Would you ever consider reviewing a manuscript?
This would be a really cool opportunity, but I simply don't have the time or expertise to do the job well lol
Maybe one day, in the far future though!

The feminine urge to daydream about being in a gothic castle in a fantastical land, wearing a ballgown and dancing with your enemy, when in reality, I'm supposed to be working at something some shit like homework

Add this to the list of books that I read in a day, and also to the list of books that made me cry in public.
This book is about, you may have guessed, a man called Ove. Ove lives in a community where everything is nice and orderly, according to his standards. When an energetic, young, family moves in next door, life for Ove is upended.
He cannot understand why this family takes so much of an interest in his life, but as he (gruffly) comes to terms with it all, he realizes that he needs this family nearly as much as they need him.
This book will tug at your heart strings. It will likely make you cry right out of nowhere (hi, past me). I had some issues with pacing and some content of the plot, as it seemed like it was used slightly for shock value, and could be considered sensitive for some readers.
I think this book is great if you want something emotional yet cathartic, quick, and you have a nice cup of tea and a blanket to comfort you.

do y'all realise that your fav trope reflects your personality sm ??
like haters to lovers : if u are hating someone , they already know your flaws and things you are insecure about so when being with them , you have a sense of security that the person knows all the bad about you and wouldn't hate u for it and except u as u are .

I listened to this as an audiobook and while the story was a serious and held my attention in some places, it did not wow me overall.
This story was epic in scope, and it followed multiple generations over many years. Jojo is just trying to live in his family and keep his head down while the rest of his life is a bit volatile. His mother, Leonie, is addicted to drugs and is not really there for Jojo or his toddler sister Kayla, until Jojo and Kayla’s father is released from prison and they all go on a road trip to get him.
There are elements of magical realism, which I thought added a lot to the story overall. Since many of the characters went on a long and arduous journey (both physically and mentally) the magical realism really emphasized the journeys.

YA book recs!
These are some of my favorite YA books, and since I recommend books on tiktok, twitter & Instagram, I feel like I should start recommending them here too! ❤
Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (fantasy, king arthur retelling, romance, BEAUTIFULLY written magic system and a jaw dropping plot.) I finished it a couple of weeks ago and it's my new favorite book. Definitely recommend.
The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska (dual pov, sapphic romance, morally grey female main characters, wintery worldbuilding inspired by polish history, rivals to lovers!) Another book I recently finished and fell madly in love with.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (murder mystery, well written plot, loveable characters) Popular for a great reason! This is also a completed trilogy.
Vicious by V.E Schwab (sci-fi, morally grey main character, superpowers, science gone wrong, multiple pov & addicting from the start) There's so much to love about this book. Since the tone of it is a bit more mature, I recommend this book for people that are at least 16.
Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles (magicians, magic competition, reluctant allies to lovers, glimmering costumes and stage performances, phantom of the opera × moulin rouge vibes, something dark lurking behind the scenes) The worldbuilding in this book is stunning and this is a completed duology! The 2nd book is so good.
I'll definitely make more posts with book recs soon! Also, thanks for over 100 followers here! <3

Barbara Cartland wrote 723 novels – an average of more than 9 a year over her career. In 1976 she wrote 23 – still a world record. Many of her novels were made into films for television, including A Hazard of Hearts starring Helena Bonham Carter, with Christopher Plummer and Diana Rigg. Her 723 novels were translated into 38 languages, and she continues to be referenced in the Guinness World Records for the most novels published in a single year in 1977.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
I thought that this was an interesting story. It opens with Travis who is searching for an author named Maggie St. James who disappeared several years ago. The rest of the story follows three different perspectives, Theo, Calla, and Bee who live in Pastoral, secluded from the rest of the world.
Not everything is as it seems in Pastoral, and strange things are happening everywhere. The story is haunting, and the last half of the novel is quite chilling.
I wasn't able to become entirely absorbed into the story, and while I was surprised by the plot twists, it didn't blow me away.

THIS WEBTOON!!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT PLEASE READ THIS NOW! LIKE DROP EVERYTHING AND GO READ IT NOW!!
Ahem, back to my normal voice.
Lore Olympus had been on my periphery for a few months, mostly because my best friend from school suggested that I read it. Well, dear reader, I binged the entire first season on WebToon in about four days. My eyes thought my room was scrolling for a while after I finished this.
I absolutely love this story. The art style is phenomenal, the characters are golden, and not only is it funny, but it has heart. You will find yourself rooting for the characters, and desperately hoping others fly a bit too close to the sun. I truly have nothing but good things to say about this web comic. I’ve caught up to the story and now have to wait for weekly updates, but that has not stopped me from re-reading the entire thing to hold me over.
Persephone and Hades are my new favorite literary couple, and they deserve the whole freaking world.
Gah, just please read it. I know I’m probably preaching to the choir when I say it, but please just read it. A favorite of this year and all time for sure.
Also!! You can purchase the story as a physical copy, with each volume containing 25 episodes. The first volume is out now, and the second one will be out this summer, while the third is scheduled for the fall (and I’m sure more will be on the way).

