Major problem that I have while on keto is lack of sodium. Meaning that when I work out or run, I sometimes get really lightheaded and tired. This occurs because on low carb your insulin levels drop and thus you shed excess sodium and water, which is why people lose that extra bloat when just starting out on low carb.
But this problem can be easily remedied by replenishing salt levels by drinking bouillon (broth) or a V8 before you go work out. I like the bouillon cubes that you can buy at the store! You can just plop them in some hot water to make broth. Super simple.
Now, I can run without being light headed, and because my body is running off of fat and not carbs, I won’t “bonk” or “hit the wall” when I’m working out because fat is a much more sustainable energy source.
Nutritional Values per brownie: 79 calories, 1 Net Carb (2g Fibre), 2g Protein, 7g Fat
Ingredients (make 12)
2 ripe avocados (160g)
30g unsweetened cocoa powder
100g granulated sweetener (truvia)
30g coconut oil
2tsp (4g) instant coffee (trust me, it will give it just the perfect kick)
50g milled golden flaxseed
2tbsp vanilla extract
1/2tsp salt
Instructions
Heat the oven to 180c and prepare a small/medium pyrex dish.
in a big bowl, put the smashed avocados followed by all other ingredients and mash together with a wooden spoon/spatula until everything is well blended.
Extra: once well blended taste for sweetness (no raw egg, so no risks)
Pour into pyrex and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Then leave to cool for at least 2 hours before cutting/serving.
Amazing recipe for fat bombs with Neapolitan flavour combination - chocolate, strawberry, vanilla. The recipe is very simple, and only 0.4g net carbs per fat bomb! Definitely making these soon.
