I was just looking over your Sims 4 PackIDs resource. How does one search for basegame DST images in the Game File Cruiser? It's not on your list.
Honestly, these days it's easier to use Lot51's Image Search tool to search for something via keyword (if it doesn't have an EP/GP/etc. tag - starts with "InGame", it's Base Game) and grab the instance number that way. Put that into the Game File Cruiser's instance number box (make sure DST Image is checked) and you can add the image to your package or export it that way. Game File Cruiser is good for exporting stuff, but less good at doing your initial filtering.

Hi, I have an in-game problem that I haven't read about anywhere else. This occurs with or without mods or CC installed. Werewolves that visit the Moonwood Collective hangout are adults only. I used to have a bunch of young adults and elders that would visit, but no more. Is this something that could potentially be fixed with a mod? It's certainly something I would be interested in having. Thank you for your time.
Yeah, it probably could be fixed with a mod. I'm guessing something is probably off in the SimFilters that are being used to choose sims for this Situation (or maybe it's an issue with Situation weights). I'll look into it a bit, and if I can figure something out, I'll post it.

I am terribly sorry for bothering you, especially now that you've retired from the modding business, but I seem to have trouble hiding the street signs in Britechester which have been such an eyesore for me. I followed the instructions in the tutorial for all the signs I could find in the debug menu and placed the overrides in the "Mods" folder, but they still appear in the game. I know it's a long shot, but do you have any idea what the problem might be?
I think it's been a while since you've asked this, so you may have already figured it out. If not, could you provide a bit more info?
At a glance, though, I'm wondering if this might be related to this issue this other person was having with Sims4Studio lately. Basically, not all of the Object Definitions/Catalog files are being carried over sometimes, so you may hide one swatch successfully, but end up with other swatches of the same object still being unhidden.

Hey there! I've been using your guide with regards to hiding debug shell deco buildings in the Sims 4, and it's helped me out with hiding unsavory world objects so far! However, I've been trying to hide the debug shell buildings in Tartosa and I'm running into an issue where only one version or swatch of the shell buildings are being removed, while the others persist. I hate to be a bother, but I'm hoping you might be able to help in some way.
Hmm, yeah I think this might be a bug with the current version of Sims 4 Studio. It doesn't seem to always include the extra swatches of debug buildings when you try to override them...
To get to these files, you'll have to go to Tools > Game File Cruiser and then search for them there. It's probably easiest to look for the Object Definition first (check the Object Definition box and then sort alphabetically and/or filter). The ones you're looking for will have the same name as the one you got from override but then usually something like "_set2" or "_set3" instead of "_set1" at the end.
From there if you want to grab the Object Catalog file, too, it's just a matter of using the instance number, and most other files you might want to mess with are usually linked by instance to the definition or catalog. Add those to your package and edit as desired.
Hope that helps!

This is a big one (at least for people annoyed by sims eating things they shouldn't be eating, like me) - and fixes a couple of very frustrating known issues: sims selecting ingredients rather than cooked meals when getting leftovers or trying to auto-solve hunger, and a fix for sims who dislike cooking not being able to grab quick meals or microwave snacks.

Backlog of Inbox Messages
Hey folks this is just a quick note that I have quite a backlog of Tumblr messages at the moment. It'll probably take a bit for me to respond to all of them, but I will do so eventually. Thanks for your patience!

Hi there! I was looking for a Sims 4 mod that would let you craft the dyes from Eco Lifestyle and I came across your post on S4S where you were working on just that. Has that mod since been abandoned? Is there any chance of it ever being released?
Yeah, that's a good question. I wasn't ever able to track down why that one orange dye recipe wasn't working... but I did have another version of that recipe. I think I still needed to come up with crafting requirements for each recipe, but it was mostly done. I'll take a second look at it and if it hasn't been super broken by the recent updates, I'll try to get out a version people can use sometime in a few weeks maybe.

