Heyyy everyone! Finally dropping this new papercraft standee that I built during the 88k follower stream on my IG account @rosiethorns88! (Available to watch in my reels) Featuring Wendell and Emily from the Emily Wilde series by @heather_fawcett! I thought Wendell's obsession with mending clothes was completely hilarious and had to capture it in this standee. I completely adored the first book (Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries) and am excited to jump into Map of the Otherlands as soon as I get through a few others on my TBR. It's like choosing one out of a platter of your favorite desserts. If you're yearning for more after Elfhame and enjoy diving deep into Faerie folklore and all of the rules and tricks and mischief of the Folk with a dash of Howl & Sophie dynamic, you'll definitely want to pick this up! To the anonymous person who recently sent an ask about their grievances with the Unravel Me fanart, who is probably refreshing my feed by the hour waiting for me to respond. Why should I?

1. You submitting under anonymous means that you don't want to have a conversation, so your arguments are being thrown into the void without any care as to whether I should take them into consideration.

2. You've proven to me twice in the same question that you don't read (Unravel Me ch 62, nor the contents of my post), so why would you read my response?

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for February! Featuring Juliette and Warner during the 'Please don't shoot me for this' scene from Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi! Face-cradles are my favorite kissy pose (this is the fourth one now!), so color me tickled when I revisited this scene to find that was how exactly it was described for him to be holding her the moment of impact. 🫠 I've brought back the hatching that I've previously experimented with for my previous Gideon art (Griddle and Bone) and more recently in the LitJoy Grishaverse edges. It's a little more subtle in this one, but I like how it gives a colored pencil look! Back to work! 👋

This is one of the few examples of me putting in the WORK for the background, only because it's such a character itself. Il Bastone is a real world setting from Ninth House / Hell Bent, and even though they are scant, there were luckily a few interior photos available for me to reference to create the Virgil bedroom, where Alex and Darlington are having a tense conversation in this scene. I took some liberties on the design but a lot of the structures, accents and patterns were either pulled from the interiors or exterior facade of the Anderson Mansion. (especially the stained glass windows and painted tile fireplace!).

I spent a ridiculous amount of time on the painting over the fireplace to capture a small world-building segment from Hell Bent that I think has a modest symbolism of Alex's and Darlington's new relationship here. A fun little puzzle for those who want to try to research it!

I've had this series pre-ordered and in my hostage pile since the beginning because I KNEW I would love it, but I didn't want to hang off that dreaded cliff 😭. I originally thought it to be a duology, but then Wisteria was announced and I thought I could hang on longer. 🫠

Alas! My Patreon members pushed it up my TBR with this request and I devoured it! I knew it I knew it I knew it! I'm making my way through Foxglove now, and I'm eating this up like a dark raspberry cake on a gothic spoon.

Here it is! The final design for the @fairyloot edition of the OUABH trilogy! These are the reverse dust jacket and hard case foil designs for the FL A Curse for True Love by @stephanie_garber , and what a finale it is! Anissa (FL) and Stephanie requested a green, gold and pink scheme for this one and the entire set of jackets have such a great color scheme together as a result! As I did with the TBONA jacket, I utilized fairylights to illuminate the lanterns. There's just no replicating that warm, fuzzy glow in papercraft, and it adds a fantastic radiance to the piece. (Also, if you told me 6 years ago I'd be making a tasteful strip-tease of one of my favourite characters in papercraft, I would have choked on my drink.) Meanwhile, we had an absolute blast with the hard case foil design! Stephanie's direction with the changing titles (referencing the changing stories in the Magnificent North) was definitely on display here! Evangeline is on both sides, but the front references Apollo while the back references Jacks! TBONA/ACFTL SPOILERS BELOW: // To emphasize these changes, Evangeline stands under a shower of stars in a too-good-to-be-true dream-like state. On the back, she stands under a shower of arrows, tears streaming, cause chasing true love can sometimes hurt! As if this wasn't a great concept already, but execution of the reveal? If you'll recall, a copy of the FL edition was accidentally shipped with standard editions a scant few weeks before the ACFTL release. A person bought it and posted a few spoilers, including both sides of the foil design. Except some people were only sharing the Apollo side (and rightly raging at the injustice of such a title!), and a few others sharing the Jacks side. The titles kept changing, no one knew the truth and everything was chaos, just like in the Magnificent North! It was great. 🤣🤭 // END SPOILERS Super fun time with both of these! And bittersweet now that the trilogy is ended! Thank you again to @fairyloot, Anissa and Stephanie for the opportunity to work on these! And to have the pieces stand by the GORGEOUS endpaper artworks by @aleikats for each book, these editions are truly special!

Featuring Lila and Kell from A Darker Shade of Magic by @veschwab ! This was probably the funniest scene in the book and I've been wanting to illustrate it for the longest time. It was actually the runner-up scene for the @Illumicrate ADSOM mug, way back when!

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for September! A scene from Divine Rivals by @beccajross, this was an illustration that was heavily focus on the emotions (my favorite!). Roman just breaking down as Iris approached him in this scene was my breaking point. 😭

I think I've now illustrated/papercraft every corner of this scene now. But it's such a great contrast to Night-Glimmer (shown side-by-side on the last slide). In Night-Glimmer, we're in Evangeline's perspective as Jacks carries her to a warm and safe tree-house. But turn the camera around, and from Jacks's POV, we see a dark void behind him, surrounded by the snow-tipped pine trees, a trapped feeling, stars hanging out of reach. It's still touches on the magical aspects of this scene, but frames a very different perspective! This piece is officially licensed and available in both shops (link in bio!)

Aaaaand (after a small delay) the fourth and final bonus Sketch-a-Wish from my 2nd Patreon anniversary - a frequently requested scene from Uprooted, featuring Sarkan (the Dragon) and Agnieszka! Phew, I'm art-pooped after this one. 🫠

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreons for July! Fourth Wing (by @rebeccayarros) making a quick reappearance as we reset our author list for Sketch-a-Wish! This time featuring a sparring scene between Violet and Xaden as the former snatches daggers away from the latter. This was such an odd perspective angle to tackle, I was chastising Past-Rosie for considering this a good idea throughout the entire process. But we got to the end! This piece is licensed and available as a print preorder in my shop via my bio link. ✨🧡

These were some sketches I made for the hidden fore-edge paintings I made a while back (see IG reels). I had several people ask to add this to my print pool, so I made a task to clean it up a bit. I always felt The Locked Tomb series was more Cyberpunk-ish in story tone, even though it's presented as gritty-dark, and so carried that here. 😎 Due to the medium it was intended for, it was pretty comic-bookish in style already, so I had some fun with hatching to give some texture (which was another great therapy distraction.)

Continuing my art dump, here is the next therapy illustration. Cassian has been goof-balling his way through my appointments and medication wait times for the past several months, and this past weekend he ended his shift. Definitely cheered my spirits doing this illustration, a companion to Rhys' Invisible Lint illustration from last year (also a therapy illustration while I was dodging hurricanes!) He's already licensed and up for pre-order in my main shop. (Will be added to Etsy after September 10)
