hello!!! recently i’ve started reading asoiaf, in part bc i was so bewitched by your artwork! you’re really really talented! i love you depiction of the characters, i cannot imagine them any other way now.
what i wanted to ask is, what do you use to draw? (ipad, drawing pad X, etc.. i don’t know any names pf things actually im just saying words) if you tell me i would be very grateful, thank you!!

currently I use an ipad pro and apple pencil with the procreate app! I hope that helps!

i'm very curious about your ocs, they are all very cute!! i'm specially drawn to the clout chaser cousin tho, something tells me i'd like him the best!! could you share a little bit about ocs with us?
hi I have a bit of an intro here and I think mostly everything is still accurate, if a bit simplified ^-^
as for Andrea I will try and share some details below but I would not particularly describe him as likeable !
His mother’s family is a very old and noble lineage, but his father comes from a recently established rich merchant family. His mother sticking her fingers into his father’s business helped to elevate her own family’s wealth and political power and eventually set the stage for Andrea’s maternal aunt to wed their duke. In return, his aunt (the now duchess) fostered him from a young age and he was raised and educated alongside his cousins in order to have access to the privileges and positions that may become available to him at court.
He is a second son and his older brother already has children of his own, so he has effectively been locked out of ever inheriting his family’s fortune. Bc of this he’s dedicated himself to being his cousin Francesco, heir to the duchy’s, right-hand man knowing that that’s the best chance he has at establishing a legacy for himself.
He is controlling, and paternalistic, and manipulative with the advantage of the proper class, education, and sex to further leverage for power. But most importantly, to Francesco he is the best brothercousin a guy could ask for and the trust between them allows him to essentially behave as he likes so long as he doesn’t step on his cousin’s toes.

basic ass question, but what kind of brushes do you use for your art? i particularly loved the painterly style on brienne's clothing in the latest piece.
I used a lot of the medium wash brush from this gouache set by Ittai Manero and I’m not sure where exactly I got them but a slightly edited version the opacity brush from this alcohol marker set which is one of my favs <3

unfortunately i’ve been very busy (and then sick) and art blocked since the start of the new year so I haven’t been drawing much save for a few personal sketches. I’m sure the asoiaf bug will return with a vengeance eventually (I have some sketches i’d like to finish but the mood hasn’t struck) but until then I’m just gonna wait it out and not force myself to draw.

hello, i started reading asoiaf a few days ago and found your blog whilst looking for fanart! i fell in love with your work IMMEDIATELY. the portraits of your ocs inspired by tapestries are soooo lovely! i know sharing ocs can be a bit nerve-wracking but i promise i find them incredibly interesting and i'm sure others do as well <3 i've been watching the borgias recently and couldn't help but think of it when i saw them. hope you have a lovely day :)

I actually tried to watch the borgias recently and I just couldn’t do it…I thought the writing was kind of.. bad. and also seeing them give every dress and empire waist was really painful. if it gets better maybe I will persist…

hii um I do not talk abt them very publicly so I do not really know where to start but that being said I will try and share some basic info <3
here is an incomplete family tree. I’m so sane I’m so normal.
the house of farona is the ruling family of a fictional duchy in northern italy in the early 16th century. after the duke niccolò ii dies, his son francesco takes over which is where the conflicts start.
the only characters that I have posted on this account are andrea and lucia (who is not in this tree bc she is unrelated). but I will share a little abt some others too…
Andrea is the second son of his household, and nephew of the duke. he was fostered alongside his cousins at a fairly young age so they very much see each other as brothers. he is away in spain when his uncle dies, and returns at francesco’s behest to help him get things under control early in his reign. his hobbies include physical violence and making the women in his life miserable. he also likes math.
Antonia is the duke’s eldest daughter and already a widow. her marriage was short-lived and she does not talk about it. as soon as her husband died she packed her things and moved back home. she is not very personable and does not often leave her rooms but she enjoys more freedoms than her sisters as a widow. she (correctly) suspects that Francesco and Andrea are looking to (re-)marry her and her sisters off to shore up political alliances. She went quietly when her dad did it, but she is not planning on doing so for her brother. Lucia is primarily her maid.
Francesco is pretty charismatic, but as far as ruling he is mostly just superficially trying to impersonate his father. he relies heavily on Andrea’s advice (which is not bad advice, IF your goal is to be a tyrant). He does not really enjoy ruling, and is happy to leave the boring stuff to others when he can.
Isabella is the fun one <3 a little too fun for the catholic church. She is very extroverted and sweet. Andrea murders her boytoy and afterward things are not looking good for her.
Lucia is the other one I have posted art of. here is a sketch of her and her mother <3 she has her own extended supporting cast but they are not all drawn. she is my angle she can do no wrong despite all the wrongdoings
Lucia was raised in the palazzo kitchens and basements. the safest place for a baby to be… near open flames :) her mother was Antonia’s nursemaid as a babby, and when she grew up, Lucia became Antonia’s maidservant. She is a bit of a sneak and a gossip, but for her it’s just entertainment. She has a bit of history with Andrea from before he left for Spain, and when he comes back it is a very hard lesson that he is not the same person he was when he left. Antonia uses her to hear about the goings on in the palazzo. she does NOT support women she is in it for herself first and foremost.
