            it’s  been  another  long  and  EXHAUSTING  day  for  saint  at  school  ,  but  he  had  to  make  a  quick  stop  at  the  grocery  store  to  make  himself  some  dinner  .  he’s  in  the  middle  of  debating  which  breach  to  buy  ,  and  he’s  WEIRDLY  stressed  out  about  his  pick  .  ‘  do  i  get  wheat  or  white  ?  i love  both  but  i  can  only  eat  so  much  bread  ,    ’  he  pouts  .  ‘  maybe  ezekiel  bread  ?  but  what’s  the  difference  ?  ’  saint  turns  to  the  person  next  to  him  .  ‘  what  would  you  get  ?  ’

            FLASHBACK  ,  SUMMER  ─  growing  up  in  the  south  ,  saint  was  used  to  BLISTERING  hot  summers  .  he  was  used  to  being  drenched  in  sweat  although  he  was  only  making  small  errand  trips  ,  but  this  summer  in  new  york  was  enough  to  make  him  NEVER  want  to  go  outside  again  .  he  originally  had  plans  of  taking  natasha  to  get  frozen  yogurt  at  peachwave  ,  but  the  weather  pushed  them  back  inside  .  the  duo  somehow  managed  to  crash  on  the  couch  in  saint’s  living  room  ,  and  took  a  much  needed  cool  down  nap  .  he  shifts  carefully  in  an  attempt  to  not  jostle  natasha  too  much  .  ‘  nat  ,  wake  up  ,  ’  saint  whines  jokingly  .  ‘  i’m  hungry  ,  let’s  get  korean  tacos  .  ’

𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐎 :  𝒋𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒔  .

𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓  :  can  i  bother  you  by  coming  over  ? 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓  :  i’m  working  on  a  new  vlog  but  i  wanna  go  get  food  ,  but  i  don’t  want  to  go  by  myself  because  i’m  a  child  🥺 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓  :  will  you  pretty  please  come  with  me  ?  we  can  do  ANYTHING  you  want  after  !

            saint  was  deathly  allergic  to  stepping  foot  into  a  gym  .  alright  ,  maybe  that  was  a  little  DRAMATIC  ,  but  he  absolutely  hated  going  .  how  he  managed  to  get  himself  wrapped  up  in  going  with  dom  he’ll  never  know  ,  but  he’s  a  supportive  friend  so  he’ll  show  up  even  if  he  is  ten  minutes  late  with  a  half  finished  smoothie  in  one  hand  and  his  vlogging  camera  in  the  other  .  he’s  talking  about  absolutely  NOTHING  other  than  how  tired  he  is  from  his  course  load  this  semester  ,  but  that’s  about  it  .  he  walks  further  into  the  gym  in  search  of  dom  ,  and  he  perches  himself  on  the  weight  bench  once  he  does  .  ‘  tell  me  you’re  almost  done  ,  ’  he  whines  immediately  .  ‘  being  in  here  is  starting  to  give  me  hives  .  ’

kingsilas​:

“no, no, it’s like… a prank. there’s a website you can order them from, and you send them to people you don’t like. that way, when they open the box, glitter just explodes out and makes a mess everywhere. it’s spring loaded…. or something.” there was a chance silas was speaking from experience, but he preferred to not revisit the memories that were the weeks he’d continued to find tiny flecks of glitter on his skin. from that point on, he’d made a promise to himself to never again open packages in the nude. in his defense, however, the note he’d received with the box had instructed him to do so, and who was he to deny the wishes of a handwritten letter? 

after spending way too much time lost in his thoughts, silas blinked, and remembered that he’d been having a conversation.  “there’s no rule against that. you sending me packages. if that was something you wanted to do… you’re technically allowed to, you know. i just… hope it wouldn’t be used for evil.” he wasn’t so sure that was a request he deserved to make, after the way things had ended between them. “it’d probably be smarter to just save the postage and bring it up to my place, though. you still have a key to my elevator, don’t you?”

