Somehow, a decade ago. 

I haven’t posted anything that’s felt inspiring here for a bit, but that’s not because there’s no inspiration out there. For the moment, here’s an old something that recently brought me some joy– what a dreamy opening sequence, brought to life by Henry Mancini’s smooth sonic build. 

Yes it’s June, but I still like these songs as much as I did last month.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, here's "Earth Baby", a song about reconnecting with life's simplicity. To create a music video, I reached out to friends all over and asked them to send videos of what they’ve been doing to ease their minds during this dark time. What they sent gave me so much hope.

Always remember– we're just earth babies.

Been a good long while since I’ve shared much, but here are a few songs I find myself sitting with most days. Happy new decade, all. 

All I can say is thank goodness for Naomi Klein. It was truly, truly a privilege to speak with her about her work, the world’s fate, and how the Green New Deal could reshape our future. I highly recommend sitting down and reading her newest collection of essays On Fire: The (Burning) Case for a Green New Deal.  

Made this improvised track last night while looking out the window at a jet stream slash and sink over a very big moon.

Recording this one later this year, but it speaks to what I’ve been feeling, and what I want to remind everyone of. 

A few slow ones that shaped that subtle shift into spring. 

A few snaps from this year’s Treefort Music Festival. We played a quick slew of shows, but it’s always a joy to be in Boise. 

There are a good million reasons I’m eager to get to New Orleans, and seeing Rebirth Brass Band at Maple Bar is in the top three. It was a treat to speak with them. 

In late 2017 between tours I had the opportunity to compose original music for Jared Neumark’s comedy short, One Way Wolf Blitzer Freaky Friday. The whole process was a delight, and prepped me for the scoring work I’ve been doing this winter.

Instead of a playlist, I’m sharing Solange’s surprise new record, When I Get Home. This unhurried, moody, warm, textural embodiment reminds us of what it is to provide an experience through an album. Solange has given us a window into her world, you’d be a fool not to look at something so beautiful.
