1899 premiered on Netflix one year ago today and even though Iām still completely utterly devastated over the unrightfull cancellation Iām just so thankful this show got to exist in the first place. Iām so thankful that it got what it got even though it deserves moreš„²
And I truly canāt recommend it enough! 1899 is captivating and thought provoking, with a plot that runs so deep and characters that are far more than what you see on the surface. It truly truly is worth the watch and will keep you guessing till the very end (and beyond because yk Netflix is shit)
So please if you havenāt yet GIVE IT A WATCH! You wonāt regret it

Jonathan was never trying to see Nancy naked because he takes the picture without realizing that Nancy was getting undressed - he can't hear the conversation Steve and Nancy are having he just saw her figure and pointed the camera because it was his crush- and as soon as he does realize that she was getting naked he lowers the camera and focuses it on Barb, what he did wrong was keep the photo for developing and I think it's in part because he has a crush on her and he's a 16year old boy, but also in part because he does think about that as art and as him capturing the right moments like he said, that wasn't totally bullshit on his part and who does photography understands that... now does that make it okay? Obviously not, because he should have just cut and burned that picture...but it also doesn't make him " a perverse stalker " He never had that intention and it matters and that's why Nancy forgives him. He started looking at them because he heard the scream and wanted to help thinking someone was in danger and then he saw them having fun and he wanted to capture that moment - I also think he kind of was envious of them being in a group and lived that popularity/fun feeling through them while he was going through something really traumatic himself because Will was missing and his mom was losing her mind in his point of view... so he saw something that was fun and wanted to experience that through the camera to not think about all the shit going on in his life in that moment!