            saint  nods  .  ‘  i  don’t  think  i’ve  ever  experienced  one  of  those  ,  and  i  don’t  think  i  want  to  ,  ’  he  laughs  softly  .  saint  has  ENOUGH  experience  working  with  glitter  thanks  to  his  chosen  college  major  ,  and he  doesn’t  want  to  deal  with  it  anymore  than  he  does  .  their  conversation  fades  and  so  does  saint’s  small  smile  ,  so  he  turns  back  to  the  mail  in  his  hands  as  if  it  had  sudden  become  interesting  .  saint  wished  that  this  TINY  interaction didn’t  tug  on  his  heart  strings  the  way  that  it  did  ,  so  he  hopes  that  he  can  force  down  the  feeling  before  he  faces  silas  again  .  saint  sinks  his  teeth  into  his  lower  lip  and  decides  that  lingering  around  will  get  him  nowhere  ,  so  he  locks  the  mailbox  with  the  intent  of  leaving  .

            he  stops  his  movements  when  silas  speaks  to  him  again  .  ‘  you’re  saying  that  it  WOULDN’T  be  weird  to  get  a  random  package  from  your  ex - boyfriend  ?  ’  saint  asks  incredulously  ,  brushing  his  hand  out  of  his  eyes  .  he  looks  down  at  his  hands  when  he  feels  his  cheeks  becoming  unexpectedly  warm  ,  but  a  shiver  runs  down  his  spine  at  silas’s  next  question  .  saint  hadn’t  thought  about  that  key  since  he  angrily  shoved  it  into  a  box  and  placed  it  at  the  top  of  his  closet  ,  but  hearing  silas  speak  about  it  again  makes  him  grip  his  mail  a  bit  tighter  .  ‘  um  ,  yeah  .  i  do  .  i  just  ,  ’  he  pauses  and  searches  for  the  RIGHT  words  .  ‘  i  didn’t  think  it  would  be  right  for  me  to  use  it  anymore  .  i  can  return  it  to  you  if  you’d  like  .  ’

mumbling a small ‘thanks’ in saint’s direction, silas quickly slipped through the doorway to avoid any awkward lingering in each other’s personal space. “uh…” was that a trick question? silas was so puzzled by what saint asked him, that it took him a couple attempts at opening his mailbox, before he realized he was standing in front of the wrong one. he took a step to the left and finally got his own unlocked, pulling out a small box with a shrug. “yeah, looks like it. wait, why? did you send me like… one of those glitter bombs or something?” 

            if  saint  could  get  away  with  slapping  himself  on  the  forehead  without  looking  STUPID  ,  he  definitely  would  .  he’d  like  to  think  that  he’s  smart  ,  but  he  wasn’t  thinking  when  he  opened  his  mouth  .  saint  quickly  pulls  the  package  from  his  mailbox  ,  tucking  it  under  his  arm  and  pouting  when  he  pulls  out  the  stack  of  bills  in  it  as  well  .  ‘  glitter  bombs  ?  ’  he  mumbles  under  his  breath  ,  but  his  face  lights  up  as  he  turns  around  .  ‘  are  you  talking  about  BATH  bombs  ?  and  no  ,  i  haven’t  sent  you  anything  .  i  don’t  have  those  privileges  anymore  ,  i  don’t  think  .  ’

“yo, hold the door!” the words were out of his mouth before he realized who was heading into the mail room, and silas immediately wished he’d just stepped back outside and waited a few minutes before collecting his packages in an ex-free environment. shit. other than an incredibly awkward, silent interaction in which saint had collected the few belongings he’d left at silas’s place, they’d been pretty successful in avoiding each other since the break up. well, there was no going back now. “uh… hold the door. please.” he tried again, wondering if tossing in some manners would help somehow make things a little less tense. it didn’t seem likely, but… it couldn’t make things worse, could it?  @saintfms​

            saint  was  over  the  moon  ,  and  he  had  been  since  he  got  the  notification  that  his  package  was  delivered  .  he  had  been  waiting  on  the  item’s  arrival  since  it  had  been  backordered  ,  and  he  couldn’t  WAIT  to  rip  the  box  open  once  he  was  back  in  his  apartment  .  his  smile  is  almost  immediately  wiped  when  he  hears  silas’s  voice  ,  a  frown  taking  over  his  features  ,  and  unwanted  thoughts  taking  over  his  mind  .  he  was  in  no  mood  to  potentially  have  another  argument  on  his  hands  ,  but  he’s  not  an  asshole  so  he  holds  the  door  .  saint  nods  in  acknowledgment  before  moving  to  the  mailbox  that  belonged  to  him  .  ‘  um  ,  ’  he  hums  while  slowly  sinking  his  key  into  the  lock  .  ‘  did  you  get  mail  ,  too  ?  ’  what  the --  how  did  the  dumbest  thing  EVER  manage  to  come  out  of  his  mouth  ?
