Clothing items mentioned in the Daevabad series
Collecting clothing words to google for fanart's sake. This post will be continually edited as I research. See the turban version here.

Turban Vocab to Research
I'm keeping an ongoing list of words I come across while researching turbans (I'm not from a culture that wears them). They'll start as just the word I need to look up, then will fill with what I find out.
dumalla - small round turban worn by Sikh men (source: Lurags)
parna - small round turban worn by Sikh women (source: Lurags)
 paghri or pagh
hijab - a garment that covers the head and chest worn by both women and men (came up in an image search for turbans and the men's hijab looks similar to a turban to someone outside the respective cultures.) Available in all colors and different fabrics. More common in modern times than in the recent past. (source: the Quoran Courses Online Institute)
thobe, jailed, shayla - men's style hijabs (source: the Quoran Courses Online Institute)

Found on Lurags Orange Turban (you can buy it)
Such a dramatic cool shot! Don't know what culture/time this style of wrapping a turban is from, but I really hope to use this as reference for drawing Ali.

immediately makes a new blog for the topic
but the turbans
I want to draw fanart of the Daevabad Trilogy so bad but I'm so ignorant about the clothing styles. Spessifically turbans are causing me issues. There are so, so many types! And they all seem to mean something important! Ad in the fact that this isn't current fashion, but historical fantasy fashion and I'm at a loss.
Anyone know key words I should use to do my research on what different characters might be wearing?
