I must have been really out of it on the plane home, because I remember someone in the row in front of me was watching Napoleon, and I kept seeing it and thinking "Look at Napoleon in his stupid Napoleon hat", and finding that hilarious.
I've been trying to remember if there was something else to the joke, but I don't think so. The joke was, Napoleon has a stupid Napoleon hat.

The Snakolytes and Aperture Science are similar kinds of cartoonishly bad employers, so this is actually a pretty appropriate matchup! Unfortunately, Cave Johnson is the founder and CEO during the time his dialogue was recorded in-universe, and Jamfoot is an intern.

Alegander Jamfoot
He's a member of a secret society, and we never meet him in person. We only hear him in recordings or on the phone at the end of the game, and we see Employee of the Month photos that seem to be him. He reveals a lot of lore during his brief time in the game. Despite his recordings being in a weird otherworldly place on an island full of food creatures and his best friend being a sentient cup of coffee, a lot of his lines refer to things that are normal and hilariously mundane. He mentions that he's a part time barista, he hopes that a mysterious powerful being that is supposed to eventually exist and bring peace and prosperity will show up before his student loans are due, and he talks about how the ridiculously alien looking room one recording is found in gets used as a break room by his organization.

But when the Journalist touches fire, they always go up in flame and run around flailing their arms. Is that just a them thing? Do they wear propane as cologne or something? If so, Eggabell should probably have told them to stop doing that instead of giving them the exact amount of time it was okay to be on fire for.

Also enjoying the implications of other players becoming injured if they catch a Bugsnak that Gramble is currently hugging. Obviously he was holding back in his slapfight with Wambus.

#I can make one eye wander off somewhere while the other stays in place#If I close one eye it'll wander uncontrollably but I can do it with both eyes open as well#It might be because I spent too much time crossing my eyes trying to see stereograms (magic eye) when I was eleven or so?#If you cross your eyes you can see them and it's easier to do but the depth is inverted from how it's intended (usually)#But now that I can Perry the Platypus one eye whenever I want I can see them almost immediately#So I guess it worked even better than intended?#I can curl my tongue too but I like the eye thing better

Any conspiracy theory about people going missing in National Parks is automatically silly to me. Like "Why are National Parks such a hotbed of disappearances???" because they're full of idiots. You've got thousands of people who've never pissed outdoors in their life wandering around the woods/desert/mountain with zero experience and zero gear and zero understanding that this place can kill them. You don't see as many disappearances in wild areas because people don't go to them unless they have some background knowledge. Whereas you get tour buses full of old folks and suburban families shuttling people into National Parks 365 days a year. If you took the same amount of buffoons and dropped them in the actual wilderness the disappearances would be significantly higher than at the parks. Use your brain.

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
#I guess that kind of thing comes from the belief that everyone has the exact same boundaries and comfort levels as you do?#But different people use this site in different ways and you really need to state upfront if there's restrictions on following you#And not treat it like an obvious thing you shouldn't even have to say#It's not even like LiveJournal where following someone is called 'friending' them#Follow is a way better term for subscribing to someone's social media/blog feed

I am back from America finally! The southwestern US has a lot of geology. My ratings of the national parks we went to:
Zion: Sandstone/10
Bryce Canyon: Mud Rivers/10
Grand Canyon: Proterozoic Basement Schist/10
Death Valley: Salt/10
Sequoia: Uphill Both Ways In The Snow/10
Yosemite: Granite/10
I could've rated Death Valley a Got Told Not To Keep Looking Directly At The Sun/10, but I think that would've happened anywhere under the partial eclipse path. I'd heard that the light through the trees looks different to normal, and last time I was around during a partial eclipse the birds started getting really loud for no apparent reason, but it turns out Badwater Basin is a bit low on both trees and birds.

I would say that Luz and Snorpy are about equally neurodivergent (Not confirmed with Snorpy, but if he wasn't written to be autistic, I will eat Floofty's bow tie), and both characters have very prominent romance arcs, so if it's about degree, Snorpy's anxiety and paranoia probably pushes him ahead?
Snorpy's response to being fired and blacklisted by the government is also consistent with PTSD (Symptoms can include hypervigilance and a belief that the world is impossibly dangerous, and both Chandlo and Floofty both agree that he got worse around that time), but I really need to watch past season one of the Owl House. I know Luz is pretty messed up by the events of the series by season 3, but I don't know if that would be considered PTSD or... current... traumatic situation... stress disorder.

It's explicitly stated in the DLC that, while some awful past experiences somewhat explain his fears, his paranoia has spiraled out of control and he desperately needs therapy and support to help him heal. He tries to keep his fears a secret because he's scared his loved ones won't believe him!! Also once again he's canonically gay and in love with a man. FIZZLEBEAN SWEEP!!!

She’s got a girlfriend, which is groundbreaking representation for a Disney cartoon (especially considering how she’s the main character). She’s also really determined and kind, having amassed a massive found family by the end of the show. Her ADHD causes her a number of problems throughout her journey, but it also makes her who she is.
I adore her and she had done nothing wrong in her life ever

My feet. Are very sore. Ow.
Luckily it's the last hiking day of the tour. We're going home the day after tomorrow!
I mean, starting to go home. The plane leaves pretty late in the evening and it's a very long flight.
Um... Here's a bird I saw today.
I think it's a male Brewer's blackbird. It got pretty close to us, and didn't seem hostile, so I assume it wanted something to eat. Or was waiting to see if we'd give it something... Hey, what's that over there?!
My phone camera doesn't zoom well, but there was a squirrel of some kind on that root, eating something. Then another one showed up on the rock behind it and, like, attacked it or something? And it ran away. Nature is beautiful.