I made another thing! Particularly useful for off-grid and historical saves... Not quite a replacement for the notebook mod from years past, but should at least help get your sims through university without computers/electricity.

And one final post before I disappear into the mist again...
I've gotten a few questions about making specific hider sets. The only one I have coming down the pipeline is one for the Moonwood Mill world (if I can ever get around to taking photos and writing the post for it - I will try to do it soon). If you want specific items hidden that I haven't included in my sets, please use the tutorial I created. It should be pretty easy (if a wee bit time consuming) to do once you get the hang of it.
And the other thing I've gotten multiple questions about: the great SimFileShare outage of late 2022 - early 2023 ish? It looks to me like all of the mods in question are downloadable again. In case this happens again, I also recently created a Patreon page and am in the process of starting to move my stuff there, too (free of charge, of course).
I'd like to do more posting to CurseForge or ModTheSims, but the amount of detail they require for their moderation/upload process is really more effort than I'm willing to do these days. The more steps I have to take to get something uploaded, the less likely it is to ever see the light of day... which sucks because I've made some really cool things lately that I want to share.
And with that, I think that's all of my unanswered messages addressed if not replied to directly. Whew. Sorry for the spam!

Would you please update spawn baristas and bartenders to include the bubble tea thrift shop? I would love to put a bar and/or cafe upstairs.
I am going to actually deprecate those mods and start pointing people to Zerbu's Spawn Overhaul mod because I don't have as much time to create and update mods these days, and theirs basically works the same way as mine (but a little better, probably). Should work for your purposes. :)

Hey!! thank you for sharing your mods! I am a huge fan of them. They really add to immersion. I especially love the library improvements mod and the criminal one! I was wondering would you consider updating/bringing back your healthy food mod? Bienchen got rid of their version and there are so few healthy meals in the game.
Are you sure? Looks like it's still there, but on the new site under Food Related Mods.

Hi, I'm creating a prehistoric save and covering objects with rocks with the Tool mod. I found your tutorial on how to hide objects and tried to hide the ruins, lanterns, gates and buildings of The Bramblewood. I followed the tutorial 2 times but it doesn't work for me. I'm sure I followed the steps correctly, I used override and edited the Footprint values in Object Definition to 0. I tested a new save, but the objects are there. Can you help me?
I think I saw your post on Sims4Studio, and you figured it out.
But in case anyone else has this question: you have to null out the Footprint AND the Model. At least. Some items have rigs and slots and stuff too, but those usually aren't the debug ones. It's in the tutorial, but I might not have made it clear enough.

Can you please tell me if the Better NPC Sales Table Stocking mod is still working as of March 2023?
It should be mostly working, yes. As in, it probably won't kaboom your game; I've used it in my own games as recently as a few months ago. But I haven't updated it in a... very long time, so maybe double check it in a new save (Better Exceptions + MCCC should give you an idea of if it's super broken or not) before using it in your 50 generation legacy challenge. Wish I could give an ETA on when I can have time to go through it with a fine-comb and update it, but there are a LOT of small pieces in that mod, and I haven't really had time/willpower to go through it again.

Hiatus/Re-brand
Hey all,
I’ve been pretty busy with school/work, so I haven’t updated my mods in a while.
Just got wind of the changes to EA’s terms of use, and I’m going to make efforts in the next few months to get everything on my blog, etc. into compliance (mostly removing the plumbbob from my logo and replacing the images). I did create this stylized version of the plumbbob myself in illustrator, but can’t be sure if it’s in breach of their trademark/copyright/whatever since it’s so reminiscent of their iconography, so I’m going to try to find some time to make a new one. In the meantime I’m going to hide this blog. My stuff that is on modthesims will remain there most likely... at least for a short while longer.
See ya soon,
SM Edit: Okay, someone asked for me to keep it open, since not everything is on modthesims yet. I can’t promise the things here will work (especially with the new update), but you’re welcome to download them and try.
