We're only halfway through junior year and already there are SO many quotes from this season that have rewritten my brain chemistry.
"In the marketplace of ideas, certainty and confidence will always find eager buyers. But that doesn't mean that they are always true."
"Agreements exist wordlessly, and they exist without acknowledgement or even consciousness on the part of those who have engaged in them. But agreements are at their most potent when they are conscious."
"The winds are cold and we are made to warm each other. And the night is long and that is why we keep the fire lit."
"There is no agreement we are more likely to break than one we have made with ourselves."
"The difference between an oath and rage is about. That thin."
"Your vision of thriving is like a garden that grows explosively in all directions and is flowering and da da da da. But there's thriving like a tall and ancient tree. There's thriving like grass."
"I just felt really weird about. Being mad. I didn't want to do it unless it felt, like, really necessary or justified."

I was thinking that it was crazy that the Gukgaks didn't get any kind of financial assistance - including money for post-secondary education - from the government after Pok's death, given his successful track record and dying in the line of duty.
And then I remembered that Kalina pulled strings to get Pok on a list of enemies of the state right before his death which would probably be the equivalent of a dishonorable discharge, and revoke any of that assistance that would have come otherwise.
So it's another thing Kalina took from Riz, besides his father - his chance at college, without running himself into the ground to get there.

Called it.
There are several records of it. The more historical one says that the earliest place of the gem was in the statue of the eye of Kali, the hindu goddess of time, entropy, and destruction, famous for beheading and drinking the blood of the demon named Raktbeej, which translates to Bloodseed since he got more minions the more his blood spilled on the ground.
Some versions of the myths suggest that Kali was born via wrath of a divine cat lady, the goddess of battle, courage, and protection Durga, who rode into battle on her ride, a tiger.
I have some news for the peeps who are happy about the Queen Elizabeth's death.
So y'all know how there is a stolen diamond called Kohinoor on the British crown?
The diamond has a curse on it. Only a god or a woman can wield it without suffering back luck.
So keep your eyes peeled for some chaos as Charles gets crowned.

Instead of ceremonial wine we have a calender of what drinks our prophet Kristen Applebees was into at the given time and that's what we have in church as we listen to the sermon.
Walking into the Church of Cassandra, Ancient Goddess of Mystery and Doubt, Mother of the Welcoming Dark, I turn to greet the priestess with the traditional greeting of the acolytes of the order. “Heeeeey, Girlieeeee.” 👁️👁️

I got to hold a 500,000 year old hand axe at the museum today.
It's right-handed
I am right-handed
There are grooves for the thumb and knuckle to grip that fit my hand perfectly
I have calluses there from holding my stylus and pencils and the gardening tools.
There are sharper and blunter parts of the edge, for different types of cutting, as well as a point for piercing.
I know exactly how to use this to butcher a carcass.
A homo erectus made it
Some ancestor of mine, three species ago, made a tool that fits my hand perfectly, and that I still know how to use.
Who were you
A man? A woman? Did you even use those words?
Did you craft alone or were you with friends? Did you sing while you worked?
Did you find this stone yourself, or did you trade for it? Was it a gift?
Did you make it for yourself, or someone else, or does the distinction of personal property not really apply here?
Who were you?
What would you think today, seeing your descendant hold your tool and sob because it fits her hands as well?
What about your other descendant, the docent and caretaker of your tool, holding her hands under it the way you hold your hands under your baby's head when a stranger holds them.
Is it bizarre to you, that your most utilitarian object is now revered as holy?
Or has it always been divine?
Or is the divine in how I am watching videos on how to knap stone made by your other descendants, learning by example the way you did?
Tomorrow morning I am going to the local riverbed in search of the appropriate stones, and I will follow your example.
The first blood spilled on it will almost certainly be my own, as I learn the textures and rhythm of how it's done.
Did you have cuss words back then? Gods to blaspheme when the rock slips and you almost take your thumbnail off instead? Or did you just scream?
I'm not religious.
But if spilling my own blood to connect with a stranger who shared it isn't partaking in the divine
I don't know what is.

The Garden of Earthly Delights (1490-1500)
In the seventh episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, we see The Garden of Earthly Delights; a piece by Hieronymus Bosch with themes such as the fate of humanity and sin.
The panels depict the Garden of Eden, the Human World, and Hell (from left to right). We can see Sally Jackson reaching for the centre — the Human World — and her son, who is standing in front of Hell.

To add to this: the elven oracle has committed patricide, the archdevil has made people's love lives more complicated via disguise self, the cleric has punched the god who personally chose her in the face, the little goblin guy landed the killing blow on the dragon who ate his father, the Troy Bolton guy is the most graceless and unluckiest guy who is also responsible for the death of several of his pirate archdevil father's warlocks, and the greatest wizard of our age has also made a tower to connect to his parents' satellite from scratch.
the power disparity between the bad kids really is something. You got the elven oracle, an archdevil, someone who’s made two and a half gods, a little goblin guy, Troy Bolton, and the greatest wizard of our age.

Imagine being a black woman in the 70s going to school to get a doctorate in nuclear science and putting up with all the bullshit that a black woman would go through in 70s academia, getting your doctorate and working with the military, probably constantly dealing with big brash soldier men who dont respect you and always talk over you despite your education qualifications, craving peace and quiet out in this beautiful wilderness, striking out on your own for just a brief moment, and the first sign of anything unusual happening is a fucking elongated rat STOAT running up to you and being like
HEY GIRL HEYY

HC that whenever Amangeaux and Colin inevitably run into each other post-epilogue (probably somewhat often considering the paths they take), Amangeaux always tries to set him up with someone and meddle in his (nonexistent) love life and ofc Colin hates it
Colin: Please. Please stop. I’m just trying to get my vengeance
Amangeaux, a deadly spymaster who doesn’t currently have anywhere else to put any of her caretaking instincts: Oh but I just want you to be Happy!!!!
