Sheena Quito
Sheena Quito’s critique paper, she started it by describing that the footnote to youth emphasized that adolescent marriage is what the challenges young people face here. Which serves as a reminder of the dangers of child love and unexpected affection in young people. She also says that the theme of the story is quite smart and dramatic. It's also a message, to prevent young people now that the pregnancy rate is high. And it gives a message to readers that marriage is not for vague fantasies and naive love.

Footnote to Youth
By: Jose Garcia Villa
Marxist Criticism
This story is about a man who wants to marry his girlfriend. It can be seen here that Dodong's family survived by planting. Planting was the reason why he grew well. What the writer wants to convey is to be careful in deciding. Do not let the heart take the lead, especially in decision making. It also shows that you have a parent who is willing to listen and give advice, especially when you make a decision. Don't be selfish. This story shows that Dodong and Teang eventually realized that it was not easy for them to be parents at an early age. It also shows that Dodong also did what his father did. So he felt sad and sorry for his son.

Reader Response Criticism:
This story is about the young man Dodong. Dodong wants to marry his girlfriend Teang. It can be seen here that Dodong is determined in their decision. What I liked about this story is it provides reminders to young people. Like thinking carefully before doing what they want to do. In this story and shown not to let what the heart says it must be balanced. What the mind wants should also be the decision of your heart. Because if you let your heart take over, your life will be miserable and difficult, because you did not use your brain. And it's better if they ask for advice from their parents, especially when you decide. What I didn't like about one part of the story was that Dodong just let his son do the wrong thing he did before.

Footnote to Youth

Feminist:
This story is about the couple Dodong and Teang. They both want to get married at a young age. They were determined in their decision to get married. So Dodong dared to tell his father. But in this story you can see that Dodong first asked for his girlfriend's hand before telling his family. It also showed that Dodong's parents respected his decision. So when the two got married, they had a son named Blas. As time went on, Dodong and Tong realized that it was difficult to be a parent at an early age. It was also mentioned in the story that Teang thought that if maybe she didn't get married right away she wouldn't have a hard time. But he also remembered the reason why they were in such a situation was because they both loved each other. When their son Blas turned 18 he said he wanted to marry his fiancée Tona. Dodong remembered himself with his son. His son Blas was also determined so he did nothing. Dodong felt sad and sorry for his son.

Formalism:
The story is about a young man Dodong who wants to marry his beloved Teang at an early age. Dodong told his father that he wanted to marry Teang. And his father asked him if he should get married. He is too young to get married, his father said. Dodong thought his father didn't want to. So he asked his father if his against to Dodong's decision. Dodong is eager in his decision to marry Teang. The time was fast for them Dodong and Teang who have a son named Blas. As time went on they both realized that parenting at a young age was not easy. Teang thought that if she hadn't married Dodong right away, she wouldn't have suffered. But he remembered the reason why he agreed was because he loved Dodong. Dodong has a lot of questions, such as why are the gloves happening to him. When his son Blas was 18 years old. He said that he wanted to marry his dear Tona. Dodong said what his father said to his son. In the end he could do nothing but allow his son do what he wants to do.

" When I see a Barong-barong " by Maximo D. Ramos
This poem "When I see a Barong Barong" by Maximo D. Ramos is all about Barong Barong. How Maximo Ramos describes the difficult and chaotic manila in his poem. The barong barong is often found beside rivers or under bridges often inhabited by so -called “squatters”. The poet Maximo Ramos described what the state of Manila was like then and the so -called Barong Barong. He described it without any criticism such as disgust, he didn't even say that's its a smelly place or dirty place. In this poem, Maximo returns to its former appearance before making the barong barong. Before the Barong Barong was made, there used to be a well -built mansion. And Maximo saw it with others in the same way that others see dirty places. Instead of pity, Maximo sees the Barong Barong full of pride. He sees more how brave the Filipinos are. How Filipinos will live even if their house is Barong Barong. And how other Filipinos living in barong barong are differentiated from Filipinos living in beautiful and well -kept houses. This poem also shows how courageous the Filipinos are, even though they feel full of hardship and hatred, they do not give up immediately. Instead the Filipinos gave up and they were very strong especially during the crisis even though they went back to the beginning. This poem shows how determined Filipinos are even in times of hardship. But this poem is really about how Maximo Ramos saw the shack and how others ignored it.

