Evil doers think I will aim to stop them. Heroes think they will need to stop me. Villages fear when I come to the market.
But I? I am but a hermit trying to live my peaceful life. So, if you aren't going to enrich me according to the life I live GET OUT OF IT!!!
All Magic users are gifted a seed, that grows in step with their power. For the average mage it becomes a trusty wand no longer than their forearm. For some it grows into a great staff. These mages can move mountains and part seas. Yours has grown so much that you’ve decided to live inside it.

Mister Eldorn usually opens the door with a wide and happy smile, tipping almost double the price of the actual order.
That's why my usually sleep deprived self doesn't find it important to care about how wide his cheeks stretch to reveal just slightly too many and too sharp teeth. His genuinely friendly farewells and well wishes are why I ignore how he has too many or too few fingers when waving me off. His good reviews are why my boss always pressures me into delivering the order, despite the look of a final farewell that seems to be in her eyes every time.
Tonight I'd just barely avoided an accident and having to stay and give a statement on top of that made me later than I've ever been for one of mister Eldorn's orders. This order can't be late, though. That's worse than anything I can think of. I can't waste any time.
So I don't.
Instead of stopping for two minutes more than necessary at every stop sign, I follow usual traffic rules. Have the letters always been crooked?
Instead of driving by the city's first library, I drive past a small corner store. My friend lives nearby and has never mentioned it.
Instead of stopping at miss Willen's garden to count the snails till I get to ten, I drive right past. Why isn't she out watering her plants?
I drive right past the old park instead of stopping and going to pick a flower from beside the well. The flowers are all wilted anyway.
Instead of stopping to sing a short lullaby at both ends of the town's stone bridge I just drive over it. There are eyes in the cracks.
I don't circle the three roundabouts near his house three times each and just skip them altogether. The sky is red and the moon's turned black.
I still get to mister Eldorn's house at exactly 9:37. The screaming doesn't bother me like it should.
His doorbell seems to be broken so I knock instead. My bones feel more brittle for every second of contact.
Mister Eldorn isn't the one to open the door.
I never realized how little effort he put into looking human until now. I didn't care enough to think he was anything but.
Now? Now I know how convincing something Other can be. It's eyes aren't bluer than the should be, it's nose isn't sharper. It's hair doesn't have a slight pearly sheen to it or barely hide the pointed ears. It's skin isn't so flawless it's like perfect marble. It's proportions are perfect and everything is in place. It's smile doesn't stretch further than a human mouth can even if it's still too wide.
If I'd never met mister Eldorn I'd have thought this thing was human.
But it's not.
They are similar, but different.
How?
Why?
Oh...
It's invited my inside.
I can't control my body.
Please.
I don't want to follow it into the void masquerading as a house.
Please...
You’re delivering pizza to a man that always asks you to drive a very specific route, involving circling roundabouts 3 times and other odd time wasting directions. He always leaves a great tip but tonight you don’t have time so take a more direct route and find something else answering the door

Tw: mentions of death and the consequences of it. Not explicit or detailed, but still.
So it's been a few years, the Anti-Ecto acts have been abolished, the Fenton Parents arrested for all the trouble they've caused and so on so forth. Whatever you want.
Our story starts when team Phantom(Danny, Sam, Tucker and Jazz) take the (trusted)authorities down to the basement to shut down The Portal.
Right before they cut the power Danny stops them. Not to keep the portal open, just to give them a warning that he has his suspicions of what may still be there. Of course he gives no indication of what his suspicions are.
The power is cut and they watch as the tear in reality gives a few pulses before it softly collapses in on itself, pretty anticlimactic.
Then the stench hits them like a freight train. When they can finally look through the tears in their eyes... they see Danny's body.
Danny, didn't survive the accident. He's not a halfa because he's half-dead-half-alive, he's a halfa because he stopped dying right in the middle of forming. He's very much a ghost, he's just too connected and tethered to his body to the place of his death to finish forming. This is how to comes out he's Phantom.
