I just re-watched Phantom of the Paradise recently and was wondering if Levon's appearance is partly based on Swan from that movie? I feel like you might have answered this question before somewhere before but tumblr's search function is so bad...

Yes! Both Levon and Margaret are loosely based on Swan and Phoenix from Phantom of the Paradise, which, in turn, was loosely based on Phantom of the Opera and Faust... well, great artists steal, as they say. I thought it would be very obvious, and to some people it is, and others go watch POTP for the first time and run to me and go "Levon?!" It always leaves me a little bashful.

Someone I know read this and said "oh, you took Paul Williams and yassified him." Which... I mean if you MUST put it that way... I go into the characters and dev a bit more in the Bonus Tracks for The Conductor, which you can grab on my Ko-Fi for 3 USD. The Conductor can be purchased on my itch.io shop.
