i need to stop trying to be friendly and honest with my MIL. hopeless endeavor. in her current state of mind, she turns everything into a disagreement, then an avenue for poorly-veiled criticism. she's exhausting.
#realizing that it's not the tragedy that suddenly turned her into a black hole#but she's always been this way#she just used her late husband as her emotional punching bag#and now that hes passed away she is helpless to fight her worst impulses#and does it to everyone#but what can i do? what is the best way for me to behave? since that is all i can control#yesterday she got annoyed that i was wearing a dress instead of jeans#it's almost like she takes it as a criticism against herself since she was wearing jeans that day?#idk dude idk can't wait for this period of life to be over and we're moved back into our home#even if she will be looming over us in her newly built house#i know she is lonely but she will make life lonelier for herself if she can't find a healthier way to deal with negative emotions
