hello everyone! im back to make a formal announcement about this blog that kae and i run. i know that she has made a post back in september stating that we would be back come october, but since its almost november and we have yet to come back to update and post new content, i’ve come to confirm our hiatus.
as both kae and i get accustomed to university life, especially during this pandemic, we both rarely find time for ourselves, especially a blog. so we have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus until next summer where we will have much more time to run this blog and to write much more things.
now as i say this, i’ve noticed the frequent asks in our inbox regarding cake and aera, who have sadly deactivated. i wanted to add to this post that i truly don’t know exactly what happened to either writer and what led them to their deactivation. cake has told me that she’s doing good, and that she just wanted to deactivate due to personal reasons. aera has told our kg-3 group chat that she was also going to get off of tumblr, but has not said why so i cannot speak for her in this regard. when it comes to the kg-3 collab, there may be a day where i would like to come back to it and finish it, but i’m not sure when that day will come. again i can’t speak for the other collab members and it is their choice whether to continue their story or not.
so to end this post, i would like to thank all of our readers and supporters would have been there for us and are still here with us. kae and i apologize for not being able to commit fully to a blogging life, but what can you do.
we hope to see you all again come summer 2021!

— notes; h-hello! it’s been a month? and i am (sorta) back with another nerd!kuroo fic! still trying to get adjusted with uni so updates and content will still be irregular but enjoy this fic!
“I think that wraps up this meeting! Get home safe everyone!” you said, before shutting off your laptop and placing it in your school bag.
“Great work (L/N)-san!”
“As expected of Nekoma’s Golden Girl!”
“See you all tomorrow!”
You wave goodbye to the other student council members, as they exit the room, leaving you alone to organize some paperwork. You stretch out your arms a bit, to get rid of the aching feeling in your muscles. Being the student council president was tough sometimes.
You had to come up with event ideas, accompany teachers and students a couple times, resolve any disagreements between other students and council members, while focusing on your own studies at the same time. It drained you, yes, but you still loved being able to help and guide the rest of the student body.
You were concentrating on placing the last couple of papers in the council’s organization files, you didn’t hear Kuroo call your name until he said it the 4th time.
“Tetsu! Did you finish volleyball practice?” you asked, cocking your head to the side. Kuroo’s ears tinted red. You noticed the blonde setter on Nekoma’s volleyball club standing behind his best friend, looking off to the side. “Oh, hello Kenma-san!”
Kenma glanced at you, nodding his head before looking away again. You smiled. Although you weren’t as close with Kenma like Kuroo was, you and him still had a good friendship you’d say.
“It was gonna be longer, but everyone wanted time to study for the upcoming midterm exams.” Kuroo replied. Your eyes widened at his words. How could you forget about the midterm exams? Kuroo gave you a pointed look. “Don’t tell me ‘Nekoma’s Pride and Joy’ (L/N) (Y/N) forgot about the midterm exams.”
You stuck your tongue at the raven-haired boy, cringing at the nickname some of the student’s labeled you as. You finished sorting the remaining papers and headed out the school with Kuroo and Kenma. The three of you walked and talked — Kenma playing on his game console— all the way up to Kuroo’s house. You and Kuroo had another study/tutoring session. You needed it now more than ever, since you had forgotten about the exams coming up! The three of you stood in front of Kuroo’s front door.
“Kenma-san, did you want to come study with us?” you asked. Kenma furrowed his eyebrows, focusing on the game in front of him. “It’s alright, you and Kuroo can go ahead.” Kenma replied, before he parted ways from you and Kuroo.
As Kenma walked closer to his house, he felt a drop of rain fall on his nose. Wiping it away, he looks up and sees the dark clouds start to form. ‘I didn’t see (Y/N)-san with an umbrella, and Kuroo always has the broken ones.’ Kenma thought to himself, before he rushed home before anymore rainfall could come.
It had been about three and a half, since the two of you started studying and you could feel yourself starting to lose focus.
“Okay so for this question, you need to find the oxidation numbers for the equation, and then afterwards you find the oxidation numbers for either every element and compound” Kuroo explained. You and him had finished focusing on Biology two hours ago, switching over to Chemistry. But by this point, your brain had lost all its willpower to learn anything new. You stared at the practice question in front of you, your mind drawing a blank. “I’m sorry Tetsu, I think I’m done for today,” you rub your eye, trying to get rid of the tiredenss. “I’m too stupid to understand science anyways.” You place your chin on the top of your knees.
Kuroo scooted over to you, flicking your forehead. “That’s not the positive (Y/N) I know.” You glared at him, rubbing the spot he hit. “Besides you’re not stupid, as Albert Einstein had said, ‘The difference between stupidity and genius, is that genius has its limits.” he smiles at you, “You just reached your limit today.”
The two of you pack up your books and papers, Kuroo walking you down the stairs and up to his front door. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asked, to which you nodded your head. The minute you opened the door, a flash of thunder scares you, as you jump back and hit Kuroo.
“The weather said nothing about rain.” you said, looking in your bag to find your umbrella. “I think I left my umbrella at home too.” You look back at the rain pouring. How were you going to get home?
Kuroo walked around you, and shut the door closed, “There’s no way I’m letting you go out there. Just stay here until the rain stops.” It looked like you had no other option, so you took off your shoes once again, following Kuroo as he went into his kitchen.
“Here I can make us some tea.” he said, reaching into one of the cabinets. You took a seat at the island bar, watching him. That is until the tip of your finger hit something placed on the table. You glanced down to see the first book of the ‘Harry Potter’ series laying on the counter.
“I remember this book!” you gushed out and lifted the book to inspect the cover. “It’s been a while but I still remember I belonged in (House Name).”
Kuroo looked over at you from where he stood, “Oh yeah? I’m in Ravenclaw.” Glancing up, you laughed, “I can definitely see that. You’re the top of our class Mr. Volleyball Captain” The both of you chuckled.
“Wanna read the book?” he asked, finishing up the tea he had been making. “It’ll be a couple hours until the rain stops and we have nothing better to do.”
“Reading something that isn’t from a textbook? Count me in.” you replied. Once Kuroo had finished making the tea, you both went back up to his room. Settling in on his bed, you and Kuroo leaned back against his pillows as he opened the novel.
You both took turns reading out loud, the different chapters that were in front of you. You both became so immersed into reading, you hadn’t noticed the rain had stopped. “Hermione does not sound like that.” you laughed when Kuroo used an overly high pitched voice to read out one of her lines. The part of the novel where Ron and Harry first meet her, Hermione calling out Ron for a spell she believed was not a real spell.
“I think I portrayed Hermione quite nicely.” Kuroo rebutted. You laughed again, the two of you using funny sounding voices whenever you were reading a line a character was saying. Reading something fun that dealt with magic and wizards rather than compounds and elements cheered you up. Which was something Kuroo wanted to do the minute he noticed you sadden at the upcoming exams.
Once the two of you had finished the novel, it was time for you to go home. “I wanna read the second novel now. These types of stories always entertained me.” you said, putting on your shoes. “I have the whole series. We could read a book together every so often if you want?” Kuroo suggested.
You smiled, “I’d like that!”
It had now become a tradition that whenever the weather called for rain, the two of you would spend the time reading an old novel you both liked, as the rain continued to fall outside.
