I think I’ll definitely be getting back to that world at some point, possibly around next year! Despite the disaster that was the show itself, I’m really proud of the world I created there, and there’s plenty more that can be explored! I don’t know if I would do a full-out sequel, since the story’s kind of been told and I’m not sure where a continuation would go, but I’d love to sort of go back and fill in the gaps as to some of the things that we didn’t get to see because it was told from Alex’s perspective. I’ve tossed around the idea of going back and figuring out what our beloved Karamel babies were doing the whole time, since we didn’t get to see nearly as much of them as I would have liked.

I will say it probably won’t be this year, because I’m in the middle of the applying-to-colleges process right now and that is a very time-consuming beast, but next year when things in my real life settle down, I definitely wouldn’t mind getting back to it!

Hey there! I just started reading If No Evil Power Be Nigh and I'm loving it, especially the karamel :-) There is something I'm curious about, if you don't mind. What caused your decision to make Alex the protagonist? Do you just really like her character, or did you feel like it fit the story best, or...? Just to be clear I have no issues with the fic or POV whatsoever, I'd just like to know more about it :)

Hey nonnie! I am so sorry for the extremely belated answer to this ask, I haven’t been on Tumblr since finishing the fic and I didn’t even notice I’d gotten an ask, since it’s been so long since I’ve been around!

To (finally) answer your question, I picked Alex for two reasons: one, the story I had in mind really wouldn’t have worked with anyone else as the viewpoint character, and two, Alex’s arc is one of the only ones in the entire show that I felt was at least somewhat bearable (by which I mean she actually HAD a consistent arc, which was not a luxury granted to many of the other characters). While I do like her character, and my version of her is still one of the things I’m most proud of about the story, my initial choice for her as the protagonist was mostly just based on what made sense for the story, and because she had more of a plot in the show than anybody else did, she was easier to work with.

Well, Karamel family, here we are at last. The fortieth and final chapter, and I really can’t believe we’re here. I promised myself I wouldn’t get all mushy, but I seriously can’t tell you how much all the support for this fic has meant to me. It’s felt so good to be back in the fandom again, and writing whatever I want to write no matter who says what about it. It’s not only been cathartic, but it’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had, and I hoped this story helped to make all of your days a little bit brighter. I’ll be taking a break from writing just for the next month or two, in order to focus on some big changes in my personal life, but I’ll definitely be back with more for our two favorite space aliens in love. Until then, I hope you all enjoy this last installment!

Chapter 39! Here we are at the penultimate chapter, folks, and it is literally my favorite chapter in the entire story. It just so happens to include a lot of the things I’ve been promising and you’ve been waiting patiently for, so I hope you enjoy reading!

Chapter 38! Only two chapters left after this. I honestly can’t believe we’re so close to the end; I wrote the final words of this story this week, which was such a strange feeling. I hope you guys enjoy reading the homestretch as much as I have writing it!

Hi anon! Actually, yeah, I am kinda obsessed with it, I’ve been having the time of my life here. Lena makes a deliciously hateable villain and it’s fun to write her that way, I really like it. Chapter 34, folks! I know I’ve had a lot of people waiting for this one, to get a look at what’s been going on with our beloved Karamel babies, so I’m very pleased to finally be getting to it! (Even if their situation is not exactly…ideal…)

Chapter 33, ladies and gents! And the hardest part of this chapter was waiting to share it. I actually rewrote it twice, and I’m SO proud of how it turned out. I’m finally making good on a lot of my promises for this story, and it was an absolute pleasure to get to it after so long. In short, this chapter was wonderfully cathartic and I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing.

Proudly presenting Chapter 32! This is another one I’ve been waiting to get to for awhile now, especially since it ushers us right into the endgame. I don’t have much to say on this one (although I am pleased to report all quiet on the pterodactyl front), but it should be a bit less painful of a read than last week’s chapter, so I hope you like it!

Chapter 31, lovely readers! I’ve been foreshadowing this part for soooo long and I’m so glad to finally be sharing it. There’s nothing like the feeling when a plot twist comes together. This is also the first of this story’s final ten chapters, so it’s doubly exciting!

Also, my Thursday night was basically “Jurassic Tumblr II: Angry Pterodactyl Returns.” But the good news is, it’s the same Perpetrator of Enraged Ranting that it was last time, which means that I can now conclude that most SCs have indeed stopped reading this thing by now and this person just hasn’t quite gotten with the program. Which means no more warnings before chapters! I can just post with wild abandon, as long as I’m braced for the occasional pterodactyl screech.

Here’s Chapter 30, everyone! Just as a side note, that warning I gave a while back, about characters making choices they wouldn’t make in canon, is in full effect from now pretty much up until the end of this thing. Consider it creative license because canon sucked. The characters will still be recognizable as themselves, I’m not going haywire and writing a bunch of OCs, but if it bugs you, I will completely understand if you choose to stop reading!

(and honestly, if it bugs you, please do stop reading. I spent maybe forty minutes last week dealing with an SC who found some of my old posts and proceeded to fill my replies with the verbal equivalent of angry pterodactyl screeches, and I would REALLY not like to go through that again. So yeah, if there’s anything on this blog or in this fic that isn’t your cup of tea, please just make a graceful exit. I promise, I don’t mind).

Chapter 29! This one kicks off one of my favorite mini-plots and also leads toward the fulfillment of a lot of things I’ve been promising for a few of the characters, so I hope y’all enjoy!
