jokes like these also stem from actively wanting to enact the role of an oppressor. even if the group that's being joked about isn't ostensibly oppressed already, all this amounts to is "let's create an arbitrary divide in society so that i can live out my fantasy of being a bully". i don't trust anyone who finds that funny
Your “let’s systematically oppress X” jokes are distasteful, tumblr. Don’t do that. I don’t have the energy to explain why, so I’m gonna go to bed and anyone who wants to explain is free to do so cause there’s a 90% chance I’m gonna forget I made this post.

I mean I’ve heard that some people don’t like the word allosexual because something about it being like the word allistic and autistic people not wanting this word to be used which honestly makes no sense because no autistic I’ve seen (including myself) thinks the word allosexual is bad and I think it was mostly allistics assuming things and talking over autistics. (At least I swear I remember seeing discourse about this somewhere)
That’s like saying we need to get rid of the word bisexual because it’s too similar to bicycle like what even

exclusionists: we cant let [insert group of the day] into our safe spaces because they’ll fake marginalized identities for discourse points
also exclusionists: 95% white cis women parroting radfem ideology on sideblogs where they pretend to be any number of things they arent for discourse points

one day i too will have the nads to make up absolute lies with this level of disinterest in making it even slightly believable
As an autistic a-spec person "a-spec" always was and is for asexual and aromantic people and you're allistic fuck off you're speaking over me
The term you’re confusing a-spec for is probably ASD
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Because, yes, autism is a spectrum
But it’s always been called the autism spectrum and literally no-one says “a-spec” to refer to the autism spectrum
Much like autism, asexuality and aromanticism are ALSO spectrums
So together they are “a-spec” and individually they are “ace-spec” and “aro-spec”
So fuck you

love when exclusionists pretend to give a shit about nb/gq people's ~health~ while actively contributing to an environment that makes them unsafe
what if I identified as “ocpdgender.” think about that for a second: ocpd (heavily simplified for this example) involves a need for perfection. we could even say that the definition of “ocpdgender” is “needing a label that fits perfectly but being unable to find one because none are perfect.”
but doesn’t that sound harmful? making up an identity to describe how my symptoms interact with my gender? it’s very anti-recovery — and I know “anti-recovery” doesn’t really work when in reference to personality disorders, so how about “anti-positive coping” — because it makes my symptoms part of my gender. it makes it so I am unable to distance my neurodivergency from my identity, which is quite harmful. you are not defined by your mental illness.

i really don’t wanna be the one to say this but
Tumblr media
you know what? i’m just gonna say it.
people tend to forget that terfs are feminists??! like, they’re vile and revolting and demonic but they’re feminists, and therefore tend to… well… agree with many of the things that non-terf feminists say. they talk about sexism, lesbophobia, rape culture, misogyny, etc. when there’s a post that is completely unrelated to trans exclusion and there are many terfs reblogging it, that doesn’t mean that it’s ~~~terf rhetoric uwu~~~, it just means that terfs agree with it, and while this may come off wrong, not everything that terfs say is bad.
before you decapitate me, let me explain. i hate terfs as much as the next guy. they piss me off and make me want to cry out of frustration and rage. i love my trans sisters and would defend them with my life. HOWEVER. i am also a feminist, and therefore i tend to reblog/make posts that some terfs will agree with, as much as i don’t like it. take for example a post about how casual sexism affects women on their daily lives. we can agree that this isn’t “terf rhetoric”, it’s basic feminism. however, terfs are gonna agree with it, not because it’s fucking “terf rhetoric” but because it’s about feminism and TERFS ARE FEMINISTS. shitty ones, but they’re feminists.
so when you see a post that has nothing to do with excluding, belittling, misgendering or mistreating trans women, and it has several terfs interacting with it, you should think critically before saying something stupid like “wow op this is terf rhetoric because a lot of terfs agree with you :/” in a post about like, lesbian issues. “terf rhetoric” (note the misuse of the term rhetoric but whatever) means “excluding and mistreating trans women”. anything that isn’t about excluding or mistreating trans women isn’t terf rhetoric.
believe it or not, terfs don’t sit around all day plotting the ultimate demise of trans women, they also have concerns about things that are Not Bad. i just saw a post where a lesbian talked about her negative experiences with mogai identities and some dumbass said “hey op… notice all the terfs in the notes??” one time i made a post about misogyny and a lot of terfs were interacting with it, so when i added something like “terfs fuck off” some dumbass replied “well this is Terf Rhetoric™ so…”. and just… no. nope! learn to think critically before saying this kind of senseless bullshit. bye!
(and before any of you assholes makes a “user cherrydiscourse is being a terf apologist :/” callout post or something, read what i actually wrote and think. critically.)

it’s infinitely more accurate to characterize a trans woman as a woman pretending to be a man than it is to say she’s a man pretending to be a woman

u kno ill just go out n say it.. im done with this anti-mogai shit.
its the same shit as ppl have been doing to make fun of nb n pan ppl for years now.
same shit, “special snowflakes”, made up identities, and mocking others’ identities.. like u all make no effort to distance urself or distinguish urself from the previous bunch of anti-mogai ppl.
i’ve seen this shit for years now, largely from anti-sjws and anti-tucutes.. and i’m meant to just put up with it now that another group is targeted?
also, i’m noticing a huge pattern of binary trans and cis people doing this shit too.. even reusing the arguments used against nb people or to mock em.
talks of oppression fetishes, tainting our image, just so much respectability politics and identity policing? i can’t believe you all just thinking we gotta put up with this.
so anyway, please fuck off if you unironicly make fun of mogais in this year of 2017, and stuff refer to shit like “made up mogai identities” or refer to some deceitful n bigoted “mogai ideology”..

“Being able to tell the difference between fiction and reality” is kinda… not the point. At all.
It’s a lousy argument that completely misses the point entirely.
Cultivation theory, at it’s baseline, doesn’t say that consuming, say, violent media makes you wanna kill or hurt people. What cultivation theory IS is saying “the proliferation of excessive violent media can influence how the people who consume that media perceive about the world” ie a person with already violent tendencies might be more likely to act on those violent tendencies because, due to the sheer glut of violent media, violence might seem more acceptable than it actually is culturally.
And this shit is subconscious, you can’t say you’re not affected by it because “you know the difference between fiction and reality”, because often time you don’t actively register that it IS influencing you. Or, in the case of many ads, you do know it’s trying to influence you and you put up guard walls - but that burger on screen DOES look delicious and the Burger King is only down the road so why not grab something to eat? The decline of sharks due to Jaws is people perceiving the sharks as inherently dangerous to human and, thus, to keep people safe, need to be culled. The rise of the KKK in the late 1910′s and early 20′s was due to Birth of a Nation portraying the KKK as sympathetic and cool. The decline of the KKK in the 40s can be attributed to their mocking portrayal Superman radio serials. This shit all matters.
This shit is all people being influenced by fiction even if they can acknowledge that fiction isn’t reality.

nice to see aphobes have reached the “thump your textbooks if you don’t have an argument” chapter of the radfem manual.
Btw asexuality and aromanticism remain valid orientations and anyone who says otherwise is very full of shit
(This absolutely includes calling other ppl’s orientations “modifiers” like shut up)

If your argument EVER rides on “but x group wasn’t at stonewall” you’re a fucking tool. MOST community terms and language are new and folks talk constantly about how they identified as other groups back in the day before they created terms for more specific identities.
Not to mention, this is incredibly US centric and an illogical spot in history to mark as “if you weren’t here you aren’t part of the community,” considering it was completely different in other parts of the world.
Stop being little pricks
