Hi there. I’ve been watching the Expanse (up to season 3, episode 11) and started reading fanfic on AO3 and found your tumblr. Can I ask, is there a relationship between Amos and Prax in the books? I haven’t read any of them yet so I’m curious about these two, as well as Amos’ background. Thanks!

There’s not a romantic relationship between them, if that’s the question. But there absolutely is a relationship between them that’s just strong as in the show. I started this blog (and wrote fic) before Prax ever showed up on the show, because I fell in love with Prax/Amos in Caliban’s War. So yeah, I definitely recommend reading the books when you get the chance! Don’t forget to read the novella The Churn if you’re interested in Amos’s background, too.

Yeah - and I definitely didn’t mean to imply with that tag that there was anything wrong with not shipping it romantically! I just agree that there’s such a great connection between them in CW, I don’t think anyone could miss it - whether you take it as romantic or not. (I do, but I love the idea of platonic life partners too! 💚)

Every once in a while I get a flash of intense praxos feelings. Like, the (show, haven’t read the books that far yet) dynamic really gets to me. Especially aromantic Amos’ growing care for Prax. I know Amos’ place is on the Roci but … praxos co-parenting? Friends-to-more-or-less-platonic-(either-is-fine-)life-partners? That’s my jam. Anyway, doesn’t matter how you ship them, any version of praxos would be appealing to me.
