it was late. she hadnât even bothered to look at the clock before climbing into her car. rowan was the type of friend who would answer someoneâs call regardless of what was going on with her, which was why she had pulled into the parking lot of the county jail, but not before running to the atm to get the money to bail her dear, sweet, rose out of jail. it had always been something they joked about, but normally, they were together in the scenario -- two pretty girls giggling at each other in a holding cell while someone was on their way to get them out. never did rowan think that sheâd be sauntering up to the doors by herself. she opened them and took a few steps inside, before filing paperwork with the man at the front desk. ârosemarie harmon, you say?â rowan confirmed with a nod. the officer opened one of the holding cells not too far away. âharmon? some girl posted bail. youâre free for now,â he nodded towards rowan at the end of the hall, who wiggled her fingers in a wave at rose. @rose-harmonâ

{ odeya rush â twenty-three â she/her } well, well, well if it isnât rowan foster running around peach hollow. legend has it, she comes from tangerine towers and has lived here her entire life. if youâre wondering what sheâs been up to, i hear sheâs a make up artist / freelance musician for a living. she has been known to be impulsive yet insightful. a word of advice to her, always look over your shoulder. you never know who is watching.
why yes, it is i, admin kim, with another character that shouldâve been kept in the drafts of my mind. if youâve not met daysia or serenity, hereâs a lil low down on me. iâm 26, i use she/her pronouns, and live on the east coast. i thrive on writing angst and my animal crossing villagers being happy. also caffeine. i luv chris klemens. most likely to have a mental breakdown on twitter. meet rowan! trigger warnings for mental illness, bipolar disorder specifically, and inpatient treatment
have a playlist and a pinterest board dedicated to her
rowan celeste foster was born may 27th, 1996. sheâs the oldest of two, a baby sister coming to the scene in 1999.
her family is extremely close. theyâve been in peach hollow their whole lives. she grew up in a crowded house on blueberry boulevard, crammed in with her mother, father, sister, maternal grandmother and maternal grandfather. rowan never knew peace or privacy growing up â it just wasnât possible with that many people which has really contributed to her somewhat isolated adulthood
her mother is a charge nurse at peach hollow general, working on the emergency room floor. her father is a retired car salesman. her grandparents moved into the house when her sister was born in order to help take care of the girls while their parents worked full time. rowan is especially grateful for their care, because she feels like sheâd be a little more sour had she been raised by absent parents.
growing up, she shared a room with her younger sister. they told each other everything because they had no choice not to. they both developed an interest in make up and music at very young ages, but rowan particularly took to those things while maci took more interest in sports. when rowan was gifted her first ukulele at age 6, maci got her first basketball. they are polar opposites, but maci was the only person rowan really confided in as a child and an adolescent.
sheâd always been rather moody. tantrums and fits were nearly unavoidable. her self esteem lacked before she even had a chance to develop any confidence. she was always the try hard, the girl who stood out because she was just a little different, the emotional one, the one the other kids didnât want to mess with, not because sheâd fight back, but because she would absolutely lose it. there were countless times where rowan ended up in the guidance counselorâs office, waiting on her grandmother to show up and bring her home. that was the beginning of their problems.
her mental health really started to decline in her mid teenage years. she spent hours upon hours in her room, writing songs, playing guitar, practicing make up looks â sheâd go days without sleeping and snap at anyone who crossed her path. she got into screaming matches with everyone in the house, only to find herself crying in her bed for the next few days. she started missing days at a time from school, while her artistry thrive, the rest of her crumbled. her grades, all of it.
eventually, this resulted in her parents yanking her out of peach hollow high and putting her in counseling, which lead her to a psychiatrist and a diagnosis of bipolar disorder at the age of 17. while it made sense, she dreaded taking the medications. they numbed everything. her writing suffered, and while her moods werenât swinging from the trees anymore, she feared that this empty feeling was worse.
