To Hekate
Lovely Hekate of the roads
and of the crossroads I invoke.
In heaven, on earth,
then in the sea, saffron-cloaked,
tomb spirit reveling
in the souls of the dead,
daughter of Perses, haunting deserted places,
delighting in deer,
nocturnal, dog-loving,
monstrous queen,
devouring wild beasts,
ungirt and repulsive.
Herder of bulls,
queen and mistress of the whole world,
leader, nymph,
mountain-roaming nurturer of youths,
maiden, I beseech you to come
to these holy rites,
ever with joyous heart,
ever favoring the oxherd.
—The Orphic Hymns

a polytheistic worldview/theology is comforting in that deities/gods are neither omniscient nor omnipotent; there are gaps in their power and influence, holes in their knowledge, secrets even they do not know. there is not a claim to wholeness/totality, but a fractured knowing and experience that is richer for all of the bright, sharp edges.

How To: Make Ink from Flowers
This is by far the most abundant ink I have in my house is that of inks made from flowers. This is the easiest and fastest inks to be made and require the least amount of materials to produce brilliant and soft colors. The inks from flowers can be either stunning and dark, or a lighter and more pale like one would expect from watercolor. Flower inks don’t last as long as inks produced from berries or nuts, and being left in the sunlight will fade their colors faster, but since this ink is so fast and easy to make, it can always be in supply. The shelf life of this ink is about a month if kept in the dark, but this is dependent on the color itself.
Materials:
Glass containers (preferably mason jars or drinking cups)
A pestle or other wooden tool (to crush the flowers with)
Boiling water
Cheese cloth
Rubbing Alcohol or 100 Proof Vodka
Glass storage container
Optional: Gum Arabic
Steps:
First, gather the flower petals of choice for the color desired (note some flower ink isn’t the same color as the flower petals).
Take these petals and crush them into the glass container, stuffing as many as you can in 1/3rd of the container as possible. The more crushed the petals, the more color will come out.
Fill the container with just enough boiling water to barely cover the flower petals. Do not fill the container, as this will dull the ink.
Set this container aside to brew overnight (I actually leave mine in the window to brew for 24 hours).
Strain the flower petals from the liquid, pouring the colored ink into a clean glass storage container.
Add 1 part alcohol to the container and shake gently (do not shake hard enough to form bubbles).
Optional: You may add Gum Arabic to give the ink a thicker consistency.
A recommendations on flowers, I have found that roses and other soft petaled flowers make a stronger ink.

Can Wiccans stop calling pagan deities triple goddesses or our death goddesses "crones" because it does nothing but show you don't do any research on these religions.
Hekate is not a triple goddess, she appears in triple form to represent the three-way crossroads and is depicted as a young woman. The Morrighan is not a triple goddess as she actually has four aspects (Badb, Macha, Némain, Féa) and none represent the stages of a person's life, but the Morrighan may choose to appear elderly as a death omen. Kali is not a crone goddess just because she's associated with death and you shouldn't be touching Hinduism unless you wish to convert. The Arabian goddesses Al-Uzza, Al-Lat, and Manat are sisters and none of them are described as being elderly or as a maiden.
So in short, your concept of a triple goddess belongs to Wicca, not paganism, and should be left that way. What you're doing with our cultures is not only ignorant but disrespectful as well, and research is not that difficult to do.

Beltane, the sabbat of sex and the...wait a second...
Beltane is basically the Sex and the City of the Sabbats, in my personal opinion.
Sexual energy is at an all time high, this is the third and final festival of fertility and it shows.
More commonly known as ‘May Day’ one activity almost everyone knows about that is heavily associated with this Sabbat is the maypole.
And while some people may want to think a may pole is just an elaborate dance to decorate a pole, it is actually a symbol of the feminine taking the masculine in, basically it’s symbolic sex.
The Goddess is in Maiden form and is full of fertile and sexual energy, the God is finally mature enough to join with the Goddess and bring fertility to the world.
Beltane is a direct opposite to Samhain where Death is celebrated and the God is mourned by the Goddess in her Crone form, Beltane is about birth, this opposition creates balance.
According to ‘Wicca, A Modern Practitioner’s Guide’ written by Arin Murphy - Hisock, some Wiccans only celebrate Samhain and Beltane because, I would assume, of the perfect balance between them.
Another energy that really shines through on Beltane belongs The the Sidhe, the Fair Folk, more commonly known as Faeries.
They’re cheeky and they’re reaching across the thinner than normal veil, because just like Samhain the veil between worlds both seen and unseen is at its thinnest.
Unlike at Samhain however, I have found, spirits of the deceased have very little to say during this celebration, of course this is merely my personal experience.
Since the veil is thin this is a great time to contact the fae and the Gods, I find this holiday to be great to connect with Aphrodite and Ares, because they are both made of pure passion, and it seems to suit this festival very well!
I’m in the Southern Hemisphere so Beltane is nearly upon us down here and I am stoked for it!
As much as I love the passionate energy zapping everyone on this holiday, I often have felt out of place, I’m aroace and I can’t just switch on the I want to have sex part of me because it’s not there in the first place.
So I’ve always written on this holiday, because writing is something I am passionate about, so if you’re uncomfortable at the idea of sex in any way shape or form, don’t have a partner, don’t have great experiences with sex or just aren’t interested in having sex, find something you feel passionate about and make a day of doing it.
Enjoy yourself!
Enjoy Beltane and the passion it brings to our lives, enjoy ‘conceiving’ something, like a new project to work on or a child.
Blessed be,
Star

