Been really busy with school as of late, so I haven’t been able to post in a while. Aside from that, here’s my piece for the @shukita-big-bang zine, which was a wonderful experience! It was also a pleasure working with my writer @memoriesofpurelight ~

[The Tower] (Part 1 of 5) Persona 5 fanfic

Characters: Protagonist (aka Akira, Ren), Yusuke Kitagawa, Madarame (more to be added as posting continues) Pairing: Yusuke/Protag (Shukita) Word Count: 1600+ (ongoing) Rating: Teen Summary: A special treasure in the hands of a prominent artist has created the most magical of paintings, bringing in many visitors to his galleries. Rumors say it can create paths accessible in the painted canvas. The Phantom Thieves figure such a treasure would be immensely valuable to the heists and Joker seeks it in a tall tower in the outskirts of town. He didn’t expect someone to be living in the tower. TWs?: Past abuse, isolation, imprisonment, many questionable things done by parental figures (more tags will be added as posting continues)

The opening scene to my @shukita-big-bang collab with my artist, @nhibnguyen. This story has been, overall, a real trip to write. I had signed up for a 5k word tier and the story has (and continues to) evolve to over double that amount. It has left me stunned and slightly insane in trying to complete it. For the sake of the posting deadline and my schedule as I work to finish this and one other collab, I’m posting the first couple thousand words and will post the remainder throughout the month of February. Thanks goes to both the mods and my partner for all their patience and presence, you are amazing people.

For the @shukita-big-bang, this artwork comes with a story written by for the pairing Yusuke Kitagawa and Akira Kurusu from Persona 5. The influences for this artwork are Alphonse Mucha and Rapunzel. I had the pleasure of working with my confidant Yuki (@a-little-harmed-shinra) for this awesome event. You can read the opening chapter to their fic here.

He was the leader of the Phantom Thieves. He was Joker, the ace up their team’s sleeve, and he had what felt like all of the eyes in Tokyo directly on him. If he could stay cool and clear headed with all of that weighing him down, than any crush shouldn’t so much as phase him. He should be able to be way more suave about this.

But when Yusuke came into the picture, cool collection was a thing of the past and ‘suave’ was a laughably distant dream.

Growing up and growing together, all over the course of a year.

Because Akira was shaking, he saw, even more so than Yusuke himself was. There was a fear in his eyes that Yusuke had never seen before, and he found himself wondering just how much of ‘Joker’ had been sheer bravado before he moved, slowly and gently, to embrace Akira.

At first, he was stiff in Yusuke’s arms, and he forced himself not to think on how long it must have been since the boy in his arms was hugged. Too long, no doubt.

But eventually, Akira relaxed, arms coming up hesitantly to return the hug and a hitch in his breath as he buried his face in Yusuke’s shoulder and just cried.

“I don’t want to do this,” he whispered, and Yusuke closed his eyes. “But I have to.” His voice was choked up, and Yusuke breathed in shakily.

From the @shukita-big-bang!!! omg this was so fun do ahhh!!! it was also great to work with @krisseycrystal (at the beginning we were talking about P5 doing a palace based on Disney’s fantasmic so :D )

“Better late than never” is a term I have unwillingly coming to terms with. Tomorrow I will have had everything queued for a final reblog and this is my last thank you to everyone who has joined us. I can not express how much it means to see how people have come through for this.