she finished her high school diploma in homeschooling with her grandmother while maci went on to thrive in school. the attention shifted to her, and rowan couldnât really blame them. she turned 18 and started performing in clubs, bars, and anywhere she could get in. ps her voice is a mix of bishop briggs & mary lambert. the thrill of performing to small crowds sucked her in. she began to gain an even smaller following on social media, mainly the locals following her. every once in a while sheâll book a show in atlanta and sheâll make the long drive just to sing in front of a bit of a larger crowd. sheâll gain a few followers from those shows, but this still isnât her main source of income.
most of her money comes from the make up artistry she does through pop of peach. she doesnât go in every day, but when someone has an event scheduled or needs their make up done for a dance or something, sheâs there. she tries to spread things out bc sheâs always late lmao and finds it hard to stick to a schedule
she was doing so well for a few years, even moved out of her parentsâ house and into an apartment at the towers. thatâs where she really found herself, made some real friends and built relationships that were good for her. however, she missed a few doctorâs appointments and was discharged from her psychiatristâs office. she went off meds, and for a few weeks it was fine. when she ran out of meds, the next few weeks were okay as well. it was when every single drop of medication had drained from her body that things got bad.
rowan was missing appointments she scheduled at pop of peach. she was spending far too much time out at nights, giving in to alcohol for the most part. she tried not to touch any drugs, but drinking became a nightly thing. sheâd perform, then spend the rest of the night partying with whoever she could find at the venue.
one night in atlanta after a particularly shaky performance, rowan found herself in a dark place and simply went into the womenâs bathroom to calm down, but police say they found her laying flat on the ground, refusing to respond to anyone. she vaguely remembers the end of the manic episode, but it did land her in the emergency room for a change in mental status.
much to her chagrin, they admitted her overnight before transporting her to skyland trail, a mental health facility in atlanta. she spend about two and a half months there getting medications regulated and learning new coping mechanisms. she was discharged about two weeks ago and finally made it back to peach hollow and her apartment.
sheâd lead everyone other than her family and maybe one or two other people that she was away on a musicianâs retreat, but really, was in inpatient treatment.
sheâs currently working full time as a make up artist at pop of peach and performing when she can, but doesnât really go outside of peach hollow
fun facts & personality
rowan despises small talk. conversations about the weather or political climate donât stimulate her and she gets snarky pretty easily. it isnât that she wants to come off rude or unapproachable, but nine times out of ten, small talk is fake and she feels as though she doesnât have the time or energy to indulge in it. ask her about the sky or some shit. she wonât shut up
she has a tendency to overshare, Â aside from whatâs been going on in the past few months. her lips are sealed tight about that. however, sheâs open to talking about her mental health and is a big advocate for erasing the stigma. this makes rowan a very good listener and a huge supportive presence for anyone struggling. sheâs the mom friend, and no matter what time of day or night, if someone says they need an ear, sheâll go to them. she knows what itâs like to be alone.
despite her past and her demons, rowan finds a way to put on a smile. it might often be snarky or sarcastic, but rarely is it insincere. sheâs an empath and feels everything so very deeply, but can easily put it away when necessarily.
her apartment is her safe haven. she rarely has company. it isnât really her thing. she prefers to go to other peopleâs places. she has her record collection proudly displayed on her living room wall, all the plants you can imagine, incense burning whenever sheâs home, and a scottish fold munchkin cat named loonette after her favorite childhood tv show, the big comfy couch. she has hopes to get another cat named molly to match. you know, because weâre all clowns !
she takes great pride in her instagram. it sounds superficial, but often times, rowan will post a good picture and then link to her next show in hopes that somebody will come based on that. while she does have a passion for make up and a second instagram for it, ultimately, sheâd like for there to come a time where she can live solely on the money she makes through music

