Baron Samedi: Oh, I would love to sweetheart, but I’m afraid I’m stuck in this awful place you call a town. Hell, I can’t even find a good cigar in this shitty dustbowl Have you found my hat? Give it to me, and I’ll make things right again.
Officer Haught: Your days in Purgatory are over, Samedi.
Baron Samedi: I know it’s close by. I will tear apart every inch of this town to get it back. GIVE IT TO ME NOW.
Officer Haught: Hands up Samedi.
Jeremy: [chants in foreign language]
Baron Samedi: [laughs] Your little spell won’t work on me. I want that hat.
Officer Haught: Go back to where you came from.
[sounds of fire and Samedi screaming]
Jeremy: Holy crap. How did you know that would work?
Officer Haught: I didn’t! I thought lighting his hat on fire would either get rid of him or make him really really mad. God, I’m glad that worked.

He was dressed in a tuxedo and had a [pauses to breathe a few times] white skull painted on his face. He said he wanted to make a deal....if I found his hat, he would erase all the hurt and make things good with Waverly and I. He said [shakily breathes] he said he could stop the pain and-and turn Waverly’s heart. [silent pause] He said he’s sick of people calling on him. Hmph, I get that. Was it all a dream? My daughter Alice and I returned from Haiti earlier this month. While there Alice fell into a powerful fever and fierce gentleman by the name of baron Samedi came to me. He is a very powerful foe and has the power to take people to eternal rest or deny them entry.
He taunted me and said he was back to claim another of my loved ones. But I have been studying for this very day and knew what to do. He came in the depths of her fever and tried to steal her from me but I tricked him. I stole his most powerful possession and returned with haste to New York City with Alice. This item contains hi ability to move freely between worlds and without it he is only able to travel to ours when summoned. Alice has returned to full health but I fear she is still haunted by the journey. I know if Baron Samedi were to gain possession of this item again he would come for Alice and myself.

Strange Encounter

Officer Haught: Shit that was, that was super weird. [softly] Just get it out, just get it out. [clears throat, returns to normal volume] So I decided to go to that new bar on Main, and I sit down for a drink and this guy sits down besides me, has a cane, late 40′s, dark skin, dressed super well. Starts to tell me this story about living in Haiti and there was a thief that came and, stole something super important to him. He just found out that this thing was in Purgatory and uh, he, uh, asked me if I had seen it. Of course I have no idea what he’s talking about and then he says, he’ll be in town till he recovers it, no matter what the cost. I said, you probably shouldn’t say things like that, because you never know who’s going to be listening. Then he turns to me, and says, “I know a lot about you, Nicole Haught. See you soon.” I have no idea how he knows who I am. But I think I might know who he is.

When I summoned him I met a man, a tall handsome man who told me he could bring them back to me if I did one little favor. I was so desperate I said yes without asking any questions. Samedi wanted me to kill Theodore Roosevelt. A President! I was shocked but I wanted them back so badly I agreed. As I took aim in Wisconsin and his damned speech stopped the bullet, Samedi came to me in jail and mocked me. I begged him to bring them back anyways but he only laughed at me. That was the last time I saw him.
Until I had you, I had no reason to live. You are my everything.
