I chose to go with a playlist. I have absolutely loved being a part of this little ohana, and I can't wait to get to know more and more about each of the citizens of Elias, and you guys as well!
I am such a theatre kid, so I have always had a penchant for "I Want" songs, and I feel like Vanellope and Kida are really in their "I Want" phase. They have just come to Elias, they are searching for their purpose, forming relationships, and discovering who they want to be.
I'm also a sucker for the straight-to-video sequels, so this Playlist is mainly comprised of songs from those movies.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone here in Walt. I have loved getting to know you and playing with you!!

Kida laughed, putting her hands on her hips as the teens flooded past her. She admired the deft handling of the bat.
"Just admiring your technique," she replied, turning to watch the group run.
"I would offer my assistance, but I think you've got it handled."

"But it is a beautiful view from the top."
She turned, smiling.

"I've been to the Mantecorn since I've been in Elias. It's cute, I love the theme!" She beamed.
"What's your favorite part of Elias?" Kida asked. It never bored her to hear what her fellow citizens thought of their little city, each tidbit a treasure she tucked into her heart.

Kida had gotten food poisoning. She shuddered, remembering the awful few days that she never wanted to repeat.
“It’s decided then,” she replied, slapping the menu flat on the table and folding her hands on top of it. She smiled at Kit, tilting her head.
“Where do you usually eat?”

“Ah —” Kit saw her close the menu with such decisiveness, it only felt right to mimic the action as well. He set the menu down slowly, smoothing out the laminated paper. “Truth be told, I’m a bit all over the place. But I might suggest The Mantercorn Tavern, or there’s a brilliant Korean restaurant just a block from here, it’s a bit of a hidden gem.”

Kida resonated with the other's worries. All her life, she knew that her eventual purpose would be to take the reins of her father's kingdom, rule their people and protect them. It was a role she would embrace willingly, for she loved her people, but she remembered there were times in her life where the pressure rubbed. The way Kida had coped with it was the pursuit of answers to their people's past, tinkering with old machinery, diving in the many waters to look at old murals, and eventually, scouting beyond the borders of their little pocket beneath the sea.
"Awarness is the first step, I believe," Kida replied, reaching out a hand and placing it on the young woman's shoulder. "You seem to know him well, so I'd say keep listening and tailoring your suggestions for him."
Kida chuckled as the other described the mischief her siblings got up to.
"Well, I can see how that would be frustrating," she admitted.
"Could he be looking for your attention?" Kida asked aloud, more musing than accusing.

Kida smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"This is very mundane but there's a super cool set of magnets in the gift shop," she explained, leaning in conspiratorially. "I love the crystal ones especially."
Her smile widened at the question.
"Why, yes! We host a number of kid-themed programs. There's a tour with a hands-on fossil dig, there's a 'Paint and Sip" inspired by the various paintings in the collection, where we have a kid-friendly spread and sparkling juice..." Kida chattered, pulling out her handful of pamphlets and rifling through them. She produced the one detailing all the children's activities, holding it out.
"Here you go! I love that you're helping him explore his horizons. I wish sometimes that I had some siblings," she sighed, smile turning wistful.

Kida also squinted at the board but the numbers meant entirely nothing to her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Meg smile, and allowed a small chuckle to escape her lips as well.
Kida batted the fork away, her chuckle turning to a full belly laugh.
"It may just help," she laughed, snatching up her own fork. She battled Meg for a few moments.
"Ha! We'll make a warrior out of you yet! Come, let's try our hand again."

“Pathetic, frustrating, and pointless?” Kida replied, throwing herself onto the plastic bench beside Meg.
“I have bested men twice my size in combat. I can’t throw a ball to knock down some wooden pins?” She sighed, disgusted.
“Why do you find this fun?”

“Took the words right out of my mouth, sunshine.” Meg squinted up at the board, finding herself smiling at how ridiculous their scoring was. Together, they had so far done terribly at bowling.
“Might be ‘cause your life isn’t in danger. You want me to try stabbing at you with a fork while you bowl?” she picked up a plastic fork from the tray of food on their table, pretending to stab the air in front of Kida.

Kida breathed a sigh of relief as she saw a young woman standing in front of her. Then she started to giggle, the adrenaline turning to relief.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell," she laughed. She stepped closer, holding out her hand.
"I'm Kida. I was just wandering, so I'll be honest, I'm not sure I know the way back!"

The trees whispered above her as Kida jogged along a trail, following her whim like the breeze, ducking down side paths and popping out onto the main trail at random. A particularly beautiful pond caught her eye and she spent some time gazing into the brilliant blue water.
As she turned, she bumped into someone standing just behind her, letting out a cry of surprise as she stumbled back.
"Don't sneak up on a person like that!" she yelped, pressing a hand to her racing heart.

"I appreciate the compliment, but I have only been here a few short months," she explained. "There may yet be a shred of truth to this rumor."
She pulled a map of the museum and the exhibits from her uniform pocket, thinking.
"Have you lived in Elias long, Mr. Beaumont?"

“beaumont. toulouse beaumont.” he introduced himself before giving a hmph. “figures. i have heard there is lots of precious art down there that the mayor keeps all to himself.” he said with a shrug, “but, if an extremely well versed guide like yourself has not been invited to see it i assume it’s not here.”

"It's a salted caramel cold brew with cold sweet foam," she replied, eyebrows scrunching as she repeated the long phrase.
"The salty really gives it a little extra punch!" She empahzied the adjective with a fist pump to the air.
“What is that you are drinking because it looks really good.” Sulley gestured at the iced coffee in the person’s hand.

“What bad luck comes from food?” She asked. “What did you get? Maybe I’ll just get that.”

“Food poisoning,” he suggested, with a sigh and a look in his eye that had seen, perhaps, too many moments with food poisoning. “I ordered a quesachanga. Which is, I believe, a combination of a quesadilla and chimichanga” Kit peered down at the menu, just to make sure he got that right. “It’s really quite good,” he added with an encouraging smile. “I don’t often eat at Bueno Nacho, so it feels more like a treat.”

When Kida met the McDucks, she was instantly enamored by their stories of the surface world. Her father didn't want to welcome these strangers, but Kida convinced him.
Then the call came - danger. Kida was ready to face it, but her father convinced her to go with the them to protect Atlantis.
It broke her heart to leave her ailing father and their people, but that string of curiosity tugged and tugged. Maybe she could still find someone who could help her crack the code.
In comparison to her life in Atlantis, Elias, California was mundane in the best way possible. Kida adores the monotony of her days, giving tours at the museum and learning how the people of this new world live.
In the meantime, she's drinking in all the knowledge she possibly can, both from the public library and Scrooge's personal.
And Milo, while scholarly, awkward, and scrawny, has a charm that Kida can't quite resist…

Kidagakash remembers little about the day Atlantis sunk beneath the waves. She remembers a bright light, like a star, and her mother’s hand slipping from her own.
Kida grew up quickly, training to be the strongest she could be to protect and serve her people.
She loved them, walking among them, learning their stories, determined to be fully in-tune with the needs of her people.
Over the centuries, Kida watched as Atlantean culture slowly withered. She longed to crack the code of their lost language, tinkering with the machinery that she found around the island.
While Kida looked to the past, she also looked to the surface world, and the future. Was there something up there that could help them discover the key to written Atlantean? Could unlocking the secrets of their past lead them to a better future?
In her patrols, Kida and her chosen few stumbled upon the McDuck expedition, sparking hope that maybe, just maybe, the gods had answered her many prayers.