dylan knew he couldnât lie to rowan. he never had been able to. hey, hey, whatâs going on? he blinked and continued to stare at the lights in front of him. his sank his teeth into his bottom lip and shook his head, before moving his hand to his nose. â i might not be able to play again, â he answered and shrugged, before turning his head to look at rowan. â i need surgery and the doctor said he didnât know if theyâd be able to fix the damage done to it, â he explained and shrugged, a weak smile on his lips. i didnât date you for years to tell you that you look ugly, plus i said you look good, not sound good. â right. yeah, â he said and watched as she reached into her bag, digging around in it for a few seconds. when rowan asked if it was physical or mental pain that kept him awake the most, he realized he didnât really know what it was out of the two. â both, i guess, â dylan spoke and cleared his throat when she passed the pipe to him. dylan grabbed it looked at her as she asked him to do the honors. a soft chuckle fell from his mouth and he did it, letting it get into his system. letting his eyes close, dylan felt himself relax a little and his shoulders fall as he held the pipe out for rowan to take. â so, yeah, my life fuckinâ sucks right now. âÂ
âthatâs a might. thatâs not a one hundred percent, absolutely, beyond a reasonable doubt that you wonât be able to play again. if i still know you how i once knew you, youâll find a way around it if that does become the case. youâll pick up a new instrument, amaze the world with your talent and become a viral sensation,â rowan placed a shaky hand on dylanâs shoulder, the side with his good hand, and squeezed reassuringly, unsure if the touch would be unwelcome or not. as dylan stated that his life sucked, she nodded her head up and down. âdyl, what you went through -- that wasnât normal. you went through something fuckinâ traumatic, and itâs more than okay to be a little uneasy about shit. i donât know that iâd be alive if i went through the same thing,â she rubbed his back softly before letting her hand fall, rather reluctantly. âyou are so strong for sticking through it. yeah, life sucks right now, but youâre going to come out on top. nothing else will ever scare you again, you know? plus, once you get that cast off, you can tell everyone you survived the peacher,â she tried to laugh, but then looked at dylan, brows raised in curiosity. âby the way... what the fuck is a peacher? iâve um, kind of been out of town for the past three-ish months? so i donât know what it is, or what itâs doing, if itâs a person, an entity... shed some light on it, if you donât mind,â she lit the end of the pipe and inhaled deeply, before setting it down beside her.

â nope, but break a leg. â jason may be able to sing, but he was one of those people who didnât put it on display. it always made him laugh when someone decided to mention it, though. â youâll be fine. i think mâdad told me to imagine the audience in their underwear at one point. was kind of odd. â he had done his share of performing things, but never for a crowd this big. now when he shared something, he could usually do it over some sort of zoom conference and call it a day without having to see anyone other than a select few.
âthatâs always been really strange to me too. itâs a common piece of advice,â she rolled her eyes and gave a chuckle. âpersonally, if i was imagining even just one person in their underwear iâd probably feel awkward and screw up whatever i was singing,â rowan nodded her head in agreement. âi used to be a regular here, but i took an extended vacation and this is the first time iâve been back in a few months. iâm sure once i get up there itâll be fine, but the thought of it is unnerving.âÂ

â no. things havenât changed. â turning his head away from rowan, dylan swallowed against the lump in his throat as it continued to grow and make it more difficult to breathe properly. you look good. a chuckle fell from his lips and he turned his head to look at rowan. â i look good? â he asked, honestly a little surprised that she thought so. do you have anything for pain? â i have some painkillers from the doctor, but itâs not really working, â he spoke, his right hand moved to rub against the left one. a eyebrow raised and he looked at her. â iâll try anything at this point. i havenât slept a full night since the attack. â the words fell from his lips so quickly, that he couldnât stop them.Â
âhey, hey, whatâs going on?â she asked, noticing his distress. spending so much time together had given her a sort of sixth sense when it came to dylan, or so she felt. rowan turned to face him, pulling one of her legs up and leaning on it. she flashed the blonde a grin. âi didnât date you for years to tell you that you look ugly, plus i said you look good, not sound good,â rowan reached into her cross body bag and dug around, finding a tiny bag with some green in it and a one hitter pipe. âi can understand why you wouldnât be able to,â she stated, starting to pack the small glass object. âis it physical pain or mental pain keeping you awake the most?â she inquired, brows raised. she passed the pipe to dylan and retrieved a lighter from her pocket. âyou do the honors?â

