Are we approaching things from a point of self-authenticity, or are our ego-patterns directing us? Leon Vanderpol joined us to talk about how profound awakening and consciousness may open up a whole new paradigm of leadership potential. Leon Vanderpol joined us on the xMonks Drive to discuss how consciousness and profound awakening can unlock a whole new paradigm of leadership potential. Here is an edited version of the conversation.
Can A 5-year Old Understand ‘Being’?
When no one is looking, you explain to a five-year-old that it's just who you are. And even a five-year-old can sense it. It's just a sense of guilt when no one's looking, when mum and dad are around grandparents and around, but that's not only for a five-year-old. That's a fantastic way to express a sense of being to people of all ages, including adults with disabilities. Who are you at that moment, when no one, and I mean no one, appears to be looking at you in any way? Because this is a tough feature of selfhood to put into words.
We've learnt a lot about ourselves through psychology, psychiatry, coaching, and a variety of other techniques. We've discovered a lot about ourselves as a race.
But beingness is still a kind of uncharted territory; it's right up there with awareness in terms of understanding how this strange phenomenon that gives rise to my sense of self is a part of my energy systems, my aura, and my consciousness.
A Shift in Being: The Art and The Practices of Deep Transformation- What does it mean? When you say, Shift and Being?
It's equivalent to a shift in consciousness, to put it that way. For some people, that may be a more understandable word to grasp the concept of consciousness-expanding on many levels. In that situation, each level of consciousness has its own built-in reality, as he explains in his book.
So, once you realised that each level of consciousness has its own built-in reality, it will occur to you that as we shift our state of consciousness or way of being in this world into these more expansive levels, our perceptions shift automatically, mirroring or reflecting the consciousness reality, if you will.
However, in a lot of coaching, we're not really focusing on helping individuals transform their state of being or consciousness; instead, we're having them think differently or think through problems. But my assumption going into this session is that my existing state of consciousness is not the goal, that I don't need to shift it, and that I can accomplish what I want in this session with my current state of being or consciousness.
To deepen your understanding of authentic self and awareness of being, tune into the conversation here.

Coaching in the time of Crisis (baby blog)
Whether one realizes or not, a key element of a manager's duty is the ability to coach. Managers must coach and mentor their immediate reports. In an informal context, skilled coaches provide guidance to explore organisational difficulties and combat bad encounters. Coaching can also bring talents or abilities to the surface that have been dormant in the past. It motivates individuals involved in the process to think of fresh approaches to solve problems that were previously thought to be insurmountable.
4 THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR LEADERSHIP COACH IN THESE TIMES ARE:
KNOW YOUR EMOTIONS
As a coach, your goal is to connect with your clients' emotions and help them work through their maps. That said, it's critical, to be honest, and explain yourself succinctly in a constructive manner that advances the conversation.
UNDERSTAND WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND
This entails being aware of what is within and outside of your sphere of influence. Coaching can assist you in determining what you can control and what you cannot control in the current situation. Work with your coach to explore and develop tension around issues that are beyond your control so that you can come to terms with them.
WHAT IS YOUR PRIORITY
A coach can help you focus your efforts on the things that are most important to you. Prioritization will assist you in gaining momentum and achieving your objectives.
OPEN COMMUNICATION
You can have all the plans in place, but you can't expect your team members to be clear on the subject if you don't communicate well. A communication coach can assist you in honing your interpersonal skills and enhancing your ability to communicate effectively. We should all take the time to re-evaluate our level of stress by connecting with a coach now for the sake of our society and ourselves.

