Hi, I'm Seraph. I draw sometimes, and try to semi-regularly post stuff on AO3. I also build DIY Keyblades! (Though those take even longer than my writing does...)
I recently got into Sally Face, and have now started on a longer project for that fandom that includes me making a lot of semi-shitty art. But I did draw one Sal that I like quite a lot.
I am finally done with the papier mâché! And it took fucking ages.
Just for reference: I started a Bungo Stray Dogs rewatch when I started with the papier mâché, so I'd have something in the background to watch while working. Which is five seasons and a movie, which amounts to around 22 hours, and doing the papier mâché took longer than that.
So, I'm currently suffering through the KH3 data fights. And so far, I've only beaten Young Xehanort, and am now repeatedly getting kicked to the curb by Vanitas, though I've dipped my toes into most of the fights by now, just to gauge which one I'll reasonably beat sometime in the near future.
And one detail I noticed, that I really like (though I'm definitely not the first person to see this): When you die in the fight against Ansem (who is a Heartless), Sora actually loses his heart, and it floats over him on the death screen, which it doesn't do for any other fight.
Things are progressing smoothely, details are being added, and i bought three meters of plastic chain that will hopefully be enough to wrap the blade in it.
I think I am now past the point of being very controlled and accurate, and reached the one of "hacking around in it wildly and hoping for the best". So far, it's going relatively well I'd say...
I'm really happy with how this turned out, especially since it was a lot of fun to work on this thing, too. (Disregarding the times I was ready to rip my hair out because I realized I'd missed something or got something else wrong...)
The colours aren't quite accurate to the games, but I took some artistic liberties because I didn't want to make the hilt blue. So it's silver now.
Also, would anyone be interested in some kind of tutorial or something on how I made this? Been thinking about making one and was wondering if anyone even wants something like that.
I also just realized that the picture I was using as reference for Braveheart was incorrect when I looked at some KH3 cutscenes to figure out the exact colours for this thing.
Because the keychain on the picture had round links while the keyblade in game has normal-ass chain links.
Fun to find out about that when I was literally almost done with the god damn keychain.
It is. So awesome when you're nearly done with making something and are incredibly happy to be close to finishing it, and then realize that you forgot a detail.
On another note, I just realized I forgot to add some stuff on Breavheart's hilt even though I already started colouring the damn thing because I thought I was done. Hooray.