the peach pit was her second home. rowan had known it to be a place where she could leave her soul on the makeshift stage every night and the locals would either live for it or completely ignore it. either way, she felt like it was a safe space. however, sheâd not been on stage in quite some time. after her time away, she hadnât performed in front of people for almost four months now. rowan wasnât privy to stage fright, yet here she stood, staring at the spot sheâd be taking soon, in front of all of the seated guests. she turned to the person next to her, a nervous smile tugging at her lips. âhave you ever performed for open mic night?â rowan inquired, curious. âbecause iâm nervous as hell.â @peachesstartâ

when i saw you start climbing, i just⌠i needed to follow you to make sure you got here okay, and that no one else followed you. â i didnât plan on jumping, if you thought that, â he spoke and looked at her as she squatted down and perched herself next to him. he swallowed and kept his gaze on her as she said that she was tired and didnât plan on going back down and leaving him up there alone. staring at her for a good minute or so, dylan blinked and turned his gaze away to look at the lights and buildings in front of them instead. feeling her nudge him playfully, a weak smile appeared on dylanâs lips but it quickly disappeared. how are you, though? really? â iâm fine. â the words fell from his mouth a little too quickly and he realized it just as he turned to look at rowan again. â donât i look okay? â dylan questioned and his voice cracked as he shrugged his shoulders. â just, â he said, lifting his hand, â my hand hurts and i couldnât sleep, so i ended up here. â
"clearly," she chuckled. "you don't seem like the type, unless things have changed," rowan looked up and over to dylan as he broke his gaze on her and looked out to the city of peach hollow. "have things changed?" it was her way of trying to get him to say more. generally, she was blunt and would flat out ask if he felt like jumping, but they weren't kids anymore. they weren't dating and this wasn't high school. "you look good," she nodded. "i mean, physically, of course. i can't see inside that little noggin," rowan quipped, a curious smirk on her face. "do you have anything for pain? that isn't something some tylenol can fix. you need something good," she teased. "i could probably get us some green or somethin'. i don't know. might help you sleep and forget about your hand."

@rowanfosterâÂ
as he couldnât fall asleep, dylan decided to head to one of his favorite spots; a look-out point where you could basically see all of peach hollow. it was a bit of a ride, especially if you decide to use a skateboard. putting his skateboard on top of his backpack, he went up a small, slightly vegetated path, but once dylan got up to the look-out, the view, as always, took his breath away. breathing heavily, dylan looked at the lights in front of him and within seconds, he had his feet over the edge, dangling in the open air while his left hand rested in his lap and the other was tossing small stones forward and into nothingness. as dylan sat there, the male heard movements behind him and he furrowed his brows a little. ever since the incident at the campground, whenever he heard small movements behind him, he felt anxious and instantly alert. turning his head around, dylan looked towards where he had come from earlier and when he saw who it was, he was stunned, â rowan? â
âyeah, hey,â she said softly, gently. rowan was the type of person to keep an eye out for the underdog. it just so happened that in this situation, her ex, her first love, was the underdog. ever since the incident at the campgrounds, sheâd felt this urge to reach out to dylan. rowan felt that urge often, but even more so since she now had to worry about his safety. âwhen i saw you start climbing, i just... i needed to follow you to make sure you got here okay, and that no one else followed you,â she squatted down and perched herself next to him, her own feet dangling from the overhang. âbut now iâm tired and iâm not going back down there and leaving you up here alone, no matter how tough you think you are,â she nudged him playfully, a tiny smile tugging at the corners of her lips. âhow are you, though? really.â