This was first collection of short stories and a novella, and I really liked it! It had been on my radar for many months, after seeing it on Book of the Month.
The titular story, the novella, follows a woman working in The Office of Historical Corrections, whose main job is to go around correcting any misinformation about history and historical events, though what she needs to correct will change her life.
Each short story tackles something about culture and history in a poignant way. Human relations are complicated, and Evans writes so well while bearing this in mind. When writing about common human themes, there is meant to be confusion and conflicting feelings. Each story has these feelings, but they’re written as if you are experiencing what each main character is experiencing in real time.
I highly recommend this for anyone who likes short story collections, or someone who is interested in starting to read short story collections.

Fanon vs Canon characters
(Contains spoilers, duh)
Percy Jackson:
fanon Percy: OH this is a pen guys!!! Lolz wtf am I doing again? 🤪Annabeth who? The love of my life is blue food. Omg I like, don't even know where my head is unless my smart gf points it out to me. 😅Haha
canon Percy: is actually smart, though self-deprecating and funny. Is immensely loyal & protective but has the presence of mind to quickly think his way out of a problem. Even Annabeth admits he is pretty intelligent; she simply likes to tease him like he's an idiot.(which he clearly isn't)
Wylan Van Eck:
fanon Wylan: Omg Jesper *blush* *stutters* 🥺*blushes again* oh gosh Kaz, nooo ahhhh I'm just a baby OR Yo get out of the way bitch, this is Kaz Brekker 2.0 & I'm gonna push you into the canal. 😠
canon Wylan: is very smart but insecure. Yet stands up for himself and his friends. Quite kind & modest yet develops confidence along the way. Super smart; His father is a dumb asshole for not recognizing the genius in him. Definitely a badass survivor but dosen't let his shitty circumstances knock the goodness out of him.
Nikolai Lantsov:
fanon Nikolai: Haha I'm so funny & handsome lolz 😝😏 lemme flirt *wink* ah darling I'm just here for the laughs. #partyanimal Narcissus 2.0
canon Nikolai: Funny, smart, charming & brave. Disguises his dangerously smart mind, fears & insecurities behind a well-constructed mask of easy-going charm & wit. Is also deeply patriotic & optimistic despite battling demons from all sides. Is a king through & through, even without a crown.
Jesper Fahey:
fanon Jesper: Shoot! *finger guns* *wink*😜😘 ohhhh Milo *ignores Wylan* my dearest, love of my life, aww. I'm not throwing out the goat. 🐐Haha I'm the dumb comic relief. I'm just here to be loud & funny & annoy Kaz hehe.*twirls guns*
canon Jesper: Friendly, brave, talented but also impulsive & reckless with gambling addiction. Suffers trauma, identity crisis & masks it with humor. Lowkey protective of his friends & hates to disappoint his loved ones. Likes to live in the moment. Looking for purpose in life.
Alina Starkov:
fanon Alina: ugh, so dumb, & whiny all the time. I have no personality guyzzz, besides going back & forth between Mal & Darkling. Meh, there's nothing else.
canon Alina: Snarky, sassy, insecure, also very brave & patriotic, bit of a hero complex, carries the burden of the Chosen One even though she dosen't want to solely to save her country. Is deeply in love with her best friend & is scared of losing him. Very powerful but dosen't let the greed for it overcome her & refuses to let go of her humane & compassionate side. Can be quite funny when she wants to.
Nico di Angelo:
fanon Nico: McDonald's for life. *angst* *gay* *angst* *angst* wow I'm depressed. Casually jokes of death all the time or just yells & swears.
canon Nico: Moody, depressed, used to a joyful kid but scarred by death of his sister. Also kinda angsty & powerful. Eventually overcomes his fears & learns to move on. Comes out as gay & learns to accept his identity, falls in love. Is also brave & loyal. Has a hidden soft side only a few know about. Is the Ghost King; radiates deadly authority. Speaks in a low & quite voice but still carries his point across.
Matthias Helvar:
fanon Matthias: I'm just a boring straight guy who's also misogynistic & homophobic.(insert Ch 40 joke) *Karen 2.0*  *dumb af* Being an uptight edgy prude is the only highlight of my personality. (Insert Ch 40 joke) *rolls eyes* *simps* (yet another stupid Ch 40 joke, now laugh guys, so funny haha)
canon Matthias: Big grump with a kind heart. A tragedy in childhood made him get recruited by a hateful cult. Unlearnt the bigotry & left said cult even at the cost of being branded as a traitor by his beloved country, appears cold at first but is extremely loving & tender, hella brave & wants to do the right thing. Told a misogynistic line just once then revised his opinion & started respecting the warrior sides of Nina & Inej. The only one in the group who cared for a pregnant lady. Stoic & strong, patriotic & heroic soldier, faithful & religious, believes his country can do better. Loves Nina whole-heartedly, notices Jesper & Wylan falling in love & never harbors homophobic feelings against them.