The Helix of Coaching Style and Leadership
Leaders who receive coaching, according to Hall et al. (1999), are more likely to be goal and connection-focused, as well as provide more direction, than managers who do not receive coaching. Leaders who use a coaching approach are known as "leader–coaches." They assist their employees in developing self-confidence and self-responsibility by offering them options wherever possible while maintaining a good balance of support and challenge.
A Coaching Leadership Style, according to Henson (2013), promotes confidence, increases individual competency, and aids in the formation of a strong commitment to common goals. Leaders also try to improve and strengthen their own abilities as leaders.
A Look at Coaching Leadership Styles
The Coercive Style or “Do what I say”
This leadership style is commonly recommended for use in crisis situations or when the employer does not trust troublesome employees.
The Authoritative Style or “Come with me”
This leadership style typically needs the team's high proficiency in completing the work, as well as the leadership's greatest understanding of the end result.
The Affiliative Style or “People come first”
This approach is the most successful when the goal is to increase team unity or morale. Praising comes first in this leadership style.
The Democratic Style or “People choose”
Using this strategy, employees in the company have a say in decisions. This leadership style, when implemented correctly, promotes organisational flexibility and responsibility, enabling the production of new and innovative ideas.
The Pacesetting Style or “Lead by example”
This method is generally displayed by executives who set high-performance standards and explain how to meet them. Employees consider their supervisors to be self-motivated and capable.
The Coaching Style or “Bring your best self”
When individuals have the autonomy and competencies to execute their jobs and are encouraged to improve in order to achieve better results, this leadership style promotes a very positive connection between the leader and the employee.
A coaching leadership style is a good technique to build a meaningful relationship while also developing a leader's emotional intelligence. Although developing this method takes time and effort, the benefits to the leader are well worth the effort.

Transforming lives through mentorship!
Every year, a big number of people make an internal transfer, reaching the stage when they are ready to pursue a different career. For some, this advancement entails leaving the workforce to return to school and develop a new set of skills. Others work their way back into the workforce after finishing school, serving in the military, or working with children. Whatever the driving cause for career advancement, the road ahead is fraught with new challenges. This handbook is designed to alleviate the stress of transitioning into or out of the workforce. Preparing for a paradigm shift to Life Coaching is one such transformation.
Having said that, being aware of one's potential, capabilities, and expected outcomes is an excellent way to determine whether an enterprise is the greatest fit for you. On the other hand, it's a good idea to go back and uncover the core source of these questions.
Whatever the case may be, there is a way out. Cash is nothing more than a numerical condition. Making a living or paying off your business is as simple as this number condition: I need to make X dollars to live my life the way I want to live it. I have enough energy to accommodate Y amount of consumers. For my administration, I must charge Z dollars.
What you truly need to comprehend is:
Your potential is constrained by your dread.
You have the ability to see the vision and get it going.
You can charge what you need. You can work when you need to. What’s more, you can pick who you need to work with.
When you first realise the power of your values, your financial limitations tend to crumble. You then recognise that you are in power and that you are the creator of your own life. You realised that if you engage in vigorous, intensive, and consistent exercise, you can have anything you desire.

The coaching industry has changed dramatically throughout the years. Not only did it become popular, but it has also become a phrase. You can't make a stride left or appropriate without meeting a type of life or business mentor—all things considered. More research is being done to show the viability of instructing, especially in the workplace. It's a capable instrument that breaks down barriers, allowing personnel to roam around, and strengthens business resolve.
Now let us explore the reasons why Coaching is important.
1. By combining demonstrative gadgets and techniques, coaching will extend your range of talents.
A confirmation programme will equip you with tried-and-true tools and processes to assist your customers in succeeding. You already have a great foundation; nevertheless, your toolkit will be better prepared to handle any situation, allowing you to engage with clients and partners more effectively.
2. It will help you build your honesty and genuineness as an expert mentor.
Confirmation is a straightforward technique to emerge in an unquestionably saturated market. It helps you gain notoriety, promotes you as a legitimate expert, and provides a temporary coating of legitimacy.
 3. You’ll open the way to another group.
We are occasionally confronted with situations in which we are unsure about how to proceed. You'll have access to a network of colleagues, instructors, and companions when you're a part of a group of trusted mentors. It's impossible to stress the importance of understanding when you need help and being able to reach out to a network of like-minded experts who are willing to help.
To summarise, the major reason you, as a mentor, should invest in an authorised mentor guidance preparation programme is that you will gain the skills to better support your clients to succeed, as well as develop more contacts that will help you in the future.

