Feel free to add what kind of book, whether it was a novella or a tome in the comments/tags. I’m curious as I’ve only ever done it twice, many years ago.
#the 500 pages ones- if it was over 1000 it could take me 1 to 3 days depending on if i was being made to do more than sleep and eat#i was a 3 book a day kind of kid#nowadays it takes me weeks to get through one but i'm working on my attention span

people like to fearmonger about deaf children who never get cochlear implants/get them late never learning to speak and it's literally not a concern I have. I am largely voice off in public and it's fine. I'm fine. Deaf people have been living without speech since time immemorial we are fine.
