors fans would never shut the fuck up about how it's the peak of erin hunter's ability to write and the best villain ever or something. don't even lie i know what you are
god the rotating protagonist povs format of the newer warriors arcs really does make the books feel structured the same way david cage structures his games doesn't it

Since you mentioned it in ur post a moment ago and now im curious, for no reasons in particular, what are ur opinions on undertale? i vaguely recall u saying u didn't like asgore a few months back but nothing else abt it...
i love undertale a lot! asriel/flowey is one of my favorite fictional characters ever. where it stands i still think i prefer it to deltarune but that may just be because undertale has the advantage of being a finished game so we'll see. not sure what else to say about it apart from that