The Conscious Mind The Subconscious MindThe Unconscious Mind
When we say ‘Tip of the Iceberg’, the protruding tip of the iceberg represents our conscious awareness(we will get back to it). Only the conscious mind is the "tip of the iceberg." The vast majority of the iceberg, which represents the unconscious, is submerged in water. Let's delve deeper into these levels to learn more about how they work.
The Three Levels of Human Consciousness-The Conscious, Unconscious, and the Subconscious Minds
Conduct and personality, according to Sigmund Freud, are the consequence of constant and unique interaction of contending psychological forces functioning at three levels of awareness: preconscious, conscious, and unconscious.
To understand Freud's theory, you must first understand what he thought each component of personality accomplished, how it worked, and how these three components interact to contribute to human experience.
The conscious state is the initial level of consciousness, and it corresponds to our current awareness as you read this. We use our conscious mind when we get information from our senses, process it, and then make decisions based on that information.
Dreams are formed at the subconscious level of consciousness. It might be thought of as a repository for all recalled experiences, the mental impressions they leave, and the tendencies that these impressions arouse or perpetuate.
The unconscious is the highest level of awareness. This is made up of our subconscious ideas, memories, and primitive/instinctual wants, which are buried deep within us, far below our conscious awareness. Despite the fact that we are oblivious of their presence, they have a significant influence on our behaviour.
Explore Consciousness at The Coaching Conclave
Every single being that has ever existed has passed through various levels of human consciousness. Every iota that arises from Shunya evolves, multiplies, and expands till it merges with consciousness.
And, the consciousness further expands into collective awareness. What happens after that – is the journey that we are explored  at The Coaching Conclave 2021.

How do these trauma-driven brain changes impact the adult learner? Childhood trauma adds to the risk of future trauma
One-third of adult learners are trauma-impacted due to adverse childhood experiences (ACES) (Perry, 2006).
Given the fundamental cognitive, social, and physical growth that happens throughout the early years of life, childhood events are formative in establishing an individual's life trajectory. If we approach our clients through a trauma-informed lens, we will develop empathy for them.
If a youngster has been exposed to, observed, or experienced abuse, there's a good chance that adults have disregarded him or her–mentally or physically. This shows that if a child grows up in a traumatic setting, they will be exposed to the impacts of trauma as an adult.
Why should trauma impact matter to coaches, trainers, or leaders?
Understanding the extensive impact of trauma on the brain and its wide reach across the different range of adult learners we serve is crucial to coaching practice. As bad as the news about trauma is, the brain has a huge capability for restoration and recovery. There are numerous things we can do to assist in quiet the fires of reactivity and encourage healing and learning by designing learning settings and activities.
The adaptive response harnessed by a child in a frightening situation is to freeze or disassociate, running away (flight) or fighting back (fight).
The traumatized adult lives in a constant state of fear and hypervigilance as a result of the physical alterations in the brain. He is constantly on the alert for danger and is hypersensitive to changes in others' voices, body posture, and facial expressions because they are the early warning indications he relies on to keep safe in dangerous situations (Perry, 2006).
Childhood trauma can result from anything that disrupts a child’s sense of safety, including:
An unstable or unsafe environment
Separation from a parent
Serious illness
Intrusive medical procedures
Sexual, physical, or verbal abuse
Domestic violence
Even if the trauma occurred many years ago, there are measures one may take to overcome the suffering, regain emotional equilibrium, and learn to trust and connect with others again.

Investigate the Motivation Theory
Human decision-making is fundamentally based on values. We feel liberated when an organization's culture coincides with our personal values. We have the freedom to bring our entire selves to work.
‘Values can constrain us and our advancement,' according to another concept. However, it is simple to ingest as you read.
What are Potentially Limiting Values?
Commitment, honesty, transparency, creativity, friendship, love, and other positive values exist. There are also other behaviours that go along with them. Other behaviours, such as straightforward and internal competition in an organisation, are driven by various elements of our psychological being, the worries of the ego, which motivates us to do things like jealousy. Now, some potentially limiting values are always potentially limiting.
Values, Needs and Motivation
Maslow claimed that human needs may be structured into a hierarchy in order to better understand what motivates human beings. When a lower need is met, we shift our attention to the next need in the hierarchy.
The needs are as follows, from the bottom of the hierarchy up:
Physiological (food, water, clothing, and shelter),
safety (job security, emotional well-being, health security, and financial security),
love and belonging needs (friendship, spouse love),
esteem (self-confidence and freedom), and
self-actualization
Individuals must attend to lower-level demands before they can attend to higher-level requirements.
The Theory of Motivation
Our beliefs are always aimed toward meeting our needs, and our motives are always driven by our needs.
“When a company's values are aligned with employees' aspirational values, the consequence is consistently good results.”
When an organization's beliefs are in sync, it can recruit and retain brilliant employees while also building a strong brand.
