Welp, it’s not a MiG-29, but she’s pretty in ‘er own way. 💁🏻‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Proud of Poland for donating 28 (!!!) MiG-29s to the Ukraine! An incredible gift. Also proud of Canada for its $7 million lethal military aid donation to the nation, with an additional $25 million in non-lethal aid announced recently. 🤝 to the people who’ve been my biggest cheerleaders, my insta family included! It’s Anti-Bullying Day in Canada, and that’s always meant a lot to me. I’ve personally been the target of false rumours (read: lies), derision, and the hugest ones as far as pain to my heart —> making fun of my being indigenous, my culture, and my faith. I even had someone bully me by telling me that I’m “not that native”, and then accuse me of “taking advantage” of being indigenous. Couples in the cockpit, YES or HELL NAH? I want to hear your vote and your reasons, comment below!!! For me, I don’t see it as an automatic negative if family is flying together in a commercial setting. I’d expect a company to deal with them as any other FO/captain pair, i.e., if there’s a breakdown in communication or CRM, it might require a chat with management, retraining, or some discipline depending on how badly safety was affected. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Anyways I’m biased as all heck since I’ve flown medevac and charter with my husband, and it was an absolute treasure. There’s no one in the world I’d rather help out more and learn from. Just wanna say that loads of indigenous communities in Canada RELY on aviation to bring in critical supplies like food and building materials. If we didn’t use aircraft, we’d be left canoeing crap into some places. It’s been two years that I’ve been on SSRIs!⁣ Two years that I’ve been going back and forth with Transport Canada about my medical.⁣ Two years of paperwork and frustration.⁣ Two years of spending money on pointlessly repetitive doctor’s notes for TC. ⁣ Two years of looking up at airplanes and feeling sad and wondering if I’ll ever sit in one as a pilot ever again. ⁣ ⁣ So damn, does it ever feel good to have this important little stamp in my license now. I DID IT! My category 1 medical has been officially reinstated, and my license stamped. I am now a PILOT once again! Can’t wait to get back into that cockpit and get flying. 👩🏻‍✈️ ⁣ ⁣ I’ve learned a lot through this process, and would love to share it with you all. Especially for those wondering what happens when you start any kind of new medication with your doctor. All of the steps you have to do after you make that decision are sure NOT written anywhere, and are confusing as all hell. Time to talk long-term aviation plans! 🗺 I get asked this a lot. I am currently NOT interested in transporting pax. The “extras” that comes along with the privilege of carrying people doesn’t seem appealing to me personally. My circadian rhythm has always been screwed up, and I’ve always been a natural night owl because of it. Which makes me great for cargo! I’m cheeriest at 3am! 😂 I also like the “humility” that comes with cargo. It is and I find it SOO important to promote a sense of shared humanity - especially in these tumultuous times. It makes me sad to see the judgement, and lack of understanding I’m seeing in my country from my peers towards groups they disagree with. My only big prayer right now is than the country can come back together in respect and solidarity, and that aviation especially comes back with the rigour it once had. ⁣ ⁣ Judging by all the hiring companies are doing, we’re heading in the right direction in that respect!