âReally? I thought you that scowl was a squint. I could have sworn you were looking at a handsome man like me wondering how you were going to deflower me like a sight setting seductress.â Beckham swallowed as the girl grew near. He hadnât seen Rowan in months in seemed and as she inched closer, he wondered why he was ghosted all over again. But he didnât dwell on it long considering he was long over their brief affair or so it seemed. Ro hadnât owed him an explanation, even if she had one he wasnât sure he wanted to know. At her order, Beckham rose hesitantly to his feet. His actions read inconvenienced but his small grin read bashful. âYou know, you look like this girl I knew once. But, that girl thorough enjoyed disturbing the peace. So, you two are clearly not cut from the same cloth.â Beckham monotonously teased, his eyes low but raising up her body as he looked her up and down. He raised his hands between them, tugging his wrists outwardly in an attempt to break the material but also use the object for emphasis as he said, âPretty sure that girl would have been into this, too.â Beckham licked his lips before laughing softly. His explanation was ridiculous and Rowan was the last person he wanted to explain it to. âPissed off a couple boy scouts. Turns out when you tell them you donât want to buy their popcorn because it staler than grandma cooch, they band together and ziptie you. Though Iâm pretty sure that brotherhood was once about tying knots, it seems theyâve begun to cut corners. Just as effective but pretty lazy if you ask me.â
she had to admit, her tactic of pretending not to recognize beckham was poorly thought out. her other option was to tell him sheâd dipped on their rendezvous, turned her phone off, and didnât give him any notice -- all to go to a retreat for aspiring musicianâs. it was a good lie, but it didnât excuse her behavior. her real reason, however, made sense. rowan was unsure if she trusted beck enough to really tell him about that, though. he was the epitome of a fuck boy, and maybe he didnât believe in all of that mental illness shit. half the time, she wasnât certain she did either. âyou still know her. sheâs just a little calmer these days -- and also exhausted,â his smile triggered her own, bright and beaming. rowan followed his gaze as he looked her up and down, giving him the same once over. âwe both know that boy scouts did not zip tie you. itâs a cute story and well thought out given the amount of time you had to put it together, but untrue, nevertheless.. youâre not that stupid, beck,â she gave a hum of a laugh. ânow, tell me what actually happened while i try to think of where weâre going to get a machete to chop these off of your hands.â

The town wide game of manhunt when from fun to dark almost within the span of a couple minutes. What had started off as the usual fun game turned into one of horror, two people being injured and one being hurt. The news came as a shock to nearly everyone and Jillianâs eyes could only remain wide in disbelief. The Peacher. There was no doubt in her mind that would force her to believe otherwise and that alone was terrifying â knots tying in the middle of her stomach. â.. You guys sure you havenât seen Maggie around?â The blonde questioned toward the remaining people that seemed to stick around while chills forcing her to wrap her arms around herself. âHow can any of you be dumb enough to let her wander the woods alone?âÂ
the past few months, rowan hadnât been able to access her phone. being away for treatment took her phone from her, and without anyone paying the bill, the woman hadnât received word about all the nonsense going on. there had been someone spreading rumors around when she left, but this couldnât be the same mysterious figure. âhoney, i havenât been in town let alone paid attention to who was here -- no offense. i donât know her real well, so i havenât seen her, but --â rowan reached into her bag. after digging for a few seconds, she pulled out an industrial sized flashlight and flicked it on. âwe can go look, and while we do that, you can tell me what the fuck has been going on the past few months. what the fuck is a peacher?âÂ

Beckham knew this looked rather peculiar. As he knelt, attempting to free himself from the zip-tie handcuffs in the center of town, he quickly considered that this may have appeared odd to a passive bystander. Did it look like kinky exploration gone wrong? Did he look like he got busted by an amateur copper for simply jay walking? No matter how it looked, he was faced with the larger problem being he couldnât free himself unescorted. As his eyes met another bystander, he began facetiously clapping his tied hands. âI didnât realize someone could be more useless than me with my hands literally tied, but then I saw you staring at me and am now realizing Iâve hit the purposeless jackpot. The pot of gold at an the end of an unavailing rainbow.â Beck called out, no trace of joking in his voice though it held no malice. âWhat do you say? Are you going to help me or am I going to have dislocate my wrists and Houdini myself off?âÂ

rowan gave a tight lipped smile, approaching the male with careful steps. "do you also need your eyes checked? i glanced at you. don't flatter yourself. and who wouldn't at least look? you kind of resemble a sea lion fresh off the fuckin' boat headed for sea world," she hissed. thoughher words were spoken with all the venom of a rattlesnake, she kept a satirical grin on her features. "as entertaining as that would be, i don't think i want to be an accessory in disturbing the peace," she reached down to grab his arm, though she touched him gently. "does it look like i carry pliers around? get up," rowan instructed. this had to be the most bizarre situation she'd come across since she got back in town -- perhaps in her entire life. "care to share how you got yourself into this pickle?"
