Look, I love "Echo as a closely-knit member of the Bad Batch" as much as the next person (I sure write it enough) but I think the opposite also has its merits: Echo as "That Super Cool Commando Who Stayed With Us For A While And Who Now Helps Us Out Sometimes."
Crosshair only makes fun of him because the cyborg commando who lived with them after they dragged him out of a secret lab can both out-shoot him with a DC-17 AND hack into computers with his mind, and He's Way Too Cool.
Echo and the Batch don't care about each other any less, but Echo being more of a Cool Cousin than a Brother is great to me because it puts everything in early TBB into another light. Echo just gets a front-row seat to everyone's petty fights and family drama without feeling the need to step into it unless there's blood.
@the-bi-space-ace I know we usually write the whole Batch being super tight-knit, but this occurred to me, and I thought it was a funny alternate way to think about Echo's dynamic with the Batch.
