When I was a kid my family pretended to get raptured so I would think I was left behind on earth while they all went to heaven.

I was like 8 years old and my sister and mom had gotten really into the Left Behind novels (bible fan fic about the rapture). In the books when the rapture happened the clothes that people were wearing when they got raptured were left behind in neatly folded piles.

One day when I was getting home from school my family decided that they would leave piles of neatly folded clothes around the house, and then hide in the basement.

The intended effect was that I would get home and see the clothes then, think that my family had been raptured and that I wasn’t good enough to get into heaven… or something?

The problem was that I had never read these books, and didn’t really think about the rapture very often. There was no reason that I would see some laundry on the floor and think “The rapture happened and I’ve been abandoned by God! I’ll never see my family again!! Oh nooo!!!!”

I just sat down and watched cartoons and eventually my family got bored and revealed that they were all hiding in the basement.

It’s a good thing I didn’t understand the joke, otherwise that shit would have been traumatic.

How do you imagine Edd and Kevin could have been portrayed as a couple in the original cartoon?

(I discovered this fandom when I rewatched this cartoon and went searching for things on Tumblr and came across this ship)

I’ve thought about this a lot, actually. Lemme explain how I think it would work:

Seeing as there’s so much amazing representation in media nowadays, I’d like to think if they ever brought Ed, Edd n Eddy back for something like a reboot ( hopefully if they do, they do it RIGHT btw ) I feel like it would play out like Luz and Amity from the Owl House, kind of. They would slowly begin to realize and navigate their feelings for one another. Enemies to lovers: Double D finds Kevin’s “carefree attitude” annoying, and Kevin finds Edd’s “stuck-up” attitude annoying at first, but slowly he’d grow to appreciate and respect Double D. Vise-Versa.

I would LOVE to see them grow together as people and realize how much they need one another in the long run. However, I don’t think it would be exactly like the Lumity-love-story, as they had this driving force that had them grow closer ( The Day Of Unity/Belos taking over ), Kevin and Edd would probably be a bit slow-burn but worth it in the end.

Its obvious to me when people who post about canaries in mines have never met a canary. Like yeah the miners had a special device to revive the canary because canaries are one of the most adorable creatures on the planet and they make adorable little chirping sounds and honestly probably loved the sounds of machinery and people talking so it was probably loud and friendly with the workers. Whatever though maybe meet a canary sometime and youd understand

its important to do this every time a museum or school thinks this is a good idea
