Photo dump 4 (last one) of the recently completed 1776cc....
Not a complete step by step as you may be used to from me, but this set shows:
Bolt together rocker shafts set up on heads with clearanced 1.1:1 rocker arms with 8mm elephant foot adjusters.
Rocker geometry set up, adjuster close up is at half lift.
Rockers disassembled, Redline assembly lube applied, shafts reassembled.
Push rods lubed, shafts installed, and valve lash adjusted.
New OEM Valve covers installed.
New NGK spark plugs gapped and installed.
Dan picked this long block up yesterday to complete the turn key assembly. It will be topped off with the new @cb_performance Sniper fuel injection, Magnaspark ignition, and Gilmore @gilmore_enterprises air conditioning.
Give @dangerousdanmiller a follow to see the completed engine soon and the seriously top notch restorations he turns out. We have two more engine builds on schedule for restorations he has in the werks #staytuned

Dressing the 2276cc....
Dual EMPI 48 EPC carburetors on tall CB Performance manifolds bolted on. Carburetors have been cleaned, floats set, and jetted. Alert viewers may have noticed that the @vintagespeed.taiwan linkage installation started in the previous post. The threaded rods went on next.
@msdperformance 8mm street fire wires were then popped on. These were built from a bulk cut to length kit, allowing me to route them in front of the shroud. This was done to clean up the appearance and keep them clear of the carburetor linkage.
Exhaust was ordered this past week and will hopefully be here soon. Other than that, the list of needs is short: a new belt, oil cooler ducts, firewall tin, fuel and oil hose plumbing.
Quick specs: 82mm x 94mm, SLR XR296, Porsche rods, ported 42x37 heads, 8.6:1 compression - this one is going in a Bus.
This one is coming off the stand to make room for another build in the clean assembly room. Stay tuned.

Lori's 1641cc, almost ready to come off the engine stand.
All the original German engine tin was stripped and powder coated satin black before being installed with stainless steel phillips head hardware.
L-jet center plenum was disassembled, hot jet washed, painted detailed, then reassembled with a new center gasket and hardware. New oil spout and cap were also bolted on prior to installation on the engine with restored end castings and new German intake sleeves.
German dog house cooling fan was glass beaded and then painted before installation with backing plates on the new 60 amp alternator. Assembly was then dropped into the powder coated fuel injection specific fan shroud, again secured with matching stainless hardware.
The original German exhaust pipes were ceramic coated and installed with all new gaskets and hardware.
German Beru blue coil tops off the fan shroud. Recently acquired NOS heat exchangers and a ceramic coated muffler will go on once the engine is in the car. The same goes for much of the remaining fuel injection bits.

This one fought me for way too long, but here is the 1641cc longblock for Lori's 1978 Super Beetle.
Stock 69mm crank, reground flywheel, rebuilt rods, stock reground -2 dished camshaft to get the backlash absolutely perfect, and SLR German lifters all stuffed in the original fuel injection magnesium case.
87mm pistons and cylinders, .065" deck across all 4 cylinders, brand new Autolinea stock port heads, new lower deflectors, and push rod tubes. 7.9:1 compression.
New Schadek 26mm oil pump, Aircooled Dynowerks tuned up DVDA distributor, new oil cooler on German offset, powder coated pulley tin, and CB Performance billet crank pulley.
I have all the original German tin powder coated and ready to install coming up soon...

Remember, if you see these photos anywhere online or on other social media accounts with the mention of "for sale" - it is a scam. This engine was a one-off custom build for the customer, it is not in stock anywhere else, and it is not for sale.
On to the next one...

Tom (PCC) provided a better set of push rods than what the builder used in his 36hp. Cleaned those up, removed the old ones (lower right pic), installed the better ones and readjusted the valve lash. #vw #vwbug #36hp https://www.instagram.com/p/BwBqMrfB_46/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xyc04pz3fhss

John B's engine case align bored .060" over with Porta-Tool Mainliner. Big thanks to Rocky Jennings Enterprises for helping to get the Mainliner dialed in. This case also needed the cam bore straightened out, pic 3 shows the RJE center cam bore tool in place.
