“Is that why you’re here then…. to hire me?”
There’s a flicker of something in his eyes. Hurt? Regret. Victor has been in love with her since the end of that very first summer he spent as her bodyguard. Assigned by Don Falcone, he had been irate over a ‘babysitting’ gig, and yet… it hadn’t been anything like that. Merely being Sofia’s shadow, ensuring her safety.
Somewhere along the way he had loved her, and it had never ceased.
“Planning on taking back the Don’s throne… how noble.”
His facade holds, and he tilts his head slightly, a brow raised as she lingers, just as close, and it seems like there is so much distance between them. Victor is almost tempted to tease a brush of a kiss but then she mentions a date. A flicker of something in his eyes and that teasing quality fades into a dullness.
“With who?”
It shouldn’t bother him that she’s going on a date. It’s been years… that spark of jealousy shouldn’t flare up in his chest again. They had never been more then unspoken words and touches, never daring putting a name to what they were.
And she had loved him... that too, had never ceased. Though, love or not, Sofia has hardly been a fair mistress. Even now, upon their reunion, she’s once again demonstrated the rift she’s purposefully kept between them, the imbalance of power due to emotion. She preferred to take and take and never give back.
❝ Jim Gordon. ❞
Sofia could comment further on the purpose of her presence in Gotham, but... that conversation was over. It had ended the moment she’d mentioned her date. Despite all of his sociopathic tendencies, Victor was still a man. Victor was a man with surprisingly vivid emotions who loved her, unspoken or not, and the idea that she would willingly fall into the arms of another... she’s sure it will eat at him. Sofia is doing him no favors.
The trivialities are over. The soft, subtle affection that had danced between them before has turned to tension.
❝ I should go. we have reservations. ❞
Her deep blue dress glitters underneath the bright, stark lighting of the lounge. It reaches them even here, against the dim curve of the back staircase.

❝ No, Odette. ❞ Don Falcone had no interest in retaking Gotham. No, to her father, the city was a lost cause. The power outage and riots, the fall of the Court, and now the GCPD slowly losing its grip… over the past year, the city’s flaws had only grown in intensity… nowadays, Gotham was more trouble than it was worth.
But it was coveted. And coveted things caught Sofia’s eye. The power struggle now meant something… if in the end she could assert herself and gain a seat at the new table, the effort she expended now in standing by Jim Gordon’s side may pay off in the end.
❝ I’m here because I want to be. I’m here in hopes of extending my prerogative. And you know as well as I, a woman with prerogative can be a frightening thing. ❞

Some things don’t surprise him any more. However, hearing her voice was like a long lost memory coming to the surface, filling his mind with all the times they had spent together. He turns slowly, looking over his shoulder first, almost wondering if she was a mirage. Since Don Falcone left the city, he hadn’t seen her.
And yet here she was, in the Lounge.
“Sofia….” Victor is better at hiding his emotions then he used to be, and he holds steady to that mask, and yet - her name slips through his lips with some kind of emotion. I missed you. Dark eyes gazing over her, he steps up, ignoring the proper distance between two people. Instead he’s close, so close, he thinks he can smell her very shampoo. “A pleasant surprise.”
“Cobblepot pays well… of course, there will come a point where someone else pays better.”
❝ I could pay better. ❞
The suggestion slips past her lips before she’s able to stop it. Her focus isn’t supposed to be on him, isn’t supposed to be lingering on the lack of space between them. This isn’t a visit for pleasure, this a visit for business.
❝ I could. ❞ She follows up, reinstating her priorities aloud. Victor Zsasz not on top of her list. Perhaps because she’s afraid of what would happen if he was. They’d always played their game; Victor open with his subtle devotion while Sofia remained closed off to a point. That was just how she tended to look after herself.
She doesn’t need to ‘protect’ herself from Victor. No, it’s the other possibilities that could come alongside his affections that she worries about. Sofia has always been so concerned with being a ‘true’ Falcone, as thus, she’d never felt as through she had time for those telltale emotional games. They would just bog her down in the long run, and this, here, is a prime example.
Holding her chin high, she smiles, lips lingering near his own. ❝ I’m actually on my way to a date… so, I can’t stay long. Though, ❞ shifting, her eyes glance over the patrons of the club, ❝ I’m impressed. Cobblepot’s made quite the attraction in such a short amount of time. ❞

❝ Victor. ❞ The acknowledgement isn’t completely dry. As much as she had attempted to bleed the feeling out of her voice, she can’t quite manage. There’s just a tinge of something... perhaps surprise.
Sofia had fully expected to see him again, just... not so soon. Still, she doesn’t like seeming shaken. A small, serene smile soon twitches onto her lips. ❝ Does Cobblepot pay better than papa does? ❞ The music of the Lounge vibrates through her veins; it’s entirely welcomed, something to focus on other than her quickened heartbeat.

Crystal Reed Cast As Sofia Falcone in‘Gotham’ Season 4 .
The Batman prequel series from Warner Bros TV will see Teen Wolf alumna Reed playing Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Don Falcone. Strong, intelligent and calculating, she has run the Falcone operation in the south for the past 10 years and is returning to Gotham to help Gordon take down Penguin.
Based on characters from DC Comics, Gotham is executive produced by Bruno Heller — who developed the series — Danny Cannon and John Stephens. The series’ large ensemble cast includes Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, David Mazouz, Morena Baccarin, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith, Jessica Lucas, Chris Chalk, Drew Powell, Maggie Geha, Benedict Samuel and Michael Chiklis.
