Astarion and the owlbear cub
So, just about everyone but Astarion approves of adopting and petting Scratch, right?
But he does approve of adopting the owlbear cub. I think it was on tiktok, but I saw someone point out that he probably approves of the owlbear because it's considered a "monster". Even the cubs are very dangerous for your average person, let alone an adult owlbear.
But you adopt this little baby monster, feed it, treat its wounds, and he approves. That's potentially because most people would consider Astarion a monster as well.
Everyone loves dogs, but it takes something special to love a monster. So Astarion sees Tav/Surge loving on the cub and maybe he feels a bit... I dunno, safer? Like if you love/care for/protect the cub, you might do the same for a monster like him.

spent more time with the crushes™️ and have been talking to one of them all night and into today. literally just yapping endlessly and it was so much easier than before?????? like nerves have obviously been calmed down some which is so nice bc now i can just enjoy time with them again instead of freaking out all the time (will probably happen again)

Lets talk about Stillmaker, Durge’s other canon blade
Okay, so we already know that Durge had the Bloodthirst dagger which was created from Bhaal’s own blood and carried by his chosen.
But there is another dagger in the game you can find that also canonically belonged to Durge, Stillmaker.
We see Stillmaker portrayed in Dark Urge’s official artwork, and it’s also Durge’s blade in Idle Champions, as you can see.
I’ve noticed that Stillmaker matches Bloodthirst in design, but it is conspicuously green, as opposed to every other Bhaalian weapon I’ve seen which are red.
You know who else’s canon weapon has the same green coloring? Gortash. And who is the color green associated with? Bane. Stillmaker looks like it was made in the same design to Gortash’s crossbow.
I posit then, that being close to one another as they were, Gortash either made or commissioned Stillmaker to match with Bloodthirst and gifted it to Durge. It’s far more his style in looks, and I feel it’s something he would have done as he describes Durge as his nearest and dearest, and we know they worked very closely together and admired one another.
It truly makes my Durgetash heart flutter!

Honestly, the revelation that Sukuna consumed his twin in the womb so as not to starve recontextualizes his character so much in hindsight.
Not only was he born a "cursed, unwanted wretch" (oof), the act of rejecting the person closest to him and consuming them led him to a mindset where any kind of connection to others was not just weakness, but was associated with starvation and ultimately death.
Call it cliche, but it really cements how much of a narrative foil he is for Yuji, who was not only raised with a mindset of love and selflessness, but who's ultimate goal in life is to "die surrounded by others" and not end up alone.
He doesn't just have family beef with Yuji. Yuji's mindset represents his worst fears on a fundamental level and with the kicker that he is descended from the very thing which he tried to reject before even taking his first breath.
His annoyance, dismissal, abuse, and later anger towards Yuji is a cover, because he's too prideful to admit that he's fucking terrified of this little brat who shares his face.

Even if someone slightly hints they don't really want one of the changes (like hair loss or something) someone's gotta bring up "You can't pick and choose the changes!
