My Top 25 kpop songs of 2021

(P.S. These are only my opinions.)

1. Itzy – Loco ‘’Would you believe me if i said i discovered this song only 2 weeks ago and has been blasting it til my ears bleed? Well not discovered, but like i didn’t give it a chance when it was released. BIG MISTAKE! HUGE! It’s entirely my fault, has itzy ever disappointed me? Never tbh, i loved all of their releases so far!’’

2. Everglow – First ‘’This is my battle song, my anthem, the sound i slay my nasty costumers over the head when they annoy me. I predict this will be high on the list, not just because of the title, but because i listened to this song while on bus, while on foot and while on toilet, i’m the bitch of this song!’’

3. Stray Kids – Winter Falls ‘’I’m sure my friends expected a stray kids song to be so high, well i wouldn’t say i’m shocked. Ever since the song got released i listened to it non-stop, and this song got played more than the title tracks or noeasy b sides. Idk what it is, but i predict it’s Seungmin’s adlibs XD. Honestly though the song is magical, i fell in love with the first guitar notes, without watching the MV, just walking on my way to the grocery store i knew, this was my BABY!’’

4. Weeekly – After School ‘’I listened to this song religiously until i was sick of it, which i never did. It just has such a catchy chorus, i dare say it’s the perfect girl group song ever, but i wouldn’t dare. The harmonies at the end is the cherry on the top, just everything about this song is an earworm and if someone can’t see that they are blind and deaf XD.’’

5. Stray Kids – Domino ‘’Could be his own promotional month, this song is that good. AND WE DON’T HAVE AN MV FOR IT!!! I love this song so much and i listened to it so much, i know the rap from the teaser, from the 2nd verse almost by heart. AYE DOMINO 4 LYFE!’’

6. Stray Kids – Thunderous ‘’I’m so sorry for putting this so low, it’s only cuz i’m so indecisive XD. BUT NOTHING, and i mean nothing can separate me from my thunderous kings. I bang bang to this like Changbin with hands folded and laughing at the haters. When this song got released i was sooo soo proud of everything they accomplished, and i didn’t even know how this comeback was gonna be, but i felt it. You FEEL IT with this song, i got blown away.’’

7. TXT – Anti Romantic ‘’They could’ve comeback with this song instead of all the title tracks and i would’ve been satisfied. I do like more fast paced songs, but this just takes the cake, a good melody is everything to get you a place in my heart.’’

8. Sunmi – You can’t sit with us ‘’I feel like this song was overlooked, but i don’t understand why, this is my favourite song from her since Gashina! Give more love to this mean girl ;)’’

9. Lisa – Money ‘’As i’ve said for Anti-Romantic you could’ve just released this and bam, album done, sealed and soled, DONE. The last breakdown is like a crown to the song, i’m so excited for that part i can’t wait to get there, although the whole of the song is just a banger.’’

10. Twice – The Feels ‘’The more i make the list, the higher the songs get, this was like last before i started. XD Honestly i was sceptical about this song, i am used to twice singing Korean songs, although i heard them singing English ones too, i just didn’t know what to expect, but this song has nothing to find fault in, it’s only lower because there are so many good songs this year. So my queens i apologize in advance.’’

11. IVE – Eleven ‘’Yeah i’ve never seen a full episode of any producer show, so what? Doesn’t mean i can’t hear? And what i’m hearing now is really on my taste, the kinda song i wish G-Idle would do again. I’m still little off with the ‘’You make me feel like eleven’’ part, but Wonyoung’s parts are so sweet, feels like i’m eating a secret dessert while listening to this song.’’

12. Twice – Alcohol Free ‘’ A song that i also played continuously, i just felt so sexy listening to this, like how can u not? I’m waiting for my handsome tanned individual to come and swoop me off my feet with a mojito. ;)’’

13. Stray Kids – Cheese ‘’Stray Kids again? Who are we kidding, i’m back in kpop because of stray kids so of fucking course it’s stray kids again, and not to mention if they got a banger like this. Who releases so many bops in one album? Million sellers only ;) It’s so mean, aggressive and sarcastic, it’s everything i want from a song responding to the haters! And i don’t even like cheese. XD’’

14. Oh My Girl – Dun Dun Dance ‘’Are Oh MY Girl the new queens of summer, heck yesss they are! You cannot not like this song, you just have a smile from the first note!’’

15. SF9 – Teardrop ‘’Who ho hoo, who ho hooo, i’m gonna turn into an owl by the time i end this list. This song is magical, how do they come up with this song that just scratches my ears in all the right places? It’s extravagant, magnificent and elegant etc. i can’t find words.’’

16. Rose – Gone ‘’I feel like i have a special relationship with this song, although i’m not even a blink. Knowing how old this song is but how much it meant to Rose made it so much more important to me, it felt like he was ripping my heart into pieces like a piece of paper. No matter how many times i hear it, the world just stops and i can only focus on her voice and the lyrics.’’

17. Ateez – Fireworks ‘’Just one sentence ‘I’m the one in the zone’ from Seonghwa made this my fave song of spring. I rememeber constantly listening to it and feeling like i could set the world on fire. That’s how much power it gives you.’’

18. Ateez – Deja Vu ‘’Wow, ateez really crept into my heart during kingdom, it’s the second song from them on this list. I rarely like a song’s verses and chorus at the same time, i either fell in love with one or the other, and just let the other parts slide. But Ateez make me want to listen to every syllable, this song is a masterpiece.’’

19. Lee Hi – Only ‘’This is the song we will be slow dancing to on our wedding, me and you Seungmin. ;) Okay enough of the deluluness, i can’t explain what feelings it creates for others, for me it is the warmest kiss u receive after pining for the love of your life for 20 years. Basically a fairytile with a kdrama wrapped in a Disney movie, it should sound cheesie, but it’s perfect!’’

20. Young K – Guard You ‘’I want to protect you, come back BRIAN TT! The lyrics hit so hard especially now that he is in the army, but even if i didn’t know this background information i would still cry myself to sleep while bopping my head, does that make sense, no? yes?’’

21. Itzy – Shoot ‘’Yes i discovered this in a tiktok...But listen how can a barely 2:30 minutes song be this iconic? It’s not even that complicated, they repeat the same rhymes and the background music barely changes, but that’s exactly why this works so much!’’

22. TXT – Lovesong ‘’I feel like i’m sinning with putting this song so low, but i honestly like Seori’s oarts the best in the song, and the 1st chorus is great too, but when they sing together with her it’s just something magical. As if i’m running away on a world tour with my s/o and we are riding on a bike in the vast just enjoying FREEDOM. That’s what it feels like, freedom. ^^’’

23. Heize – Happen ‘’How can one have such amazing melodies in their song while having that angelic and tantalizing voice? It should be illegal, i call foul play! It just bursts into your ear and won’t come out!’’

24. Rain & JYP – Switch To Me ‘’I know what u are thinking, but u gotta admit it’s catchy as hell. I can overlook the 1st gen rapping part too for that beat. Also i don’t wanna thirst over married man, but Rain shirtless in that pool... some extra points...’’

25, NCT 127 – Favourite ‘’

Ok, tbh i love NCT doing this song, but it is the kinda song i imagine EXO performing, and the nostalgia, the feels they won’t let me put this song down. I just love the chorus, it’s everything.’
