“I – wow. I lost my family at a young age, don’t want to disclose it but it’s really sensitive. We’re definitely on the same boat with family issues.” Rex admitted to that. His face lit up after hearing he knew Ben. The others sounded familiar to him– Ben was always fond of talking about his own team. He introduced himself.
“Wait a second! You know Ben? Thought I might drop by for a visit from Providence. Name’s Rex. I’m Providence’s best agent. I heard about Gwen and Kevin but I don’t think I recall Ben talking about you before?”
❝Please, do not divulge any personal information that you find uncomfortable. I understand.❞ Rook was getting a lot better at picking up on human emotional ques so he was quick to not press the matter any further but the alien’s own disposition grew when he had noticed that his had changed also from the somber turn of the conversation.
❝Yes, I know Ben and you are the Rex he spoke about? I am VERY pleased to meet you.❞ feline’s smile grew with pointed fangs baring, holding out a hand for a hand shake, a custom he had come to quite enjoy in recent months. ❝He has told me quite a bit about his adventures with you and all about your mechanical abilities. I did not know him prior to this, I only recently became his new partner so that is more than likely why you have not heard of me. I am Rook Blonko.❞

❛ Okay… NOT our most GRACEFUL of landings—– more so for you. Nothin’ about how I land is usually graceful anyway, so this is just the norm for me. Though, you still made yourself more poised than I did falling off a moving ship. ❜
Banter aside, Ben knew Rook wasn’t going to be all that thrilled with the fact that they were too far from the prototruck to catch up to the currently escaping villains, and Ben was going to have to wait AT LEAST another minute or two to turn into XLR8 or Fasttrack to catch up ( unless the Universe was gonna do him a solid in the next seven seconds or something and time back in quick this time ). Getting back up from his clumsy landing, he gave a quick glance to Rook.
❛ You up for a good chase right now, ‘cause my ideas right now are you go for the truck while I chase ‘em on foot, or we both go and wait for the watch to time back in. Or a mish mash of the two——- I’m pretty open to ANY ideas about now dude! But maybe we be SNAPPY since they’re kinda getting away! ❜
Hand rested atop his knee in a crouched position he took after his rough landing to absorb some of the damage to his legs, the phrase cats always landed on their feet came to mind immediately at Ben’s quip ( he had heard that many times during his days on Earth and thought it was appropriate in this situation despite denying fervently that he was a mere house cat ) as he rose to his full height.

Go on without me, I will return with the PROTO TRUK and, as the idiom goes, head them off at the pass.❞ his ears may have twitched just a little with a small smile presenting itself just for knowing that little tidbit of earthly information but that quickly faded as he quickly pivoted on one foot and began to sprint back the way they came ; the Proto Truk was only a few miles or so away and he would make that in less than ten minutes and hopefully be back in time to intercept the escaping criminals.
