Today we got a blizzard come through our part of Colorado. Everything is covered in snow with some of the drifts reaching around 4 feet. The animals don't seem to mind at all even some of them, like Grumpy the rooster, choosing to stand out in the cold and get coverd in snow and ice. Marisela and I are choosing to not do that and are rather happy staying inside out of the cold huddled by our small fireplace trying to stay warm. The snow and cold are only supposed to stay a few days and I will be happy to get back to normal and get back to work on the ranch making improvements.
Willma the pig is getting better slowly. I am still not sure what is wrong with her but am glad to see her getting better everyday. She still won't completely stand on her own but will atleast now sit up and eat and drink by herself. although we sometimes have to give her water with the bottle every now and then as well.

The last few days on the ranch we have had some unfortunate things going on we got 2 new male pigs and one of them has died. we have no clue what happened to him, but our nearest guess is that one of the goats might have hit him and caused internal bleeding. He wasn't very old and was the runt of the litter. On other news our oldest pig that we have had for several months is sick. she won't get up and will barely drink and eat. I have no clue what is wrong with her, but we will keep her hydrated and continue to tend to her in the hopes that she gets better. I hope that we have better days soon.

Introduction
Hello Tumblr community!
We are so excited to introduce ourselves and our farm, Sitting Duck Ranch. We are a self-sufficient homestead located in the beautiful countryside, where we raise ducks, chickens, goats, dogs and cats. Our goal is to share our love of animals and the self-sufficient lifestyle with everyone.
We believe that living off the land and being close to nature is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling ways of life. Our farm is a place where visitors can come and learn about sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry, and the importance of being self-sufficient. We offer tours, workshops and hands-on experience with our farm animals.
On our farm you can find beautiful landscapes, peaceful nature and of course, our beloved animals. From our goats, who are always up for a pet and a cuddle, to our ducks and chickens, who provide us with fresh eggs every day. Our dogs and cats also play an important role on our farm, they keep the animals safe and bring joy to everyone who meets them.
We are excited to share our journey with you and can't wait to see you at the ranch! Follow us for daily farm updates, animal stories, and tips on self-sufficient living.