Something that baffles me is when people compare Aphrodite to “bloody” goddesses (Anat, Inanna, Sekhmet, etc.) as a way to say Aphrodite is just a demure love goddess teehee, look how badass my warrior goddess is instead.
Aphrodite Ourania rose out of blood and the ocean and walked to land fully-formed. This Aphrodite is a Titaness, older even than the generation of Zeus. She has no mother. She is never an infant. She is the ultimate generative power, the fish, born from a male (upending societal norms) and wielding the power of creation and invention.
Aphrodite Areia is a war goddess - this is the title made famous by Athena and Ares, but Aphrodite does not get this title from her lover. She is a goddess of soldiers and fights on the battlefield of Troy. She is also Aphrodite Hoplismena, the armed, depicted in full armor with a shield and sword. This is the Aphrodite of Sparta.
Aphrodite Nikephoros is not only Aphrodite armored and armed, but Aphrodite commanding the power of Nike - Nike, the goddess usually found at Zeus’s side, ensuring victory. This Aphrodite is not one to be crossed on the battlefield, because you will not win.
Or maybe we just aren’t on the same page as the ancients when it comes to a “love goddess.” Aphrodite Pandemos is a goddess of frenzy, a goddess who incites war and madness, a goddess to whom it was said even the Fates would bend their will. To some Hellenes, Aphrodite was the goddess of creation because she is the spark of all love and desire - and to others, she was the creator of all.
There’s nothing wrong in calling Aphrodite a goddess of love - she is, truly. But this doesn’t make her timid. She is not clawless. She is a complex goddess, inextricably linked to the awesome war goddesses of the Ancient Near East. Do not dilute her just because you’re not familiar with her or with the domain of love goddesses. I know this may seem trivial to some people, but don’t reduce one goddess to make another look more powerful - they don’t need it.

chubby girls who think they’re better than thin girls because “guys like thick girls” are clowns. thin girls who think they’re better than chubby girls because “guys like skinny girls” are clowns. you’re all clowns, stop letting men turn you against other women (over something so superficial and unimportant!!!). stop letting men “validate” your existence and body type. they dont care about you, they have a fetish.

Verizon will sell the image-centric blogging website Tumblr to Automattic, owner of the blogging tools suite WordPress, according to the Wall Street Journal. The terms of the sale were not disclosed, but Axios reports the amount was “well below” $20 million.
That would be a staggering discount against the $1.1 billion paid for Tumblr by Yahoo in 2013 as part of an ambitious turnaround effort by Yahoo’s then-CEO Marissa Mayer. But Mayer’s turnaround foundered, and the Tumblr deal in particular was a flop. By early 2016, Yahoo had written down Tumblr’s value by $230 million, and by 2017, all of Yahoo was sold to Verizon for just $4.48 billion.

Working with Poseidon
Tumblr media
All gods you choose to work with have incredibly different energies. Some are very calming and make you feel safe while others are so strong they make your teeth hurt. Once you make contact with different entities you’re able to tell the difference between what energy is present while you are working. That being said, here is my experience working with Poseidon as well as tips on how to contact him, make offerings, and overall how to work with a god like him.
Poseidon in particular has always had a unique energy to me. You feel it more around you than on you and if he touches you it’s incredibly intense. It normally starts as a tingle in my back that spreads all over and you know you’re being watched. His energy has always been the easiest to connect to for me and I know the exact second he is present.
He is god of the sea so if you are planning on making contact with him I’d suggest going to a beach. While I am very fortunate to have a house on the water I cannot always go there so I improvise in my bathtub with sea salt and candles. I’d suggest meditating and opening yourself up to receiving energies and simply asking him to appear. My first time it took many prayers but suddenly I knew I wasn’t alone.
Offerings to him such as candies, liquor, seashells, bread, artwork, and crystals also appease him and would work as a bribery of sorts to get him to start working with you. He is a god though so be consistent with your offerings and never give more than you can. He’s incredibly powerful and you can feel that so he’s very useful in helping out with spells.
My first time working with him he came in contact with me through my dreams with another goddess so he definitely will contact you seperatly if he wants to work with you. Most gods are territorial in a way of their followers so if you are planning on making big deals with him you should know exactly what you’re getting into. Although most people are not planning on only serving him so my best advice would be to make your reasons known for contacting him.
Keeping a fish tank is great to keep in contact and leaving offerings by that is even better. Please please please treat your fish correctly if you are planning this. Poseidon is also god of horses so if you are able to keep them they are a great way to honor him. Other ways to honor him on the daily would be swimming in a pool, meditating in a shower, sitting by a lake, or even donating to charities that help the oceans.
Working with Poseidon may also lead to working with mermaids (or sirens), the fae, and even Aphrodite in some cases. All of these entities revolve around the water and once they see you caring for creatures they care for, they will be more willing to work with you. This is especially good when it come to the fae due to their nature of being hard to come in contact with.
Poseidon is a very powerful being and working with him will give you some of that power but with all entities comes some warnings. You should know a lot about a god before making any deals and remember to always stand your ground. Overall though he is a very rewarding individual and I would highly reccomend people at least contact him, for he is one of the original gods in the Greek Pantheon.
If you have any questions about him or any other god, feel free to message me! I also take requests on what to talk about and I’ve never posted any of my spells on Tumblr before but I’d be down to create some spells for people.
