I'm not just a "mortal Daniel wears glasses" truther. I also think as an immortal, he starts wearing tinted glasses--yellow or violet lenses, maybe--to help disguise the inhuman appearance of his eyes. Daniel in glasses forever!

What a jaw-dropping performance!
If you're confused, this is a sequel of sorts to a previous cursed comic of mine:

Flowers of Two Thousand Years (Part 1)
Marius-centric comic. The following 9+ pages are closely based on Prince Lestat and The Vampire Lestat. (CW for violent imagery including a vampire turning)

to be continued
I initially didn't plan to spend THIS much time on this part of Marius' Story in TVL; the concept of this comic is to show some parts of Marius' life with the connecting theme of flowers, in quick succession. I don't know if one even notices most of the flowers, that scene is just so horrifically over the top. SO much is going on. If you remember the book there's yet more grisly details (like simultaneous drownings. And skulls!!). I restructured this scene 3 times just because the pages were too crowded.
Not sure how many pages the rest of the comic will have since I keep adding stuff.............. will probably take awhile.

the saddest thing ever is that marius was in venice for, what, like 20 years? it was such a tiny phase of his life, it's like when you have ADHD and you're really really really into a hobby and convinced it's your new thing and then you burn out in 2 weeks and never touch it again.
it's so sad like he was with Armand for 4-5 years at the most? especially when he spent 200+ years with his other fledglings? he even spent like entire centuries around Avicus and Mael? was in Constantinople with them for nearly a century and he doesn't even LIKE Mael?? (or so he claims, smh.)
anyway very sad that the Venice Era is like, the cornerstone of Armand's entire worldview. A friend phrased it like AS ROME IS TO MARIUS, MARIUS IS TO ARMAND -- everything will always ultimately come back to these principles, to how Marius identifies as a Roman or how Armand wants to live up to the paradigm of Marius's approval, to his identity as Marius's student, and it was such a tiny tiny tiny little piece of Marius's life.

scandalous glimpse at my library of confusion
Tagged by @desertfangs tysm friend!
1) The last book I read:
The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice!
2) A book I recommend:
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle is the most exquisitely written work in all of existence in my opinion. I recommend it to everyone. It is just so very touching. Grapples with morality, innocence, corruption, greed, what can be kept and what we must release. All of life's painful and beautiful little truths in one very sweet and painfully insightful book.
3) A book that I couldn’t put down:
Anything by Riley Sager keeps me captive, sometimes against my will, LOL.
4) A book I’ve read twice (or more):
I read The Lord of the Rings trilogy every autumn! It's a tradition! Peter Pan is also my favorite book ever.
5) A book on my TBR:
To finish The Divine Comedy.
6) A book I’ve put down:
The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway, I might attempt again. I only seemed to get it while traveling? I was annoyed while I read it and then I went to New Orleans and all I could think about was the Parisian vibe from the book, and it just hit me. All at once. And then I realized it was a pretty special book.
7) A book on my wish list:
Wish list... That's devoted to Manga collections and Manga art books I think. I need everything by Kaori Yuki. Everything she has EVER done.
8) A favorite book from childhood:
Hah, I was a sucker for Babysitter's Little Sister, Karen Brewer was such a devil child and it was delightful.
9) A book you would give to a friend:
Jane Eyre. It is a must-read. For everyone. But only if it hasn't been spoiled yet. I never spoil that book even as incessantly as I'll chatter on about it.
10) A book of poetry or lyrics that you own:
I have a book of poetry a friend of mine wrote! Immersion by Kylie Cheshire.
11) A nonfiction book you own:
Tons, I love nonfiction! Don't Be A Tourist in Paris by Messy Nessy Chic blog is lovely.
12) What are you currently reading:
Fanfiction!
13) What are you planning on reading next?:
I want to refresh on Tale of the Body Thief next!
PLEASE DO THIS, I know I didn't tag anyone, I'm just dog tired! Forgive me!

Vampire Crime!
Tumblr media
You know Marius had little names picked out for them. This one’s Sextus and this one’s Marcus Graccus
Alternate title for Queen of the Damned was Marius and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Tumblr media
I mean??
Tumblr media
I don't mean to laugh, but it's just The Worst time for him. Like, the woman he's been engaging in Highly Intellectualized goddess worship with, rises up, says fuck this I'm Out. Then she destroys his house and leaves him under the ice for ten days. And in that time she further fucks with him by lighting anyone that goes to his aid on fire. And when he does finally get out its Pandora and fucking SANTINO of all people who are there seeing him at his most vulnerable and to top it all of his fiSH ARE DEAD?!???

This might be a dumb question but what is Lestats light exactly?
It’s the sheer power of Lestat’s personality.
It’s his joie de vivre, his élan vital. It’s his exuberance, his enthusiasm, his willpower, his fighting spirit. His insatiable positivity and optimism. It’s his hope. It’s his capacity for loving unconditionally, for forgiving those who wrong him, his capacity for enduring. His heart. His soul.
They hit the nail on the head when they described Lestat as a “hurricane” in the show, because he is a force of nature, a radiant meteor full of fire and passion and intensity and a fierce indomitable strength that just will not allow him to ever stop.
