Touge: The Last Samurai (2020) Japanese Movie Trailer English Subtitles
In the turbulent last days of the Edo period, Kawai Tsugunosuke, a Japanese samurai serving the Makino clan of Nagaoka, dreamt of independence from the restraints of vassalship. Despite his progressive views and his desire for his estate to remain neutral during the Boshin Civil War, he was bound by loyalty and duty to the clan and was compelled to choose sides.
It’s interesting to see more Samurai films returning to the screen like it once was in the 60s, with films by Akira Kurosawa and tv series like Zatoichi and the likes.
So far the best films I’ve watched recently are Sekigahara (2017) and Taiga Dramas like Awaiting Kirin (Ongoing) which is about Mitsuhide Akechi (Hiroki Hasegawa), the man who will betray Oda Nobunaga, so I’m curious to know why he did it, Yae No Sakura (2013), which is about Yae Niijima (Haruka Ayase), the female fighter who defend her family and clan at Aizu Castle during Boshin War against the Imperials and II Naotora The Lady Warlord (2017), which is about the female lord, Ii Naotora (Ko Shibasaki) that took over her family clan during the Sengoku period, after the male heirs of her family have died in war. But unlike the 60s films I mentioned, the recent films are based and inspired by real life characters and actual historical events.

My latest cross stitch project! I’ve started it a while back but I didn’t have much time to work on it. Again, it’s a reproduction of one of @mightier work. This time tho I cropped I pretty big chunk of the image because I didn’t want to do a project as big as last time. I’m using about 50 colours of thread for this piece.

After more than a year and a half, it’s finally finished! I’m really happy with the final result, and now I only need to clean , stretch and frame it. I spent so much time on this, I celebrated the end by splurging and buying four keycharms by @mightier , the original artist of the illustration used for this piece.
I’ll probably start a new piece soon :)

I’m not dead! I didn’t work on it for a while because of school, but I’m now halfway done! The head took forever because there was so much details but it was a really fun part to work on.
The whole thing is about 15x18 inches and every square contain a hundred stiches. Credit to @mightier for the gorgeous original picture
