What are some struggles the papas go through in their day to day life? Not the obvious ones like how primo has joint pains, Secondo’s anger, Terzo’s depression, and Copia’s overly the top anxiety. What’s something else you think they struggle with but people don’t really know about?
I’ve been sitting on this because I wanna think more about it but the more I sit on it I’m afraid of forgetting it lol
Primo I think suffers from the Elder Sibling Syndrome where he has the tendency to take care of everyone and keeping feelings to himself. I also like to think when he gets older he starts to suffer from dementia.
Secondo aside from the classic depression as well I think he might be an alcoholic , where his anger issues are affected. He’s also an avid smoker as well
Terzo , body issues I’m assuming. He is shorter than the other two which bothers him. His reckless sex life could only lean him in trouble one day. I have a feeling at one point he just couldn’t get it “up” anymore that leads him to asking his ghouls to use him however they like to, just so that he can feel something.
Copia, I think he’s a lonely man. He’s often alone when he’s not on tour. He wants to connect to others too but his anxiety made him not. Feelings can be hard for him to speak out. Maybe he has problem with intimacy too. He craves affection and touch but sometimes squirms away even from just a pat on the shoulder

We are having Jazz Au thoughts today
let's settle with some timeline, for everyone's sanity lol
this one is discussed with @lilspacewolfie as well!
in this weird universe every jazz club would have their own painted singers. so whoever's walking around with a painted face they must be a renowned club owner or singers. the musicians are all masked to their own style of mask/club. the more elaborate their masks and face paint, the more popular / expensive / important they are. The setting is around 70s-80s era ( i mix them up anyway, you can fit them in whichever era that you like be in 20s-30s or so, im basing mine from noir films possibly )
Copia for the sake of this story being linear is a MtF.
The main Plot : Terzo falling in love with Secondo's new singer. Secondo is wary, thinking that Terzo is going to swoop Copia away from his club only to find out Copia was reciprocating Terzo's feelings.
Copia is taller than Terzo, about a foot or so. Terzo's head rests perfectly around Copia's booba's height ( this is important because i say so)
here comes a series of What Ifs : i like this one because you can literally just choose which one you vibe to.
Secondo met Copia while he was walking behind a diner, he heard Copia sang and he looked for who the owner of that voice could be? fastforwardd he found out its Copia who's washing the dishes at the back of some restaurant/diner what have you. He offered Copia a job, a new and better job thatwouldl pay much better. Copia also told him about her situation, to which Secondo helps her by hooking her up with a surgeon that agrees to gave her top surgeries and other gender conforming surgeries. ''I'll make a star out of you.'' and he really did. Over time Secondo grows affectionate of her, and Copia enjoys his soft gestures of love because he makes her feel like a woman. - Which leads to currently where Terzo comes to the picture.
2. Terzo knows Copia before the transition takes place. The two of them had been together for a long time. After a while Terzo introduces Copia to Secondo. ''Brother didnt you said you wanted a singer?'' he said. ''I want a woman'' Secondo bantered back. ''She is'' Terzo replied. - This brings back to the part where Secondo sponsors Copia with the surgeries. This part of the story shows Terzo taking care of Copia, him watching Copia going through all the changes, being supportive of her and they ended up where they are now.
Copia works in Secondo's club as their inhouse singer together with the band.
But what you said, didn't Copia had a baby? as per an anon asking about it?
The baby's name is Dante ( Dante evolved from Plushia from another AU) but yes anons calls the baby Plushia. also i just imagine the baby is just soft and cute so Copia nicknames his Plushia.
lets go through where did the baby comes from first:
1. The baby was from a previous marriage. Copia was wed with someone else and after telling the wife that he is trans, they are divorced and Copia gets the baby (surprisingly, he was sure he couldnt get it but fate favours him)
2. The baby was from his late sister who might have died , so he decided to take the baby as his own.
Does Secondo / Terzo knows about the baby?
Secondo : Going with the first What If , Secondo getting to know Copia more will learn about the baby. He sometimes does came over to take care of the baby as well (copia being surprised how good he is with babies). The moment Secondo learns that his brother is taking interest with Copia, he intentionally brings up the fact that Copia has a son just to see his reaction. Would he be serious about Copia? or was it just a fling? He's glad that Terzo decided to take it seriously.
Terzo :
Terzo taking care of the baby since before the transition as if it was their own after all.
Terzo learning about the baby after he came home with Copia one night. He is surprised but he ends up growing fond of the child. He would try to help Copia as much as he can with the baby, as if they've been living together.
Lets talk about the Ghouls a bit
The ghouls has no elemental powers in this au, however theyre not exactly human either. They are definitely creatures from a different place that shares the same space as the humans. Often known for their musical abilities and superhuman strengths, which makes them useful and handy.
Each club has their own set of ghouls that either stayed or come and go. Most of the time they do stayed to one club/premises. They wore masks that they dont take off unless by the owners of the place, their boss basically.
oh there are ghouls fight clubs btw, Ghoul Fights are often done in the basement of the clubs (diff clubs each week or so). These are just places where people come to bet on their fav ghoul to fight, also earning the club to earn some extra cash. The winning ghouls also gets a bit of their share as well.
Ghouls are mostly active when the sun sets and will rest when the sun rises. You dont see them in the morning. Nobody really knows where they rest/live.

this comment on that vulture article about the "fanfic-to-romance novel pipeline" is very interesting and not something i've seen articulated...much to think about...
#uhm thats why its a fanfic?#it can be as elaborate as you want ( worldbuilding everything from scratch)#or as simple as you want just to convey 1-2 scenes that you want to focus on#its not a book its a Fan Fiction#are there fanfictions that are as extensive as a book? sure there is#but a book being a fanfic doesnt have the same flavour and taste tho

I keep imaging Secondo trying to stay cool and collected while Copia gives birth but mentally he is doing the panicked jumpy dance that Sims 2 sims do whenever they're witnessing a baby being born (or also y'know... A fire breaks out )
He stays cool for the first half minute and then just loses it