He Who Sleeps On My Lap by Ronald Baytan
The poem "He who sleeps on my lap" by Ronald baytan. Is all about a guy who loves his friend. This is about a homosexual guy who loves his friend but his friend loves someone else. There is a line in the poem "A man needs a woman" and he disagrees because apart from the fact that he likes his friend there are many other reasons why he disagrees. This guy loves his friend, but is unwilling to reveal his feelings for his friend. Because of his fear of being hurt and rejected by his friend and not only by his friend, but also of his family and other people around him. He is afraid that others will find out what gender he really is. And he wished that when his friend woke up, he was the one he had dreamed of.

The idea of the essay revolves in Filipino culture and was compared with American culture. Its all about a Filipino who missed the Filipino traditions, culture and delicacy. But even if we Filipinos love to travel, we will not lose the idea that we are Filipinos that even though we have not been abroad for a long time, we miss what we do in the Philippines. This essay tells us that even though we love to travel, and we want to discover other things, or dream of being able to go abroad, our traditions, cultures and delicacies still dominate us.

1. What are Citations?
A citation is a reference to a source. More precisely, a citation is an abbreviated alphanumeric expression embedded in the body of an intellectual work that denotes an entry in the bibliographic references section of the work for the purpose of acknowledging the relevance of the works of others to the topic of discussion at the spot where the citation appears.
2. What are the different types of citations? Give each at least 3 examples.
Two Types of Citations
There are two types of citations.
* In-text citations appear throughout your paper at the end of a sentence you are citing. They tell your reader where you found the information used to come up with a particular idea.
example:
* (Field, 2005, p. 14).
* Ratcliff testified that he was on vacation when his neighbor's tree fell in his yard (13).
* The auditor's report identified a number of issues such as the number of accidents, time of day, road conditions and age of driver. (Smith 29).
* Works cited page (MLA) or reference list (APA) citations give all of the information your reader would need to find your source. They appear at the end of your paper as a separate page listing all of the sources you used.
Examples:
* APA-An APA in-text citation consists of the author's last name and the year of publication (also known as the author-date system). If you're citing a specific part of a source, you should also include a locator such as a page number or timestamp. For example: (Smith, 2020, p. 170).
2 authors - cite both names every time the reference occurs in the text. The same methods as above can be used. Example: (Smith & Jones, 2009).
* 3 - 5 authors - Include all names in the first in text citation. Example: (Smith, Jones, Brown & Harris, 2009); in subsequent references include only the first author's name followed by 'et al.' and the date. Example: (Smith et al., 2009).
* MLA- MLA format follows the author-page method of in-text citation. This means that the author's last name and the page number(s) from which the quotation or paraphrase is taken must appear in the text, and a complete reference should appear on your Works Cited page.
Examples:
Dean, Cornelia. "Executive on a Mission: Saving the Planet." The New York Times, 22 May 2007, www.nytimes.com/2007/05/22/science/earth/22ander.html?_r=0. Accessed 29 May 2019.

"Is it necessary for a student to utilize the use of academic text when internet connection is ready to use?"
For me, its a yes, instead of using what is written on the internet, it is better if you get idea from the internet. And not all of the information in the internet is true, it maybe just opinion or what. Not all students depends on what is written on the internet. Some students prefer to work on their own and do not depend on the internet. Even if internet connection is ready to use you can’t just depend on it, because some information in the internet is not true or its just an opinion. But I think its better if we work on our own. Its ok too if we get some ideas on the internet but make sure that you don’t just copy and paste it. Its necessary to use academic text even if there’s an internet connection.
